Drinks! (San San Tea and banana matcha with boba)
    Susana T.

Cozy little boba shop tucked into the corner shopping center. There is parking in the lot and the street, plus the entrance doesn't have stairs for the entry. There are a few seats outside and a couple seats inside while you wait for your order. The menu isn't extensive but the items are tasty, which is great when you're fond of a particular flavor. My son and I enjoyed a couple of drinks on the way home from Costco and sat at the nearby park to enjoy. The location is very accessible to the kids who go to school down the street on Washington, so keep in mind there may be a rush after school hours.

My teen and I were craving some matcha on our way to get groceries and found this spot on Yelp ofc! San san is located in the small shopping center off Williams, right before you get to the schools. Parking is a little weird and very limited but luckily for us, we found a spot on the side of the building. There were two young ladies working the store and the menu is basically posted everywhere. My daughter and I immediately gravitated to the banana matcha latte. We also saw they had yummy croissant pastries available, so we decided to give that a try. What we got: 1. 2 banana matcha lattes- 4/10 the matcha was okay but we tasted no banana to it besides the slices of banana. The pudding tasted like regular vanilla. Overall just not what we were anticipating. 2. Brown sugar boba milk? - 0/10 This was just milk with a bit of brown sugar syrup. (See pic) I actually dropped this off to my other daughter and she said she just couldn't drink it. 3. Strawberry croissant- 8/10 This was actually good. The strawberries with the jam and whipped cream were very good. Don't get me wrong, service was fine. They also had a few great items but the actual drinks were mid. I think the matcha needs to change or maybe making it more paste like could help boost the flavor. The brown sugar latte was just not it.

Hit-or-miss!?!?! We ordered 2 drinks...hit with the Thai tea and totally missed with the Avocado. Very cute, clean shop with good service. He was by himself but welcomed us and gave us an update. Sad that the avocado boba missed especially since it was at a premium price tag. Could barely taste the avocado, likely because it want ripe enough.

My friends and I stopped here for a lil dessert treat after lunch. I got my default, a passionfruit tea with less sugar, less ice, and boba. The boba pearls were the first thing I noticed when I received my drink, as they were still warm and very qq. Usually, I get boba pearls that are cold because they've been sitting in a chilled container for a while, so the freshness was a pleasant surprise. The tea was pretty good, but I would've liked it more if real passionfruit seeds were included.

Emerald Pearl MT, Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk, Mango Smoothie

Found this place on Yelp after a San Leandro Marina stroll during a heat wave weekend. Got 3 drinks for our fam. Little bit of a wait since they freshly blended the ingredients for the hubby's Mango Smoothie - he enjoyed it and would rate it 4-5 stars. Daughter enjoyed her nicely glazed, 50% sweet Brown Sugar Boba Fresh Milk. I'd say 3.5 stars for my 50% sweet Emerald Pearl Milk Tea - boba was chewy & sweet (balanced the lower sugar selection) but the tea flavor tasted watered down. Overall, cold drinks hit the spot on a hot day!

We got the rose oolong tea to try and it was well made! Boba was quite fresh and chewy. The space is very quaint so they have a few tables and chairs for out side seating. Overall, the place is friendly and hits the spot for a boba run!

This is a small local mom and pop shop. It came on a Sunday afternoon and it was run by two young women. I ordered the emerald pearl milk, tea and lychee lemon fruit tea. Both were ok. There were a few other teenage looking kids hanging out. No public restroom. Little no parking, so I suppose majority of their customers are from foot traffic in the neighborhoods. There's 2 small tables so I wouldn't recommend coming here with a large group to sit and chill.

My sister and I ordered a brown sugar boba fresh milk tea and a rose oolong tea, both with boba, 50% sweetness, less ice. I'd say it's decent -- as a boba connoisseur, it's decent. Nothing to write home about necessarily. The shop itself is very cute, fresh, and trendy-looking both outside and inside, with pops of colorful pastels decorating the interior and a classic lighted neon sign for the shop on the outside (the sign caught my eye while we were driving by which is how we ended up stopping here!). I like that the tea menu has pictures of the toppings and some of the drinks. I do wish there was a full kiosk or menu board with photos of all the drinks since I really like taking my time deciding on what to order and pictures/visual guides help speed up that process. As for the drinks, the quality of the boba itself was okay, and the tea wasn't really standout (at least my sister's rose oolong). For the brown sugar boba with fresh milk, I kind of wish it had been roasted milk or something to add more complexity, but I mean -- I did order fresh milk, so that's that. Service was good! The employee at the register, who was also making the drinks, was very friendly, helpful, and informative when helping us decide on sweetness and ice levels for our drinks, which I appreciated. There are a few tables inside and outside, but seating is pretty limited.

