I've been here in town for a work conference. Been staying away from restaurants and trying to get take out. Tonight, I saw this place was super close to where I was staying so I decided to go with it. I ordered soup- felt like a cool fall evening so I went with the mixed wonton and egg drop soup, then went with shrimp toast, and pork egg rolls as apps, and got the crispy fried shrimp as an entree. Ambitious order, for sure. Tonight's the opening evening of NFL on Amazon so I wanted to avoid going to the bars and sitting there for 3+ hours. Tends to add up to bad decision making. The soup was great- about 4 dumplings in it, and really flavorful. For the evening weather and the way I have been feeling all week it didn't last long. Good value for the price. The shrimp toast, predictably, was greasy. It was tasty, and there was some tiny shells in some of the paste there- so this indicates that these are homemade. Didn't eat the egg rolls yet. The crispy shrimp wasn't so crispy but that's a part of ordering take out and not venting the dish on the ride home. Batter is pretty thick, but the sauce was super flavorful and spicy. Having broccoli as a part of the dish brought some freshness to what would be a pretty fatty dish. I think if they went with a lighter batter and not on the thicker side this could be even better. All in all, this place looks like they do a lot of take out. Not one table was taken indoors. If I was staying longer I'm sure I'd order here again. This place is worth the price, and supporting small owned businesses is a good thing, especially in this climate when the future is so cloudy. Pricing is reasonable, and the effort by them here to get good food out so quickly and efficiently I was super happy. No photos today, but you can be sure that they wouldn't have made it anyway because I destroyed the meal. Enjoy! read more

First timer. The food was very tasty, but the spicy dishes, were not spicy at all. I will ask for spicier next try. Also they messed order up, I got someone's chk rice soup, and they got my shrimp in lobster sauce. read more

Passed through town and grabbed food from here. The egg rolls were the star of the show! The beef and broccoli were also delicious. It seems like you can't miss and the service was top notch too! read more

The food was subpar at best. General chicken was as dry. The rice was not fully cooked.

Major shoutout to Lucky Star for being open on Christmas Day. Always make it a point to stop here on my way home to Cleveland from Green. This place delivers every single time. It's fast, high quality, and consistent. Appreciate y'all! read more

First, their food has never disappointed me. It's fantastic. This isn't about the food. However, There was an incident the other night that people need to be aware of. They're open till 10:00pm, I was there at 9:00pm waiting to pick up an order. One of the employees was doing his job, mopping the main entrance, my food was ready, so I walked in to get my order after he finished. I get my order & leave, the next day I go to leave for work and notice that my floor mat was bleached! I called today and found out they used bleach to clean the floor! Why in the heck would they clean so early knowing someone was coming in to pick up an order!!!!!! I know have to replace my floor mats!!!! read more

I love getting takeout from here: I always go for the general Tsos chicken or sesame chicken - can't lose with either. Usually get a side of crab Rangoon and shrimp mei fun- so good. You won't be disappointed! read more

The best Chinese take out, potentially the only takeout(?) in all of Green. This is your typical Chinese restaurant menu, no frills. But you absolutely will not be disappointed in the portions or quality. Got the General Tso Lunch and took it back to work and loved it. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the sauce was delicious. Actually, I might go as far as to say this was the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten... which is ironic considering one of the customers waiting for her order told me it was her favorite place for Chinese food. We ordered shrimp fried rice, shrimp spring rolls and fried dumplings. We threw almost all of it away after tasting it, opting instead for a bowl of pho and fried rice @ Giant Eagle Supermarket just around the corner. My boys love shrimp fried rice and normally I would insist we not be wasteful and eat it anyway. But it was just too flavorless to bother doctoring. FINAL THOUGHTS Listen, if you like the food here you many not be aware you have bad taste. It is also possible you may have absolutely no clue there is food available on this planet that tastes waaaay better than this, so my apologies for raining on your parade. But for the rest of us with functional taste buds, I only gave them a try because A) my wife was getting her nails done next door, B) I was unfamiliar with the area, and C) the kids and I were extremely hungry. Come to think of it, that is something else I'd like to point out. I am far less picky about food when I'm starving. At that point, it's all about nourishment and not as much about flavor. Incredibly rude workers. After one of the guys gave us the wrong order, he called us 3 times telling us that we had to return the food. We weren't going to since we were almost home and it was their fault, but then we were worried that they would charge our cards. So when we returned the food, the guy behind the counter literally shooed us away and said nothing else....so yeah, we won't be returning lol. read more

Typically chow main. consists of bokchoy, bean sprouts, mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrots, maybe some broccoli and onions. I just came home with a take out vegetable chow main. What was in it?, you ask. Onions,lots of onions, celery, snow peas and tomatoes. It came with rice and crispy noodles. Saving grace was the white or clear sauce that was good with the rice. Their vegetable rolls are ok, a little too much roll though. Don't know if I'll go back if all their vegetable stuff is like this. My friend ordered the Subgum with pork, beef and chicken and it came with broccoli, carrots and other veggies that should have been in my chow mien. Not a happy camper. read more

