I'm in PT REHAB and one of my daughters brought lunch from here. Egg rolls which we devoured so no pix. Combo lo mein and chicken with broccoli. She picked up order and they packed all the dishes securely and included napkins, chop sticks, sauces And a menu. The food was delicious. Seasoned and presented well. We love Asian food but. A lot of places have slacked off on quality and quantity. Not Asian taste. Egg rolls were filled with tasty foods and crispy. They held together when I took bite!! Next time we'll eat in. This is a locally owned Chinese restaurant in New Albany. Along time ago used to have a larger menu and it also had a super secret authentic Chinese menu that you could get that hat everything written in Chinese... Rumor has it it's still exist!!! What I like about this place is it small and it's consistent you can get your food customized and the family is really nice. The food is always fresh and Price seems to be fair. This is the place we have been searching for!! My husband and I think we have found the best pad Thai and also the best General Tsos! We ordered while driving from the Gahanna area. 16 min later it was hot and ready! We got it home and it was still hot and delicious! The crab Rangoon is not amazing, but the sauce was unique! Really high level Chinese takeout here with quality options for both Americanized classics and traditional Chinese dishes. Nothing makes me happier than being able to get a good General Tso's Chicken and a Cantonese Chow Fun at the same spot. They also have this incredible thing called a Scallion Pancake Roll. They take an already great crispy, chewy scallion pancake rolled up with deli ham, egg, and cilantro with a nice soy dipping sauce. I had high hopes trying to find a good Chinese food place near me. Granted, I'm comparing to Lei's Asian Bistro, so the bar is pretty high. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and steamed dumplings via phone. That is the only way to order. The order was taken by a less than enthusiastic employee. They don't offer fountain soda, FYI. I was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes, 20 minutes later, I walked into a small, clean, looking dining room. The employee was on her phone and barely acknowledged me. She was short and not super friendly. I got my order home, and the dumplings were probably the highlight, plenty of well seasoned filling, and the dumplings had pleasing texture. The dipping sauce was delicious. The Chicken Fried Rice was meh. It was pretty bland with small pieces of chicken white and dark meat. I was impressed the veggies looked and tasted fresh and the addition of scallions. We also buy, Chinese donuts . These are fried donuts , round shape rolled into sugar. The mild saltine taste in the dough made it more tasty. This place is a bit overrated. Not only on the Yelp reviews but also from locals. I had heard about this place from a former coworker who lived in New Albany. She said it was by far the best. So I've had it on my bookmarked list for probably 2-3 years. I live in the Short North so New Albany is out of my way. However, Chinese New Year fell on a Friday this year, so I was like "What the heck?! I'll drive there for a to-go order." What a way to celebrate the Lunar New Year! I'll start with the pros: -Ordering process was seamless. I called it in about 5:30p for a 7:30p pickup and it was ready as soon as I walked in. Just gave them my name, they had me pay and handed me my bag. -Food is well-priced for what you get. All told $11 for a giant portion. -Portion size is its own "pro."- I got the sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice and a Spring roll. The S&S chicken portion easily feeds two. I ate dinner that night and had a heart portion for leftovers the next day. Cons: -Really the main con here is that honestly it's not that good. I felt like the sauce wasn't flavorful enough. I even thought during the 20 minute drive home "shouldn't I be salivating over the delicious aroma of this food?" It smelled like nothing. And when I ate it, there was some flavor, but not much. The cafeteria at my work makes better S&S chicken in my opinion. -No fortune cookie! :( This had to be the first Asian restaurant I've ever gotten takeout from with no fortune cookie. Bummer! All told, I would not go out of my way to come here again. I arguably wouldn't really even go even if I'm in the area. But if a friend really wanted to come here, I'd just do it. I have eaten at Asian Taste a number of times - it's one of my favorite places to get Chinese food from. They have a lot of great-sounding dishes but I never seem to get beyond their General Tso's Chicken. Asian Taste has found a way to get a crispy outside on the chicken but somehow keep the chicken moist on the inside. Their spring rolls & hot and sour soup are pretty good too. The staff is always friendly and courteous. They bring out the dishes quicker than any other Chinese restaurant I have been to. I have noticed they seem to do a lot of take-out orders. I like this restaurant and recommend it because it's a little off the beaten path. So good! We ordered ma po tofu, three cup chicken, general Tsos chicken, scallion pancakes, beef chow fun, hot and sour soup and 2 egg rolls for ~$60. It was so much food! Plus, each main dish came with a side of white rice, fried rice or lomein noodles - we got one of each. The hot and sour soup and egg rolls weren't my favorites in town, but they were still good! The scallion pancakes and three cup chicken reminded me of my dad's. The ma po tofu had a good ratio of meat to sauce to tofu - could be a little spicier, but I'm sure you could ask them to make it the way you like. The beef chow fun was so good and had