I have been going to Lucky Doughnuts in San Leandro for so many years and the consistency of being able to expect fresh treats has not changed !!! They always have fresh doughnuts no matter what time you go in morning or evening believe it or not that's rare , I've gone to places that were the rave and gave other places a try and each time the doughnuts were a bit stale but at this place the treats are always fresh . The Gentleman who runs the place is so friendly he says he comes it at 5 am to start the first round of doughnuts for the day the little lady who I believe is his wife seems like she's always having a bad day lol not so friendly but the doughnuts are good enough to overlook that and his genuine bubbly personality overrides hers ... Lucky dounts was packed full of happy people. I waited in line for about 5 mins, it was 11 in the afternoon. I picked out a few different donuts to share with my friends. They had such a variety of all sizes,shapes, flavors of donuts, I was impressed. They also offered fresh brewed coffee, refrigerated drinks, teas, coffee from a machine. Also offered a variety of different breakfast sandwiches, croissants and bagels. I wanted them all. The prices were standard, not expensive at all. Best part bitting into that warm sugar twist dount: the outside was crispy and fried to perfection, the inside WARM, where it just melted like butta as soon as it touched my tongue. I think it's nice that everyone is leaving good reviews regarding the service, freshness and long standing business . But if you're looking for a review regarding this shop from a health point of view.. don't go here. I work close by so I've given this place a try more than a couple of times , the dough in their donuts is always SOAKED in grease, inside and out. They also have flies inside the pastry/donut display case. I always end up with an upset stomach. This place is not for the health conscious. read more

I ordered a bacon, egg, & cheese bagel breakfast sandwich. The bagel bread was fresh just out of the oven and it was huge, the bacon was crispy, the cheese was completely melted and the egg was fluffy. I will definitely come here when im in the area. How does this place have any good reviews? The service is rude and curt. The donuts aren't that good, they reuse their oil and they end up tasing old. We live a block away and the last time I went there with my kids, 4 and 5, to get them a donut, our bill came to $4.98. I gave them my card and they refused to run it. They have a $5 minimum. So I said I would pay the extra $.02. Nope, they can't do that. Ok, I'd get another donut. Nope, that's a different transaction. After debating this for several minutes, and after they *took the donuts back* from my kids, who then started to cry, I left in utter disbelief. This level of stupidity borers on Trump. This was my first time at Lucky Donuts and I was looking for a quick breakfast bite before I was on my home. I looked at the reviews on this location before I walked in and everything was great. So I got a few donuts and a breakfast sandwich. And all I can say was Yummy!!! The donuts were soo light and it had just enough icing on it and I it's the Best!!! The breakfast sandwich was off the hook and nice and hot!!! It's made to order and I wish I got another for later. The people that own it and work the shop are so sweet and get you in and out with what you want. They have a great selection of food and donuts but you have to come see for yourself!!! Always ask for a reciept if you pay with credit card. They will overcharge you. This is not the first time and they will claim that they add a credit card charge. Their minimum is $5 but still charge you blindly. read more

This place isn't fancy but they do have some yummy donuts. My favorite is the cinnamon twist. I have bought a dozen twice for parties and they were a hit both times. I've had a croissant breakfast sandwich before, I wouldn't get that again because the croissant became quite soggy. read more

Currently my favorite donut place. Why this one? A few reasons: The donuts are fresh and awesome, They sell Lotto tickets (hence the "lucky"!) The counter staff is always friendly It's a legitimate hang-out. Every time I go in there, people are hanging out and chatting. It's more of an "old-school" crowd than nearby upscale cafe "Zocalo" around the corner. So what I do is I stop in here, grab a couple donuts and a lotto ticket, sit down, eat ONE donut and play my lotto ticket, THEN I walk around the corner with my remaining donut(s) and get a cappuccino over at Zocalo and read magazines over stellar coffee and donuts. They do sell coffee at Lucky Donuts- but it's the mass-brewed drip kind you might find in a convenience store. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that, but mostly not. Lucky Doughnuts is my go go place for doughnuts, Went today and bought a dozen glazed doughnut holes for a dollar. I also bought five sprinkled doughnut holes for .25 cents each so 2.25 cents total of doughnuts, My brother bought 2 raspberry filled doughnuts for 1.00 something like that. I like Lucky Donuts; I used to come here more often when I was in high school, on my walk home. Their chocolate croissant is delicious, flaky, and filled with chocolate, and their prices are cheap. They have a wide array of drinks, donuts, pastries, and croissant sandwiches, and the place is pretty clean. The owners are friendly, but I once had an issue where I tried to buy a lottery ticket and upon proving that I was over 18, the owner wouldn't let me purchase one and told me I needed to be 21 to gamble. Yeah, in Nevada. Unless I'm wrong here I'll shut up, but it clearly said on the back of the ticket you have to be at least 18 to play the California Lottery; I was just trying to test my luck for the hell of it, but whatever. The donuts I've had there have always been fluffy (if they were the fluffy sort) and tasty. I would have rated a 5 if I'd ever had a donut so fresh it was warm (which I've definitely had eat really good donut shops elsewhere). The breakfast sandwishes - I would definitely NOT eat another of these. Coffee - ugh. Don't even bother with the latte/mocha like things. They are beyond horrible. The drip coffee is pretty standard nasty-cheap fare, but that's what I expect from a donut shop. I'm not rating the donut shop lower for the nasty breakfast sandwiches or the blech coffee because, after all, that's not what they're really selling with a name like "Lucky Donuts". read more

I went in to buy donuts and the lady was sweeping the floor with a mask and gloves on. So I proceeded to the counter and she came to the back of the counter and proceeded to get my donuts. I said wait a minute you've been sweeping the floor! She said something back with an attitude, so I said never mind about the order. As I was leaving she was still babbling on.