Poor service...even worse food. I specifically called ahead and asked if the chicken for a particular dish was white meat. I was told "yes". I proceeded to buy this among other things. After my order was brought home ... it was entirely incorrect...down to the chicken. We called back to complain and they were incredibly rude. Not good, man. I've heard it's better than the Lucky Star in Washington Square and I'm going to have to strongly disagree. I got pineapple chicken and it did not have sauce covering more than 1/3 of it, there were maybe 3 small chunks of pineapple total, and the rice tasted old, like it had been reheated. Went to this place after coworkers recommended it. Walked out after observing a cook (who appears to be the owner) demonstrating incredibly bad (read disgusting) food handling practices. After placing order I observed this person, not kidding here, picking nose, then blowing nose then preparing food...including picking up raw food and placing it in the wok to prepare it , without ever washing his hands. Also during my visit I observed him taking cash out of his pocket and placing it in the register. He apparently was just coming back from a delivery as I was placing my order. Here again he didn't bother to wash his hands. Having no intention of taking my order, or coming back for that matter, I went so far as to ask the chashier to ask him to wash his hands thinking I could save future patrons from these disgusting practices they might not observe. I don't think she could understand me because she called him over to talk to me. I tried to tell him about what I observed and suggested he wash his hands. I don't believe he understood either because he simply pointed me to the washroom and then turned around and continued preparing food. I understand the food is good here but I'm not sure anyone would want to take a chance on the "extras" that look to come with every meal. read more

Do not order Chinese food here unless you like to be disappointed. My family and I recently moved to Green from the Columbus area and we have yet to find a decent Chinese takeout joint in the area. Last night was our 3rd go at this place because we were hoping so badly we had found our new "go to" place. Last night was the final nail in the coffin and we will never eat there again. This review is regarding all three times we ordered there. The General Tso's is literally 85% breading, and the very little chicken that was inside the breading was tough and rubbery, and had zero spiciness. The sauce was actually sweet with zero spice! Huh?! I attached two pictures. The first picture you can see the chicken, which was dark meat btw, and how much extra breading there was. The second picture is a nugget that was 100% breading. I'd say about 1/3 of the nuggets were 100% bread... no meat. The fried rice is flavorless except for the mounds of onion they throw in, the Mei Fun is REALLY flavorless... thank goodness soy sauce saved the day, which it shouldn't have to. I paid for Mei Fun, not rice noodles swimming in soy sauce. The wonton soup was... well the best word is just GROSS. The broth was, you guessed it... flavorless, and the wonton filling had a very strange taste to it... almost like the meat had gone bad. It was inedible. The crab Rangoon had no CRAB and the dipping sauce was disgustingly sweet. Don't bother with the shrimp spring roll either. It was greasy and flavorless and they didn't include a dipping sauce. The staff seemed somewhat friendly, so that's the one and only good thing I have to say about the place. Just thinking about their food there makes me sad. read more

Comparing this Chinese restaurant to others in the area the quality is just not the same. It's average at best and the portions are very small for the price. The wonton soup was tasted as if it had been sitting for quite sometime. I could eat here again it was not terrible but I would prefer to take my business somewhere with higher quality and bigger portions. read more

I've ordered two items at this restaurant: the kung pao chicken and the Singapore mei fun. I've tried a number of Chinese restaurants in the Akron area. The mei fun was good - not the best in the Akron area, but probably my second favorite. To be fair, I'm pretty particular about how my mei fun is seasoned. Lucky Star's kung pao chicken, however, currently reigns as my favorite kung pao dish among carry-out Chinese restaurants in the Akron area. Other restaurants seem to struggle with how they cook kung pao chicken; many other places seem to overcook this dish regularly. Lucky Star's chicken was tender and the rice was vastly superior to most of the other places I've tried. In addition, the service here is quick and the restaurant is clean. Although this is primarily a carry-out establishment, there are a few tables where one could dine-in. Overall, I was highly satisfied with my experience here. read more

I called and the goal on the phone said she thought she hear me say chicken and broccoli. Ordered carry-out for a business 3 miles away from the location, after TWO HOURS and 2 phone calls later, They called back to inform us that they were unable to find our location and would not be delivering our food. In turn, causing us to re-order elsewhere and a higher bill because the lunch times were over. Very disappointed. read more

Read the reviews and wanted to say that giving the restaurant a one star is really a disservice to those of us who enjoy being able to get good Chinese take out that is consistently fresh, on time, and delicious. When I moved to Green, it was hard to find a decent Chinese restaurant, especially when compared to Cleveland's choices, but this is great for a quick, "I really don't feel like cooking - let's get Chinese tonight" dinner. read more