We came here for an avocado smoothie with boba last night. The boba pearls were very fresh and still warm in our drink. The drink itself, however, was not good. We asked for 25% sugar and so that meant that the smoothie tasted merely like milk. We didn't taste the avocado and also were disappointed that this probably means the sugar levels is the avocado syrup and that they don't use avocado or the typical condensed milk that I'm used to with these smoothies. Even if they don't use syrup, I don't think that it should have tasted only like milk -- maybe they can be transparent about what they put into the drink and ask the customer whether they even want whole milk and give options to the types of milk. We might come back to try the other drinks but we certainly would not get the avocado smoothie again. I also feel like the sole worker there making 10-15 smoothies in 15 minutes meant the wait was longer than it should be. I also witnessed a customer ahead of me complaining that the menu prices listed were different from what she was actually charged, so I would look at your receipts. In response to the comment posted: I have had plenty of avocado smoothies made of actual avocado and the smoothie I had simply lacked any texture of avocado. So if there was avocado, I didn't taste it and neither did I see it. To suggest I have not had an avocado smoothie before made of avocados is simply untrue. Maybe they put less avocado or use bland avocados?

    Banana matcha

I've been here several times and the drinks are consistently great, but the service at the front needs a little work. Every time I walk in, there's an awkward silence where nobody acknowledges you--even a simple 'be right with you' would go a long way. As for the drinks, the cheese cap is a must-try and truly makes the drink! However, I'd skip the banana pudding matcha. It tasted mostly like milk, lacked that matcha punch, and was missing the banana topping shown in the photo. Stick to their other smoothies and you'll be happy!

Service was quick. Staff was professional. The fresh milk boba was delicious. Milk tea was slightly too sweet, could have ordered less sweet. Parking was easy, small street mall. Will come again if in this vincinity.

Refreshing drinks. I like how my golden jasmine wasn't too sweet. Service was good, worker was friendly. I love the exterior of the place, they've got the cutest outdoor area to sit and take pictures if you want.

I was there on a warm Sunday, just to try their acai bowls. There's four acai bowls on the menu board, so I asked the gentleman behind the counter....."which is the best acai bowl?" With confidence, he said...."the Oasis Bowl." He likes the Oasis Bowl because it features seasonal fruit. That means the recipe and taste experience can change with the seasons. When I was there, the seasonal fruit was pineapple. This place makes a good acai bowl. For $13.00, it's not overflowing with fruit toppings. Instead, it's packed with fresh fruit, crispy granola, chia seeds, honey and coconut flakes on top of a acai base. It's definitely a meal, not a fruit bowl snack. The interior is very clean. It has a small outdoor patio. According to signage, there's no indoor seating. Main Squeeze is located near the Park Street Downtown. It's walking distance from the Alameda Theatre, public parking lot, and Alameda High School.

It gives off such a welcoming, community-centered vibe -- like they genuinely want people to come in, enjoy good food and drinks, hang out, relax, and just have a good time. I was indecisive while ordering because there's just too many goodies to choose from and IK that can be annoying, but we had great service because the guy that took our order was patient and seen that my struggles was most definitely real . We ordered mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken, curly fries, and two large Thai teas -- one with green apple jelly topping, which paired sooo well to me hehe. We don't eat out much because we cook at home nowadays, so when we do, we wanna enjoy the classics lol. It's actually really cool seeing how the place has evolved over the years. The very first time we came, the back area looked like this cute little library/study hall/tutoring/game/hangout room. Then a couple years into the COVID days, it turned into a unique snack and gift shop vibe. Now it's this awesome mini arcade/lounge setup with comfy seating, sports on TV, and really great food (savory & sweets) and drinks. And the food is SOLID. Even on my last mozzarella stick, I still had a cheese pull -- and it had already been at least like 20-30 minutes. That says a lot on the quality. What also makes this place stand out is the little acts of kindness. Part of their service is while we were already getting busy, grubbing, they randomly offered us a complimentary yummy, soft, and fluffy eggette on a stick with their condensed milk sauce, which gave me that feeling like how a love one would just randomly give something very sweet just because. I don't go out much anymore, but if I'm craving for some outside sweets and treats oh and almost forgot to mention how pretty affordable for the quality and portions we got for our meal, I'm def bringing my nieces n nephews here when they visit! I love the different chairs, décor, games, ambiance, food, and drinks! They keep everything so clean, neat, and organized at the station from where you sanitize your hands, grab your napkins, straws and condiments-- it genuinely feels like there's something here for everyone. You HAVE to find at least one thing you'll enjoy here!
