Overall pretty tasty. They had a good amount of options on the menu. I will say I have had better in other spots however this spot is right off the beach and so it's a great quick grab and go. There is very limited seating so be warned but overall a great spot for an açaí bowl!

A friend told me this was the best açaí on Oahu and I have to agree!! I love the ability to choose a premade signature bowl or to create your own. They allowed me to substitute raspberries for blueberries on my Tropical Tribe Bowl and of course I had to go with the Hawaiian base! There is some seating inside but there are also tables on the patio or you could even take your bowl to go and sit on the beach. This was the perfect treat after spending a morning surfing!

We wanted to try another açaí bowl this morning so we opted for Tropical Tribe. We ordered a large to share and it was tasty! While enjoying our original bowl with the premium topping we were able to enjoy the beach views as well. Definitely recommend this place if you are into açaí bowls.

Today was our first time trying Tropical Tribe. Based on the Yelp reviews, it seemed like a great place to get an açaí bowl. I ordered 2 bowls and a Brazilian bread because it looked soft and would be a good snack. I got one for my mom and when I ordered 1 piece, they said they only had one piece left to sell so that was great! She bagged it for me and I handed it to my mom and she bit into it and it was hard! It was definitely not fresh! I'm so bummed that they would even sell this when it's hard. I let the cashier know and she said she'll take care of it and went to the back. So I waited a bit, and when I got our bowls, we asked if we were still getting the bread, if not it's okay. She just let me know they're still making it and it may take awhile. So she started taking other peoples orders and things, and I decided to ask how long do you think itd take and she said 20 min!!! they never mentioned that at all, and she did admit that she forgot to communicate it to me. I ended up just getting a refund for the bread. Had I known it would take that long, I would also just use that to get additional toppings or something. We were trying to get in and out as well since we had the free validation for parking.

Great spot for an acai bowl by the beach!! They have a few tables inside the shop but there's no A/C so you might as well just take it to go! They have two bases for the acai: tropical tribe (Brazilian style) and Hawaiian (local style). Apparently the tropical tribe is the best seller but in our opinion the Hawaiian style was better--it's sweeter. The tropical tribe was still good, we just found the flavors to be more muted. There really isn't much of the base in the small bowl, but the ratio of base to granola was pretty good and the fruit was fresh!

Amazing! If you're craving açaí, this won't fail you. Right next to the beach so you can sit in the sand and enjoy.

Wow just wow! My açaí bowl was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness with a touch of honey. You can tell that the açaí base and fruit were fresh. Best açaí bowl I had this week!

It took us a few searches to find the right location but we found it none the less! When you Google search this place it doesn't show up and the location in Ala Moana pointed us to them. Be ready to hunt for parking! Located near the Army Museum and right on the beach we were able to pay for parking at the museum lot a block or so away across the street. The store is located behind the Steak and Shake shop. There's dedicated seating just for Tropical Tribe guests. The windows have a view of the beach and shaded from the sun. The food size is huge! Recommend sharing. All the fruit on the Tropical bowl I ordered was fresh and sweet. The ratio of fruit to acai is well balanced. Service was friendly and patient as we had lots of questions ‍ my husband and two sons ordered the protein bowl and added some chocolate chip looking bean (some local fruit bean) and they were both thoroughly satisfied. If they have cheesy bread, make sure you give it a try and dipped with condensed milk--total game changer ‍ Now that I am back in DC, I am totally craving and missing the quality of Tropical Tribe acai bowls. So worth the trip!

Sunset toppings on the açaí bowl with added peanut butter

Fresh, healthy and beautiful! Located right on the beach, this location will give you all the surfer feels. I stayed at the Hale Koa hotel right down the road and ended up walking here numerous days to get açaí bowls and occasionally coffee. The açaí bowls come in 3 sizes and I promise that even the smallest one is enough for a meal. Delightful staff members keep the shop extra tidy and have rules and procedures to ensure the line moves quickly. My repeated order consisted of the tropical tribe bowl with the pre-made sunset toppings. Eventually I started to pay extra to add peanut butter on top of the bowls which reminds me that you can also build your own bowls like many other açaí shops. Once in a while I would get the coconut vanilla latte hot which was also perfect. There are tables inside but I recommend the walking back outside to the beach because well, you're on a beach! Mahalo!

Regular Hawaiian Bowl - with Premium topping + goji berries

Refreshing acai bowl! I added on goji berries to my toppings, and they did not skimp! Absolutely delicious. Service was great, and they have a free water refill station. Great location right on the beach of Waikiki. My only complaint was that the cup was filled less than halfway with acai. I'm used to other acai shops where the bowl is filled almost to the rim with acai, and the toppings are stacked on top, overflowing the bowl. Here, they fill everything up (acai and toppings) to fit inside the bowl. I cannot imagine you get much acai in the "small" size.

I have never tried an açaí bowl in my life because i thought it was some new age hipster type food. I was clearly wrong I am glad I was perusing YouTube videos of best places to try in Waikīkī and this place was recommended. I had the açaí bowl with berries, strawberries, and granola. It was drizzled in honey. Life changing for sure. And they also had some Brazilian pao de queijo (cheesy bread). It was great start to my morning. Will come back when I return to Oahu.

Bulletproof Coffee

It's a small shop under a resort and you have the view of the ocean. I needed a caffeine boost and wanted to try a Hawaiian coffee shop. I order a Bulletproof coffee, it had a description of mental clarity and energy boost which I needed after a six hour flight. It only comes in hot, it had cinnamon but it's not sweet. It definitely did the job of giving me energy all day. The service was good, the cashier greeted me and made my drink. The best part is seeing the ocean with a hit of caffeine.

I highly recommend stopping in and grabbing their coconut peanut butter or macadamia nut peanut butter. They also have several other variations, including chocolate. They also offer local honey. Their peanut butter is highly sought after back in the states. So if you're here grab a combo and give it a try, you just might find yourself ordering some online once you've given it a try.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
