They've been cooking all through Covid craziness and been steadfast in keeping things safe. Always big portions and super tasty.

We've eaten a lot of Chinese food restaurants, but this one had really fresh fresh vegetables in the food. I had spicy garlic and scallops and the wife had wor wonton soup. Even the one time that shrimp side of it which was good everything was very tasty. We will come back again to eat here and recommend it to everybody. read more

I was passing by and yelped this restaurant. You cannot see it from the main highway 97. Amazing restaurant of this quality in this small town. The locals have discovered this place and they are ordering more than the usual dishes. We had the dinner special with string bean and chicken. Cooked to the right texture the string beans were not over cooked and very delicious. Another special dish was the American eggplant stir fired with fermented bean curd. Very tasty with a very small amount of bean curd taste just right right and not over powering. I hope to come back this week to try their lunch specials. Family run and nice folks. People have speculated that World War 1 was caused because Gavrilo Princip had a bad lunch. The dinner we had a Lucky Fortune last night was a meal so bad that it could have started World War 3 & 4! The scary thing is that the food looks good, but tasted of nothing. The chef is taking quality ingredients and putting them together in a way that that produces bland, tasteless food. What a pity! It didn't even smell good. The dogs choked down the BBQ pork fried rice, and the bland beef from the so called 'Mongolian Beef' but no one could choke down those baseball sized dumplings. I have only one complaint about this place . Food, portions, service and value are all on point. A nice break from the bend Chinese food scene when I'm on my way through la pine. They need some music or something. It's seriously uncomfortably quiet and zero atmosphere at all. You can hear everyone's conversation and feel like they are listening to yours. The food wasn't terrible to the point I couldn't eat it, but it's screaming for flavor, it's extremely bland. I haven't had great Chinese food since moving up here. Even when I first walked in it had the vibe of restaurants I used to go to growing up in a predominantly Asian suburb. The portions are insane. We got soup, an app, lo mein, and three entrees. Five of us pigged out and didn't even clear half the food. Everything was tasty. Even the dish we liked the least was still good, just not as good as the rest of the food. Mothers chicken was to die for, and the wrapped shrimp were amazing. Will definitely come back. read more

Lucky Fortune has the absolute WORST food I've ever eaten. My experience here was TERRIBLE. Firstly, the wait staff weren't very friendly. They didn't greet me/us when we came in. We had to ask for a serving of rice several times until the waiter finally brought it. Now onto the food. Don't be deceived. Big portions doesn't mean that the food's automatically good. We ordered the Lo Mein, Cashew Nut Chicken, and Schezuan Chicken. All three entrees were HORRIBLE. The taste was awful, and the chicken meat was weirdly cut/cooked. Our white rice tasted as if it had been in the cooker all day. Would DEFINITELY not recommend this place to anyone. I give it 1/10 stars. Will for sure NOT be coming back. read more

What a hidden gem! On the drive back from Crater Lake but with very few vegan options in between, my boyfriend and I decided to take a chance on Lucky Fortune. The woman at the front greeted us warmly and was a sweetheart throughout our stay. There's a nice veggie section towards the end that suited us well. We got the stringed beans and by request, general tso's fried tofu. I couldn't believe how much flavor was packed in both dishes. We definitely had a hearty amount of leftovers and for the price it made it that much more satisfying. If I'm ever in the area again I'd make a stop back in a heartbeat! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would! We went here for lunch today and we were the first ones to show up. We never got seated and with one of the worst attitudes she didn't even give us a menu. I ordered the beef and broccoli off of the lunch menu and my husband ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The rice was horrible and tasted extremely old. I couldn't even stomach my meal, it all tasted frost bitten and the broccoli was raw. This was the absolute worst meal I ever tasted, and some of the rudest people. We have eaten here twice and have not been disappointed either time. We prefer this restaurant to any of the Chinese restaurants in Bend. Definitely a hidden gem in LaPine, located about a block off the highway. Both times the staff were friendly and welcoming. The portions are HUGE in comparison to other Chinese restaurants we have gone to. My husband and I can get 3 meals out of our entrees! I have ordered the kung pao tofu both times because I like it so much, and there is a decent selection of other vegetarian options. Not many places that are open late in La Pine, OR. We came in 2 minutes to closing. They served us cheerfully and did not hesitate to seat us. Passing through town and saw this restaurant on Yelp. We got the Crab puffs, the Shrimp Kung Pao, and the Mar Far Chicken. The wait time after ordering was really short. I was really surprised at how fast they got our food out to our table. Portion sizes were nice and big. Everything tasted really great! Really crispy, fresh-tasting vegetables & peanuts in the Kung Pao. Good sauce. And the Mar Far Chicken (battered & deep-fried) was a really great texture and flavor.
