Upscale Peruvian artisan restaurant that is a must try! Excellent appetizers and traditional Peruvian touch, with the art, food, and drinks. We enjoyed the artesan ceviche, Lomo Saltado, seafood chaufa (small portion), and sides (yuca fries and plantains). Excellent service during lunch time, it was fairly quiet, and warm ambiance. Thanks to the staff for a great experience. Try the chica morada (purple corn) mocktail - we got a sample initially then full serving!

Booked ahead for early weekday dinner with a friend and had a great meal here! I tried: + Maracuya sour + Pisco sour + Artesano ceviche + Hamachi tiradito + Causa escabechada + Lomo saltado + Peruvian white rice + Brussels sprouts + Choclo Maracuya sour was my favorite of the two cocktails, though the pisco sour was also great. Best bites were the hamachi and the lomo saltado. Choclo dessert was also great and very unique. Overall I prefer Jora or Llama Inn, but this I'd a great option for elevated Peruvian! Would return just for the drinks tbh.

Delicious elevated Peruvian restaurant. One of my favorite spots in Tribeca for great ambiance, service and tasty ceviche and lomo! My favorite dishes are the seafood ceviche, which has nice sized pieces of fish. The lomo has nice moist beef with crispy potatoes and the grilled meats are also delicious. Pisco sours are great too! The corn cake was lovely, but tres leches was deconstructed and didn't quite hit the mark.

Food was generally good although a few dishes weren't as good as they have been in the past. The lomo was a little disappointing, but the norteno rice was nice! The panticucho grill was solid but the octopus wasn't cooked perfectly. The corn cake dessert was great but the kinda deconstructed suspiro had too many elements, that didn't blend well. Service is friendly and they explained all the dishes, albeit in a slightly rushed way. The restaurant is often full and busy, but not overly loud. Good lighting, nicely dim.

Like a 22yo newlywed dispensing martial advice, Artesano has all the right elements but isn't quite ready for primetime yet. Our dinner started off well. We were seated quickly and enjoyed the cozy, quiet, beautifully decorated ambience. The first few courses were stellar: The Artesano Ceviche was everything a classic mixto should be and had plenty of seafood variety, tiger's milk, choclo and sweet potato. The Pulpo al Olivo arrived nicely chewy with a unique accompaniment of tapioca crisps. The entrees were where the inexperience started to show. I will say that our Branzino a La Parrilla was perfectly cooked, but the accompanying aji panca marinade seemed like overkill and was largely unnecessary when you already have a sauced and grilled fish that well done. The spring salad was nice, though, and not too tart. The Mushroom Chifero was a huge disappointment. I was hoping for some true Peruvian-Chinese innovation (a la modern chifa), but this was mostly just large-grained sticky rice with roasted maitake mushrooms that were ruined by a completely unnecessary sweet and tart tamarind sauce. It felt like, in the interest of being creative and unique, they decided to throw in a fruit sauce to stir things up--but what is the point of serving a fried rice dish with fried garlic, scallions and mushrooms if you're just going to drown it in tamarind? I didn't want to order this but was convinced to get aside dish of Truffle Yuca Fries. They were fine, but the truffle flavor was weak and they really needed the accompanying huancaina sauce to import any flavor. I get that yuca is a pretty flavorless starch vegetable, which is why I didn't really want to pay $18 (yes, $18) for this side dish. After the entrees, the service team dropped the ball harder than Aaron Rodgers last month in Dublin. We waited at least 20 min, but no one came to clear our plates, check on us or ask if we wanted dessert. By this time, the restaurant had filled up and the vibe had turned distinctly clubby: my geriatric ears could hardly hear anything over the thunderous bass of DJ Whats-His-Face and MC Who-Knows-That. When we finally flagged down a server, ordered dessert and finished it, well....it wasn't worth the hassle. I forget the name of the dessert, but it was Choclo something and featured corn sponge cake, corn mousse, chulpi praline, and mango gel. The sponge cake had perfect texture but barely any corn flavor. The corn mousse was lovely, but the mango gel overwhelmed it and felt unnecessary. When we paid and left, no one acknowledged us or thanked us. Guess they couldn't hear us through the pulsating beats. All in all, a tepid finish to a promising start.

