If I could update my old review I would. I broke my foot and had surgery so my husband got take out from Lucky Fortune. We've always had good food and service but our experience was awful. AND IT WAS NOT JUST EGGROLLS AS OWNER IS TRYING TO STATE. OUR ENTIRE MEALS WERE INEDIBLE. (Take some ownership. This makes me mad as we have been valiant supporters of your business. SMFH.) The food was super super greasy and felt like leftovers...we ordered right when they opened. I called because it was so horrible and also messaged on FB. Sadly they did not care nor replace our food we had to throw away nor did they refund. Very sad. And we always gave their kids a separate tip for being sweet and helping out. I pulled in the parking and took a moment to check emails and text messages. Within just a couple minutes a little angry man in a cooks apron came out and started shining a flashlight in my face asking me what I was doing. I was in shock. I told him I intended to come in and place an order. He began making rude comments in broken English. His body posturing and gesters were aggressive and obviously meant to intimidate me. This was our first visit to the Lucky Fortune. We had heard good things about the new owners so we decided to give it a try. There aren't many restaurant options in La Pine so we were hoping to find a good one. And we did! The new owners are definitely hands-on and very friendly. The food was fantastic and the portions more than generous. My partner and I both ordered the Lover's chicken entree with a choice of two chicken dishes. We chose the General Tsos and Lemon Chicken. So much food. We will get several meals out of the leftovers. While we were there it was obvious that they were doing a bang-up take out service. Our new favorite Chinese spot! My fiancé and I stopped here on our drive home from Bend and were very impressed with the food and the friendly owners. The portions were huge and the pricing was quite fair. I had the Salt and Pepper fish and my fiancé had the General Tso's chicken along with an egg roll appetizer. Take out can be a bit difficult to find when you're on the road. We were fortunate enough to stumble across this little gem while touring Oregon. First off, the restaurant is a block off the main road (97) so you won't see it if you're not looking for it. Based on the reviews, we chose Lucky Fortune over the other Chinese option in La Pine. We were not disappointed! Next is portion size. To say that we over ordered would have been the understatement of the year. Every dinner portion was enough to feed an army. We had leftovers for days. There were some menu items that weren't available due to changes in demand (stupid COVID!), but we were able to get twice cooked pork, salt and pepper shrimp, and beef and vegetable noodle soup. As well as crab rangoons (crab puffs), pot stickers, and spring rolls. The appetizers could have been full meals. After three days of eating their food, I believe it's safe to say that we liked it! read more

For the first time we ordered food from the Lucky Fortune normally we order from Hunan's but we thought we would give him a try I wouldn't recommend it to anybody I would go back to Hunan's there's shrimp is nothing but better everything it's just go to Hunan so you get more bang for your buck that's all I can tell you it's just up the road from the Lucky Fortune not too far their food has no flavor as far as Chinese food goes and I love Chinese my old man's not real big on Chinese but he'll eat it but he even said this is the worst so good luck anybody that goes there cuz I sure won't be going back read more

The fried wontons were the perfect starter with drinks. The shrimp salad was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. We had the paper wrapped chicken appetizer which was very tender and everyone loved the spices. We also had Spring Rolls which were hot, crispy, and an excellent balance of spice and flavors. The pork bbq was marinated in a lovely mix of spices that everyone enjoyed and the pork was very tender and juicy. We had an order of special fried rice which was hot and tasty. I left a review on google, but forgot to put one here. Small place but worth your time and money. We just moved to La Pine in early May and had heard good things from neighbors about Lucky Fortune. We tried it. We were not at all prepared for the amount of food they give you. It lasted us a few days. I was blown away at the amount of meat. Usually, my experience has been you get LOTS of veggies and a lil meat at other restaurants. This one does it right, well worth the bill. OK, so because we're new- we stuck to our basics of ordering in the town we came from. Mongolian beef, chow mein, rice, egg rolls, Crab won ton, and my boo ordered some other beef plate, soup and tea. We're use to maybe 2-4 egg rolls * 4 crab won tons. Um. we were given 8 crab won tons and 6 egg rolls, and the size of the plates that are just loaded high with what you ordered is an unexpected surprise. The food was hot and delicious. We paid LESS than what the same meal, just less of everything on plates etc - would cost us in our prior town. Now, we understand price diffs in diff places, but this restaurant honors your dollar. They give you quality food in an abundance while not trying to steal your money. Its a great place to go if you got kids/a family. We've gone back with my Fiancé's kids since they're here visiting for the summer. (They're 10 & 13).
