Super late review -…read more I'm sad. I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. I don't want to be that person when this place has an overall rating of 4.5 but this is just my honest opinion. I got the blue dream and yes it was very ascetically pleasing, but it was just too icy. Before coming to this place i read a couple of reviews that also said the same thing and i didn't understand what that meant, but now I do. There are a lot of flavorless, just regular, small shards of ice in the bowl. On top of that, the moment I received my bowl, it was already borderline melted. So that got me thinking, how can it be melted and icy at the same time? The only explanation that I can think of is just ice additive/fillers. It's not pure cold acai or whatever is in the bowl you choose, but there's a mixture of ice in it too. Yes I understand, it's Waikiki, everything is more expensive, but the added topping prices on top of the already expensive bowl prices just don't make sense. You want a beautiful looking bowl with a lot of different toppings, yet some toppings can go up to 1 dollar PER topping. I don't know if I've just been spoiled by a couple places in SoCal, but at those places they have unlimited toppings and those bowls are the best that there is. I'm not bringing any bias from other locations, but this is just an honest review based on my experience today.

That said, I don't care what era we're talking about; Waffle and Berry is the GOAT of breakfast. I actually found myself looking into the kitchen, wondering if my grandma was back there making those incredible homemade grits. Every bite tasted like comfort and home. I had the Shrimp & Grits Bowl, and it was outstanding. And shoutout to the beef sausage... Absolutely delicious! From the moment we arrived before the doors opened until the time we left, the owner and the entire team were outstanding. The hospitality was genuine, the food was exceptional, and they even went out of their way to make the experience extra special for our 2-year-old and our 8-year-old. We're visiting from St. Louis, and this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for the amazing food, the warm hospitality, and the memories. We'll definitely be back....before we leave. If you're looking for breakfast, stop comparing stats; this place is the undisputed GOAT.

It's a little tricky to find, but that seemed to be a theme at this rather poorly labeled mall which had few directories. Eventually we found it, though! It's quite small with only a few tables, but the decor is very cool and Hawaiian inside. The staff were also very friendly and explained different aspects of the various beverage since this was our first time visiting. I had the frozen banana kona mocha which was really pleasant and extremely refreshing on a warm tropical day after strolling around this largely open air mall. The drink was extremely smooth and refreshing, although I will say it was a bit light on the banana flavor but still very good overall! This is a good option to grab a beverage during your Ala Moana shopping trip!