quite a lot of beef in it! Only thing we realized was that we didn't order much vegetables, but we learned for next time! I am in town from Pittsburgh and miss good Chinese. There are two menus. A peach color menu which is authentic Asian. The white menu is the traditional Asian dishes you can get about anywhere. In Pittsburgh (I don't want to sell it short - we have really good food here) I have not been able to find a really good Chinese restaurant. Most places are those who have the same supplier and are processed / prepare. Therefore, I stay away from the Chinese prepare-er restaurants. The food was on point. Ordered some Beef Mongolian with Rice (traditional menu) for my elderly mother who was craving some take-out and fan tail shrimp as an appetizer. We thoroughly enjoyed it. This will be a go-to since my mother has limited ability to get good Asian food (and I love good Chinese food). Check this out - give it a shot. Atmosphere - It just opened but it was clean, white table clothes Price - prices were on point and the lunch menu was $5-7. This has been my go to Asian spot since I moved to New Albany. Anita and her family take care of everyone. I have a love hate relationship with how popular they are when I'm hungry! It gets crowded. I love that there's an authentic menu, as well as classic favorites, but I've even asked Anita to just make me something because I didn't know what I wanted. She's never let me down. I also respect that she and her family take time for themselves so closed on Sunday's and an annual vacation she laughs because before they leave I order Fried Rice, Chow Fun, Egg rolls, hot and Sour soup and Hot Spiced Chicken Wings or Fish and then vacuum seal and freeze it so I have it while they are out of town. read more

I've been here twice and each time I've been pretty impressed. What I like is that there is an "American Chinese" menu and then a "Chinese Chinese" menu. Last time I was there, one of the ladies recommended trying something off the "Chinese menu".....had some of the seafood soup. Was good but was served family style. So plan on splitting it between at least 2 people. First I went, I had the General Tso's chicken (don't judge me). It was very good!! The hot & sour soup is just okay. This is my favorite Asian Restaurant in New Albany! They have daily lunch special Monday through Friday everyday for $5.99. They change the special menu like once a month I believe. The lunch special is a great deal for the quality and portion of the food. I love how they have 2 choices for daily special so you won't be limited to only one. Daily special also come with egg roll OR soup(can't beat that)! Some people might not know, but they also have authentic Chinese food. You will have to ask for a special Chinese menu but it is all in Chinese so if you can't read Chinese then you might need the server to translate for you. I always do carry out during lunch time because it could be a little busy dining in. The carry out order usually ready in about 10-15 minutes so its very convenient. This place is a hidden gem! Do not let the small number of reviews or the look of the restaurant fool you! I initially went to Asian Taste simply because my friends and I were on our way back to Columbus from a tiring day out at a nearby fruit farm. We wanted Chinese and this place popped up on Yelp with a mere 7 reviews. Judging by its location and size, I had already assumed it would be just your regular Chinese joint. BUT, what we found in the end, was truly a hidden gem. We're a group of international students who go to OSU and we've been searching high and low for some authentic Chinese food (unfortunately, nothing up-to-par can be found around the campus area) and we found it here in New Albany! We were a group of 7 and had ordered 5 dishes - including a wintermelon soup. I highly recommend the Superior Pickle Sauce Fish and the soup. This is as authentic as it gets in terms of a Cantonese style, Chinese food. We loved how the food was very nicely presented and had a very low price for our student budgets! If you're used to "Americanized" Chinese dishes, I'd recommend you try the authentic dishes, and steer away from the usual General Tso, Orange Chicken etc kind of orders. Great place. My wife was stumping for a visit downtown to an Asian restaurant that I did not believe was worth the trip. I asked her to look up Asian food closer to us (in Westerville) and my wife came up with this gem. Drove the back roads to the strip mall in New Albany that houses this restaurant, next to the Giant Eagle. This is your pretty typical Chinese restaurant in appearance. We got a table at the sparsely populated spot (it was Saturday night, but there was a snowstorm going on outside). The menu was quite nice; a mix of Korean, Chinese and Thai dishes. The descriptions could use a little work - a lot dishes were described as "chicken, vegetables, in a spicy sauce." There were a handful of these descriptions, so I asked for a recommendation from our server, who suggested a Korean dish that fit this description, leading me to the conclusion that the ownership was likely Korean, versus Chinese or Thai. As we were waiting, a large amount of silver-clad food was amassed at a center table. Between this big catering job and a lot of take-out/delivery (again, it was snowing), our food took a long time. We split two orders of chicken-corn-soup, that was a lot like egg-drop soup. Pretty good. We split an order of crab Rangood; also solid. Kids split an order of fried rice, which was pretty good. I got a spicy Korean chicken & veggie dish, which was good. Wife got Pad thai, which was OK. Toss in 3 soft drinks and an order of tea for me, and the grand total was $43.
