I stopped in for lunch at Spargo's and had a pretty good experience overall. The food was decent -- I ordered a gyro sandwich with fries and a fountain Coke. It was enjoyable, but honestly, more average than excellent. The service, however, was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and fast. The place itself was also very clean and comfortable, which I really appreciate. Price-wise, I can see what others have mentioned. My lunch came to $21 before tip, which feels a bit steep for what I got. Nothing about the meal really stood out enough to justify making this a regular spot for me. That said, if friends or coworkers wanted to go, I'd have no objection to returning. I was looking for breakfast because my hotel "Free breakfast" turned out to be an empty pot of coffee and stale cheerios. I turned to yelp and found Spargos and was not disappointed! It is excellent, a bit pricey, but far superior to the big chains and just costs a little more. I'm sure there are little mom and pop joints that are less expensive as well, but this place gives you what you pay for. I heard the pink dressing is good here so I had to try it--let me tell you it is WORTH THE HYPE! I loved how chopped up the lettuce was because nothing annoys me more than giant chunks of lettuce. This was thee absolute worst experience I ever had at any restaurant. On today March 5, 2026 I pulled into the parking lot for breakfast and wondered why they didn't have not 1 customer. My & my elderly mom proceeded to order. Starting with coffee, the worst I ever had so I sent it back for lemon water which was also not good but it's water so okay. We both ordered a gyro omelet which I wasn't happy with. It was tasteless and dry with no sauce or cheese and I asked why and waitress says it comes separately. So I decided I didn't want to pay 15.99 for a meal I can't eat. I told him I didn't want it while my mother proceeded to eat. The cook/owner says he refuse to take it back and I said fine I'm not paying for it. While my mother was eating he abruptly snatched the fork out of her mouth and snatched the plate and told us to get out. He was rude and disrespectful and upset my mom. She wanted to eat because she was hungry but he told us she had to leave because she was with me. He continued to yell at us on the way out with insults and told us to go to Chuckie Cheese. The food is terrible and the coffee to. The restaurant was clean but the owner is rude and greedy and intimidated an elderly woman. Never eat there again. read more

One of my fav lunch spots to hit up when I'm at work. This coney is conveniently located at the end of a plaza at University and 75. All your coney favorites are on the menu, and Greek favorites. Their saganaki is on point and they also offer a creamy Greek dressing (with beet juice). The restaurant has recently been redecorated. This is a great place for the Auburn Hills business district. They have carry out (just go to the back counter for speedy service!), and a large dining area both inside and outside. They are a tad pricey, but you certainly get what you paid for. I met a friend for lunch and I ordered a Reuben sandwich and we shared saganaki. Both my sandwich and the saganaki were good and tasty. Their menu is extensive with many salads, sandwiches, soups, Coney's, chili, gyros and many great breakfast options. The service was good without being overbearing. Have to update our review after a poor experience at lunch today. We had Faith as a server, and she acts like she couldn't care less about the customers' experience. She is cordial, and it stops there. First, we were placed in a booth by Faith that was dirty. The table had been, wiped and all those crumbs were piled up all over the bench, where we are supposed to sit on. As she came back over, I was still standing, brushing crumbs off the booth. She pretended not to notice and she just asked what we wanted to drink, while we are still standing and wiping the booth, instead of apologizing or attempting to help the dirty booth get ready for us to sit. The booth should be clean beforehand, but if there's an issue, the server should care enough to fix it. She asked what I wanted to drink, I asked for two waters with lots of ice. She brings out water glasses that have been clearly poured five or 10 minutes previous to us arriving, with tons of condensation all over the glasses, and melted ice at the very top of the glass. If a customer cares enough to ask for things such as lots of ice, or well done, or extra napkins, that's a service job to hear those requests and to fulfill them. If a customer cares enough to ask for it directly, the server should be accommodating these reasonable requests. Then, I asked for franks hot sauce for my lemon rice soup appetizer. I said, "can I please have some Franks for this *points to soup* real quick?" She said "yes", and instead of quickly grabbing it, she let me sit for nearly 10 minutes, as I watched my hot soup turn to room temperature, as she plugged in our order to the computer, brought drinks to another table, took their order, plugged in their order into their computer.... Etc. My partner had to stop her, to ask a second time, she said yes, but then still serviced another table before eventually giving me the hot sauce. Zeroooo sense of urgency, no consideration. By this time, my soup wasn't warm or appetizing. So I had to ask for it to be taken back/off the bill since our main meal was being delivered. As she drops off our lunch, half our order was still missing. She said, "do you need anything else?" I was so confused and confirmed she was the one who took our order. She said yes so I said, "well our food isn't all here... we also ordered xyz." She eventually brought it all out. Bacon in the BTL isn't crispy, even though I emphasized "extra, extra crispy" sausage in the breakfast skillet was undercooked and not even browned up. Food was rushed out by the kitchen with little to no care. Every time our server came by, she neglected to grab a dirty plate off the table, had multiple touch points where she could have cleared a dirty plate out of our way. Our server did not care, and it was evident, as she was basically cordial at best. I'm sorry to leave a negative review, because I know the owner cares a lot and takes pride in the restaurant. Things need to be tightened up though. It was not what it was in all our numerous past visits. read more

