We started with the Citrus Miso Salad and the Lemon Pepper Karaage Chicken - both excellent. For our entrees we had the Calamansi Pork Belly Toast (the pork belly was amazing) and the Crispy Shrimp Tempura Benedict (also excellent) The Endless Brunch option for drinks was a good deal (especially liked the Makrut Margarita) Our server Alex was terrific - very friendly, helpful and personable. My friend and I had a truly underwhelming dining experience at this overpriced and inauthentic restaurant. Waiter was poorly trained and manager tried to convince us into believing the tempura cauliflower that was served without batter was in fact tempura battered...instead of admitting the dish was not prepared in a traditional manner they doubled down and it was ridiculous! This is a hard place to review--why? Because, I'm torn. First off, the prices in relation to the serving size are ridiculous. The drinks and small plates are more expensive than the Mandarin in Columbus Circle. Seriously, if you are money conscious, you are going to feel ripped off. But... if you have money to burn, or plan to get whacked right after dinner, then this is a great place to go to disappear the money you don't want your kids getting their hands on. Everything we had was very good. The chicken on a stick was two tiny pieces of chicken for a stupid price, but it was fantastic. Same with the tempura shrimp... but excellent. I decided to try the $25 pad Thai. That price seemed close to what I would pay in Manhattan. It was also excellent. So, in conclusion: if you are stupid rich or just stupid with money--by all means, blow your wad here. The food is good. The room is cool too. And, the waiter was awesome. This was an experience. We tried to go on Thursday night. Google said they were open, we get there, walk in and we're told they were closing and kitchen was already closed. Google said they were open for another hour but okay. Bummer, we were looking forward to trying out their tacos. We dis come back Friday night and have it another try. Got sat right away but NO TACOS. Just wasn't meant to be I guess. The server who I choose not to name was very pushy. She wanted us to order more was not subtle about it. We just wanted a chill last night in NYC, couple apps and couple drinks. The food was delicious. The drunken noodles were AMAZING. The honey orange duck bao's were VERY spicy, flavorful but I would not order those again We tried some new beers we haven't had before and were pleasantly surprised. 4-stars for food But a 5-star experience for overall vibes and service! For FiDi, this restaurant and bar feels like a breath of fresh air. It's cozy, unpretentious and offers a good range of food and drink options. Additionally, it wasn't very crowded when I visited on a Monday night which made it the perfect place to catch up with an old friend. We sat in the corner booth and had Axle as our server. He was absolutely lovely and made our long overdue, belated birthday catch up special. If I could give him 6-stars, he would deserve it! We ordered a few dishes: Cheesy Map Rice Cakes, Shrimp Shumai, Chicken Skewers and the Fancy Filet Bao. The rice cakes were super spicy and and bit heavy for my taste, but the fancy filet baos were right up my alley - kind of reminded me of a bao fish filet (sans the cheese.) We passed by this spot and decided to give this a try. The exterior is eye-catching and when you walk in, you are transported to another world. Our server was very outgoing and friendly even though the day outside was so cold and gloomy. Our server was also very attentive and our water cups were never empty. It was pretty empty but we arrived during an odd hour. Also they have a bathroom in the back. We ordered: Spicy steelhead crispy rice - 10/10 so good. The crispy rice adds a nice crunch and the fish topping is very refreshing. It is a bit spicy because of the sliced jalapeno so if you don't like spicy, just remove that. There aren't many dining options in FiDi, but we stumbled upon Lucky Tiger for some Asian fusion cuisine. I was immediately amazed by the decor and aesthetics of this place, which is beautifully done. The restaurant is also separated into various rooms, which was cool. As a walk in on a Friday night, we were seated in the bar area with a high top table. The music is also a bit loud with a live DJ playing. We started off with the Lucky Tiger Shrimp Tempura ($16) to share. These were crunchy and flavorful, but quite a tiny dish. Then I had the Drunken Noodles ($22) with Beef (+$6) while my friend had the Kimchi Fried Rice ($23) with Beef (+$6). The extra cost for protein is a bit excessive on top of the already pricey dishes. I did enjoy the flavor, but this spot feels a bit catered to non-Asians more. Plus, the price just isn't worth what you're getting even though the food is tasty. Overall, decent spot when there's not many other options for food in the area. I work in the area, so a few colleagues and I decided to come for happy hour. We had a reservation, so they sat us in the back, back. It is surprisingly a very large restaurant! The decor is interesting. It's giving early 2000s "Orientalism", where they just throw all sorts of random Asian-themed items into a room and call it a day. There was a weird amalgamation of Thailand/Chiang Mai, Vietnam rainforest, Japanese Onigiri, and Chinese Tea decor. The menu was "Asian fusion", but in the way that wasn't inventive or particularly adventurous. When a menu says "Bao Bun", which is the equivilent to saying bun bun, then you know you're essentially in a spot where Asian fusion means slapping stuff in a bao or spring roll wrapper and calling it a day. We tried the Lucky Tiger Tempura Shrimp, Karaage Crispy Chicken (another redundancy because karaage is literally fried chicken), Fried Rice with Lemongrass chicken, and Korean Short Rib Tacos. Let's dissect. The Lucky Tiger Tempura Shrimp tasted like the bambam shrimp you'd get at a Chili's. The Korean Short Rib Tacos had no Korean flavors. It actually just tasted like a regular taco. And lastly, the Fried Rice, which was the worst affront of all. It was completely tasteless. Absolutely flavorless. We had to ask for soy sauce and it didn't even make it better. The lemongrass chicken was also completely void of any kind of flavor. And the rice was also wet. Zero wok hay whatsoever. After we ordered, we never saw our waiter ever again until the check came. There was almost no one to flag down. Drinks were fine, but if you're just looking for drinks, go to Split Eights a few blocks away. It's a much better menu and vibe. read more

They say the bar can't handle it but that actually doesn't make any sense since they'll still order a cocktail. I went to the bar to order a forbidden drink and they actually made us move tables. This was also at 4 pm and we were one of two tables filled in the entire restaurant. But hey stick with the illogical house rules.