My bf and I wanted one last good meal in NYC before heading to the airport, and Artesano Peruvian Cuisine in Tribeca delivered. I've had this spot bookmarked for a while, and I'm so glad we squeezed it in before our flight. It's just a short walk from our hotel and ended up being the perfect send-off meal. The space is stylish, modern, and slightly upscale without feeling stuffy. From the moment we walked in, every staff member greeted us with genuine warmth and friendliness. We were actually the first ones at the door right when they opened at 11am, so we went with their brunch menu. We ordered: Ceviche Mixto - Clean, bright, and super fresh with beautiful plating. A strong example of modern, elevated Peruvian ceviche. Pork Belly Sliders - My bf's choice. He really enjoyed them but mentioned they were more of a sandwich than true sliders, so the menu description could use a tweak. Fish Sandwich - The fish was fresh, firm yet flaky, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was on point. Artesano is where Peruvian tradition meets modern fine dining. If you love Peruvian flavors and appreciate thoughtful presentation in a stylish setting, this is a must-visit in Tribeca.

This was my second time at Artesano with the last one for dinner and this one for lunch. I am not from NYC and it says a lot if I intentionally decided to come back for lunch 1.5 years after my original visit. Since my last visit, I have recommended others to go try the food here and they have all raved about Artesano. Having been to Peru many years ago, I feel the food is here just as good as some of the top Michelin restaurants in Lima. I forgot to write a review on my last visit but today I stopped for lunch and although it's a limited menu, we tried the Aretesano ceviche in Tiger's milk and the fish sandwich. Both were outstanding. The fish sandwich was so light and some of the best I've had. Service was great and it's a beautiful space

I went to this place on a Saturday night with a friend of mine & they were packed but rightfully so. The maître d' was very accommodating as we didn't have reservations & asked some people kindly to shift over a couple seats at the bar to make space for us. The bartenders were also friendly and explained the menu well. We ordered the yuca truffle fries and artesano ceviche to share & both were delicious. Particularly the ceviche stood out as it had a very unique marinade to it which was tiger's milk. I also had a pisco sour which was tasty. All in all, I'd definitely be back.

So we decided to celebrate our anniversary at this Amazing restaurant. We loved it! The place is small and intimate, very aesthetic. My husband went with the TASTING MENU, little bit of different Peruvian dishes and I went with the Artesano Ceviche, Brussels sprout and Branzino. OMG! The Peruvian Flavors were all there, but in an elevated level. The drinks amazing and staff very attentive and polite. It is pricey but worth every penny! I'm so glad we got to experience this Restaurant, married to a Peruvian I can tell their cuisine is very authentic. Go try it ppl! You won't be disappointed. Thank you guys @artesano

Tasting menu review: This place has been on my list for a long time, I finally got to try it last month. The tasting menu is thoughtful and provides a great overview of Peruvian cuisine. 1. Environment: the decor is lovely, it feels artsy, welcoming and clean. Me and my friend sat at the bar top so we got to see everything be prepared - which is engaging and makes the experience really fun. 2. Food & drink: the food overall is good not out of this world amazing. The only thing that really wow'd me was the "potato" for dessert. The visual is fun but even then the lucuma taste was very mild. I wanted my friend to really get the taste of it and she said she couldn't distinguish any flavor from the chocolate. The pisco sour gets an A+, tart and smooth. 3: Service: the staff is kind, and hospitable. Every dish was accompanied by a brief description and the intention of the dish. This created a sense of appreciation for Peruvian culture. All in all, I would suggest it if you have money to spend. However, it's pricey and there are probably other Peruvian restaurants with lower end food that you can try first if money is tight (I mean in this economy we're all struggling)

They serve Peruvian food. The ambiance and service are both great. The dishes are interesting and have a lot of flavor, but overall this place is on the pricey side.

I live by a few cardinal rules One of them is that cheese with seafood is a sin so heinous, that imprisonment and corporal punishment are worthy. If done so inappropriately, I wouldn't rule out capital punishment. Good thing I'm not a dictator or a judge on Top Chef. Artesano changed my mind on this matter with one dish. Let me tell you, when I saw scallops with cheese fondue and Parmesan cracker I shuttered. I looked deep into my sentience and decided to take a risk and defy one of my foundational culinary guidestones. And it was breathtaking!! Followed with the short rib and Peruvian gems dessert, I was at a loss for words, gobsmacked by my shortsighted skepticism on this incredible cuisine. Can't wait to come back!!

Great service and great food! Overall this was some of the best food I've had in a while dinning out. The service was on point, and the ambiance was perfect, not loud, reasonable lighting, and nice interior design. ARTESANO CEVICHE, ARTESANO CRISPY RICE, NIKKEI TUNA TARTARE and the MORAY for dessert are all dishes that I would absolutely order again.
