If you want a deck seat, that's enclosed. It's probably a good place. The Holiday Inn next-door looked like a better deck. Food is basic services. Interesting.

Thank you Beth you really made it special, please tell Jim , Charnell, and Melissa please know we will always call aloha home

The food was incredible. We had the halibut macadamia nut crusted with coconut rice. Oh it was so good. I am dreaming about it right now. We have been going to Aloha for 22 years. It's mine and my husband's go to place for fancy nights and he's worked there for years and knows all the workers and Beth yesterday showed us nothing but amazing service and took great care of us. Our anniversary is this month and she made us feel so special and it was just an amazing evening and the ambience at aloha is probably top notch to any restaurant in Ventura. We will be back. Thank you to Beth for making it amazing

Stumbled upon this restaurant looking for an exquisite dinner. Unfortunately, I got the catch of the day halibut. My wife got the scallops. It was not good @ all. Being right on the water you expect good food right . Well This wasn't the case. My haiilbut tasted as if it had been thawed and cook.... So sad because we had high expectations for a 170$ dinner. Wedge salad was bomb tho.

so I have been eating at the Aloha for over 10 years.... I always get the same thing... a CowBoy rib-eye steak.... you all know what a rib eye looks like. Recently I was eating there and when my steak came it was missing about 25% of the meat trimmed off the edge. The price was the same... but the perimeter of the steak has been trimmed off. I asked the manager and he said... oh that is just how the steak is. I said I literally order this meal at least twice a month for 10 years and this steak has had 25% of the meat trimmed off.... so Aloha is cutting the quality and quantity of what you order but still charging the same price.... the two pics below are the CowBoy rib eye... the one on the right is what they are supposed to look like with the tenderloin portion on the perimeter.... the one on the left is the untouched "trimmed" one I ordered at Aloha... Terrible rip off

This is my favorite ocean front restaurant in Ventura. It's located next to the parking structure. Theres a boardwalk out front too so you can take a stroll or sit on a bench and enjoy watching the waves. Call ahead and make a reservation. You want to ask for a booth or if you want to watch the sunset over the ocean- ask for one of the tables next to the glass window. Everything I've tried so far is delicious. One of my favorites are their SPICY AVOCADO EGG ROLLS. They're fried to perfection: crispy, with a creamy filling and hints of sun dried tomato. This dish comes on a bed of little white crunchy noodles that I ended up sprinkling on top with the dipping sauce. If you love bleu cheese and mushrooms, I recommend the BLACK AND BLEU TOP SIRLOIN medium.. it is to die for. I ordered it with the house salad and was not a fan of cranberries on top. I also ordered a side of SWEET POTATO FRIES. Some of the best I've ever had and the portion was plentiful. It took a lot of willpower to stop eating after I was full. My hubby got the PRIME RIB with garlic mashed potatoes and that was incredible as well!! I haven't had a Bloody Mary in a while and was craving something spicy other than my go t spicy Margie's, so I went for it. My goodness, it hit the spot! Next time I'm going for the Bloody Mary Luau- which is a meal and drink all in 1: the menu says it comes with a burger slider, piece of chicken, shrimp, bleu cheese, bacon, and green olives. Can't wait to go back!

The food was pretty good and I was happy they had vegan options. I had the vegan burger which was a beyond burger patty. Everything in the burger was vegan even the sauce. The beach view across the way was really nice. You can walk along the boardwalk after dinner. I would recommend reservations.

Returned to Aloha for my birthday dinner last week and overall had a nice experience. The drinks are always great here - the Malibu Third Point is my favorite! I loved the herb crusted salmon as well as the sides of creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Perfectly cooked salmon for the 3 of us who ordered it. The entrees come with one side but I love that you can add additional sides for only $3 (including a side salad or soup). I took some of my dinner home and it was equally as good the next day. The prices were reasonable as well. Our server was just fine - he was friendly but did seem to forget about us on a couple of occasions. Ambiance is one of the main reasons people come here - hard to beat that ocean view! Be sure to bring your parking ticket if you park in the structure as they will validate for two hours!

Alex our host absolutely made our day!! It was our old girls beach day. I went in to get a puppy paddy for our old girl, Marley, as she needed to eat and he was the absolute best! Our girl is 10 years old and we wanted to spend her day at our favorite beach. I explained to him our situation with her and he instantly knew without me having to say more!! Without a doubt he is absolutely attentive and charismatic, he always made sure I was updated with what was going on with our food! Because of him i truly recommend this place. I truly commend him for all that he does and i will for sure will be back due to him! He truly made today, a day to remember for my family and I.

