Disappointed. We've been ordering from Lucky Yee for years and it was always very good. L. Even when they delivered it was hot and timely and very tasty. Last night there wasn't anything that I'd recommend. Their wings went from 10 to 6, okay, maybe that's what people want. Overcooked to inedible. We ordered three entrees and they were all meh at best. The chicken and broccoli was the only thing that was okay. The house fried rice was soggy and had no flavor. Total lack of proteins as well. The noodle bowl seemed to have changed recipes, and it was not good. No idea as to what changed, whether the recipes, the ownership, or how they cook food. My husband and I love this place! It's a small carry out place. We get it at least once or twice a month. It's close and it is always super hot when it arrives. The portion sizes are huge, so we end up getting at least two meals out of one dish. We have several Chinese restaurants we like and we don't normally like what everyone else likes. But this place is by far one of our favorites. My husband always gets sweet and sour pork and fried dumplings (he's not very adventurous) and he's never disappointed. I switch it up every time and I have never not liked something. My favorite is their shrimp mai fun. I have been waiting a while to write this review. I have been going to Lucky Yee for about 3 years now, and I can confidently say it is the best Chinese food I have ever had. The staff is so friendly, and they remember you when you go in which makes for a nice family feel. I have lived in 4 different states in the last 10 years, and my local Chinese food place has changed multiple times based on where I live. After a 2 year hiatus, I moved back to Columbus where I am blessed to be reunited with Lucky Yee. I have officially tried 16 different entrees on the menu, and not even one has missed. Everything here is amazing! Lucky Yee will always have my heart, and I am blessed to call it my local spot. P.S. their food tastes just as good the next day when you heat up your leftovers. This place has gone downhill in the past years... Today we ordered sizzling rice soup and instead of actual crisped rice, we got a bag full of Rice Krispies cereal to add to our soup. Also, my Curry was lacking color and depth. The curry sauce was runny and had some curry flavor... barely. The vegetables were clearly frozen and lack color / firmness. Hit or miss food products. Spice level ranges from none to inedible. Sauces range from good to inedible. With all this, they are no longer our go to place. I have a three strikes rule when it comes to restaurants. This place is on strike two. I ordered the fried rice and soup the first time. The rice was hard and greasy, the soup was watery and WAY too salty... The second time, I ordered the General Tso. The "chicken " was a mystery meat that was stringy and tasteless. As a resident of nearby Johnstown and not having too many dinnertime options out our way, sometimes we have to venture out to the nearby cities to find something new and hope for something good. It just so happens that my wife was in the mood for Chinese and we had already tried our local Chinese place, so we gave Lucky Yee of New Albany a try. I was pleased to see on their online menu (a good user-friendly website: not every indie Chinese place can say so) that they had lots of vegetarian options. In fact, it seems like they might make most everything on their menu into a vegetarian option if prompted to do so. As a vegetarian, I get a hankering for something from the olden days, without the guilt of eating an animal. So I told the person who took my phone order that I wanted sweet and sour "chicken" but with fried tofu to replace the chicken. She seemed to know exactly what I meant and needed no further clarification, which can sometimes be scary as a veg, but was much appreciated in this case. We ordered the crispy noodles, which was a bit of a mistake on my part, because I didn't understand exactly what they were. Ignorant in knowledge of Chinese food, I thought it would be like lo mein, which I did not see on the menu. It was like noodle chips, which were very tasty, just not what I had in mind! My wife ordered the siam tofu and I liked her meal a lot- I may get THAT next time. My sweet and sour -tofu- was pretty good. The sauce was great, but the tofu was a little bit thicker than I expected and not fried like I had hoped. So it had a decent taste, but the We would try this place again next time we want Chinese and we're in New Albany. I have gone to Lucky Ye since I moved to the new Albany area about seven years ago. I always raved about how good the food was. I went with a friend last night, and I asked the lady at the counter if we could dine in and she said sure, we made our order and we sat at the table. She brought us our dinner in containers wrapped up in a plastic to go bag. I told her we were eating in and she said that's fine go ahead. I asked if we could have some plates and she said "you want plates" I said yes please, so she got us a couple plates. I then asked if I could have a fork and she said there were utensils in the bag. I said I would just as soon have a metal fork if possible. And after a roll of her eyes she got us both a metal fork. Now let's start with the food! The eggroll was horrible! I took two bites of it, and never finished it. The wonton soup, which used to be so good, was absolutely awful. I ordered moo goo gai pan, and that was pretty good. The fried rice was the best of the meal. I will not be going back to that place again ever! I made the unfortunate mistake of going to the restroom. I haven't seen such grime in a public restroom in years. The light switch and around the door knob was just black! Horrible! I placed an order for delivery on-line. The estimated delivery time was 1 hr later. The estimated time came and went. I gave it another 15-20 minutes, then called. The line was busy for the next 25-30 minutes. Finally, I got through and they claimed my order was getting ready to go out for delivery. At this point, it had been nearly 2 hrs after I ordered and 45-50 minutes after the estimated time. So, I canceled. I was assured my card would not be charged. read more

We have enjoyed Lucky Yee multiple times. The Double Cooked Pork is fabulous. All the soups are tasty. Everything is prepared to order and quick. The cooks will adjust to your tastes. This is a small place. You can phone in your request or order at the counter then can eat there or take out. The dining room is functional for the location. They deliver as well, but I have not done that yet. This is our favorite in the area. read more
