I've been a customer of Downey Nails and Lashes for nearly two years, and the nail technicians have…read morebeen phenomenal. Their work is consistently excellent, which is why I've often recommended them to friends and family. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the salon's management and front desk staff. Their scheduling and customer service are extremely disorganized, and they seem to have little regard for the customer experience. The salon routinely overbooks technicians and assigns walk-in clients to technicians who already have upcoming appointments. Despite making appointments every time I've visited, I've regularly been forced to wait 15-30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, even though I make a point of arriving early as a courtesy. My most recent experience was the final straw. I scheduled both a lash lift and an acrylic fill. When I called, the receptionist told me my lash appointment would be at 5:00 PM and my nail appointment at 6:00 PM. However, the text confirmation I received only listed a 6:00 PM appointment. On previous visits, I had been told by the front desk that appointments are not considered booked without a text confirmation, so I reasonably assumed the salon had adjusted my schedule and moved the lash appointment. When I arrived at 6:00 PM, the receptionist informed me that the text confirmation was incorrect, my lash appointment had actually been at 5:00 PM, and I had missed it. No apology was offered, nor did anyone attempt to rebook the service. I then asked if I could still proceed with my 6:00 PM nail appointment, only to be told that my nail technician would not be available for another hour. The receptionist blamed the delay on my technician's timing, which was both inappropriate and inaccurate. I've worked with the same technician for two years, and she has always been professional, efficient, and respectful of her appointment schedule. It was clear that the salon had double-booked over my appointment. Their only solution was for me to return at 7:00 PM, which was not possible given my schedule. This experience was incredibly frustrating because I genuinely love the work of the nail technicians. However, I can no longer tolerate the level of disorganization, poor communication, and lack of accountability from management. As a result, I will not be returning, and I can no longer recommend this salon to others. The business needs to get control of its scheduling and customer volume before more loyal customers have similar experiences.

So I sat down and waited patiently for the nail tech to be done but more people were coming in and I don't mind waiting but instead they decided to pull this guy who was smoking a cigarette outside on his phone who looked like he didn't care or didn't want to be there to do my nails. Umm... ok I guess. I thought to myself but hey I was trying this place out and who knows he might be a really good nail tech so I wasn't trying to judge a book by its cover. So then as he started I noticed he didn't clean my nails or trim my cuticles or anything and I was curious because I've gotten my nails done already from other salons and they've always taken care of my nails and properly prepped them the same ways but this guy was skipping almost every step?! On top of that instead of upselling me he downsold me, I wanted a whole new set because my previous set was chipped and starting to fall off and he said no he had me do a fill instead which I mean if my nails were still go to do a fill than whatever I don't mind saving money but he said it would be $15 cheaper so it should of been $61 but instead I was charged $68. On top of that as he was doing my nails he was not measuring the nails he was not filing them correctly and was not even he wasn't even layering my hands to make sure both hands we're symmetrical I had to keep doing it myself! I had to keep telling him to fix my nails because they were crooked or jagged and I was just kind of frustrated at this point and wanted to get it done and over with. He even was getting the French tip design wrong and had to redo it a few times. By the time we were done my nails looked somewhat decent and I was ready to go because I was just done with it. Oh and he only did one layer of clear coat and didn't even oil my cuticles or anything like that. And it's just him! I saw the nail tech next to him working on a different client and she was getting such a different experience than what I was getting When I got home I re looked at my nails under different lighting and realized he glued hair in my nails which is disgusting and I can't take it out unless I file the nail down, the nail polish is streaky and bubbly and even after all the corrections I had him do some nails are still jagged on the edges and not smooth! I wish I would have gotten the guys name because they have 3 guys there but I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE not unless you get one of the ladies or guys that actually give a shit compared to this man that did my nails cause clearly he did not want to be there and rushed/botched my nails Also it's only been a few days and the nail polish is already falling off.

Instead of aggressively drilling down or yanking my old set off, he removed them with so much care, which I really appreciated.