Came here while vacationing and it was great. It's beachfront so you get all the views and the fresh breeze. The hostess greeted us immediately as we walked in the front door. We sat outside since we had our dogs with us. The staff were also very nice to our dogs and brought them a bowl of water. The steak was great and our food was ready quickly. Servers were attentive and checked on us frequently. They also have a doggie menu and our dogs loved their huge patties. They also validated our parking so don't forget.

Is there a preferred/recommended dress code?

No , you can walk in with shorts and t-shirt during lunch, preferred or dinner time shorts and a nice shirt for men

Yes, it's dog friendly! We've brought our dog here many times.

    Is the patio dog friendly?

I would call them. All the times I've been there I've seen no dogs on the patio. But then again, it's a makeshift patio that's on the side of the building due to the pandemic. If you Google Earth it, the patio is on the side that's closest to the…

Hello will you be open on thanksgiving.?

    Call them & ask

Are there 2 patios during the shutdown (I know there's a makeshift one on the entrance side) and just how heated are they? Would you still have to dress like an Eskimo at night?

When we went last week, there was only one patio open on the entrance side. Our waitress brought our own heater to the table as soon as we sat down. So we were comfortable in a light jacket the whole time we were there.

I hear that the patio is open now during the covid-19 shutdown. Word also has it that there are no heaters on the patio. Is this correct?

I don't recall seeing heaters when I was there a few weeks ago, but I am not sure if this has changed.

Are they open for to go orders during the Covid-19 shutdown?

Yes. They recently (around 7/25/20) started to go service and outside dining service. They expanded the outside dining space so there's a lot of room. We didn't feel too close to other diners and all the staff wore masks. They do not have heaters…

I am traveling alone and prefer to eat at the bar rather than at a table - that being said is there a bar to eat at, and, how difficult to get a seat if there is? On a friday? TGIF :-)?

Depends on the time you arrive. Typically if you're there by 4-5 you should be good, however happy hour starts at 4 everyday!!

Are you open at 2:00 pm?

Aloha Steakhouse is open everyday from 11:30 am until 9:00 pm, Lunch is served until 3:00 pm, Happy hour is from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Friday and Saturday. Dinner starts at 3:30 everyday.…

It was a solid grilled fish taco with not a ton of pomp and circumstance. Just unadulterated goodness. Fast forward to my recent visit - it didn't quite hit the same though I'm sure my palette has since evolved. The World Famous grilled fish taco ($7.95) was good, but was only made better with the in house sweet chili fire sauce. Of the things we ordered, I did really enjoy the ahicado ($13.75) which is ahi tuna mixed in lemon infused olive oil on top of avocado and served with wonton chips. I love a wonton chip situation and paired with the fresh ahi, it made for a perfect bite. The guy next to us ordered several Parmesan hard shell tacos ($5.50) so I did too (with shredded chicken). The flavorful chicken was perfectly shredded so you didn't get unmanageable hunks with each bite. These were unexpectedly very tasty. Highly recommend if you like a hard shell sitch. Judging from the lines at 2:00PM on a Saturday afternoon, Spencer MaKenzie's is a Ventura institution even if I won't be thinking about the grilled fish tacos n-e-more. PSA: dining on the patio is the move even if you have to wait.

Beach House Tacos (got grilled fish), nice pineapple salsa, tender fish, nice sauces and lettuce. Calamari Taco - fried calamari - fresh avocado and cabbage, nice sauce - chipotle. Marilu Taco with popcorn shrimp with nice chile lime crema, not too spicy. Even the fried seafood here is fresh, not very fried, just a tad, nice and crispy, but not greasy. We ordered the Augachiles Ceviche which worked really well as an entree alone and I personally didn't find spicy. It came with these cute little potato taquitos which were delicious by themselves. We also ordered the Quesabirra quesadilla which at first appearance looks burnt. But it's just the color of the tortilla. The thing I did appreciate the most about it is that it stayed together while you bit into it, and you could dip it into the consume without fear of it falling apart. We also ordered cocktails, which did take a while to arrive, but they did tell us they were training someone on cocktails that day. My friend had an Aztec Old Fashion which was on the sweeter side. And I had a Jalisco Mule, which felt like it was made with either tequila of mezcal but still very good. Overall, the food was exceptional. My only concern is with the service. Overall, service was good, but I do understand they were busy and some of the staff seemed new and was still learning. But everyone we interacted with was kind. I would definitely return to try more menu items and more drinks.