The atmosphere is modern and rustic with a large open area to find a place to sit. How do you review a Coney Island when their a dime a dozen in this city? This one's different from the others, but it was just okay. I was on this side of town doing some Secretary of State stuff, and didn't feel like going to my usual Saturday morning coney for breakfast. I thought it was time to change things up, and figured it was time to give this place a shot. On the up side, this place has a really cool interior. Cooler then most ,which all kind of the run the same insides after a while. Fresh, modern and sheik, what a difference a cool interior will do. I looked at the menu, and there were plenty of options, prices a little higher then a Leos or a Kirby. I went with two eggs, hash browns and toast. The eggs were okay, Hash browns looked kind of funny. One half was dark and cooked different and the other was normal...brown on the outside and still cooked on the inside. It tasted all the same, but looks like maybe he cooked one part more then the other? Very weird. Funny enough, the Toast was the best part. Don't ask me why. Better then the generic toast, I liked it. The only downfall? After I got my food I never saw my server again. I mean, she was still in the restaurant, but waiting on other tables. I don't know if they switched sections, but the other girl started waiting on me and both forgot that I had coffee. I finished my coffee early in the meal and could have used a refill, but couldn't get my servers attention. Eventually the other server came over to clear my plates and I asked her for a coffee refill. I stayed since I really needed the coffee badly. Overall, this place isn't bad, just not a spot I would call my regular coney spot. read more

My work used to order from here always but it's been a snowball downhill. Long black hair in a sandwich, from an order missing 2 items. We always have a large order so we do our best to check before we leave but $120 later and we have 2 people missing food and another with hair in their mouth. I absolutely love the food at Spargo's! I would hardly call it a Coney Island; it exceeds my expectations in every way. The waitresses are amazing here! They are super friendly and so efficient, plus they look good while doing it! My food always comes out in a timely manner and is served with a smile I will be coming back here often!! I would call Spargo's more of an upscale coney-style restaurant. Very close to my office, this is our go-to for a quick lunch or carry out. They do the core items very well; salads, sandwich wraps and of course, breakfast. Service is always on point, very quick. Guys from my office have been telling me how great this lunch spot is that they go to EVERY day. I decided to tag along and was not disappointed, we were greeted at the door immediately by a very polite and beautiful waitress named Destinee. We were seated immediately which was surprising because there was 5 of us. I ordered the lemon rice soup which was amazing, followed by their famous greek salad with chicken. This salad had everything and then some, the amount of chicken was perfect and the way the salad was presented really showed that they pay attention to the small things. Right from the beginning we got a weird vibe. Server asked us what we'd like to drink, coffee with creamer, hot tea, and 2 waters. Asked if my mom wanted black tea or green tea. She said black, server came back with coffee and green tea, no creamer, no waters. After asking twice we finally got creamer and a black tea. Asked 4 more times for water throughout our meal. Never got them. My strawberry French toast had no whip cream on it. And my moms gyro platter came with no sauce. Had to ask her two separate times for it. The food was VERY good however. And it came out VERY fast. Maybe this was just an off day for the servers. And she did stop by quite a few times during our visit, even if she didn't have what we needed or asked for. We've had other visits here that went very well so Im not going to give them a bad star score. I suggest trying this place, but don't expect 5 star service. read more

Lovin' me some Spargo's. I typically stay away from Coney Island's in Detroit. No reason other than I always thought I would come out smelling like "diner" and have to go meet with a client. I've been to Spargo's twice now. The food and service are great! Great value too. I've had a salad both times, but it was fresh and delicious. If you are looking for "FAST" and are not concerned with the quality of your food, Spargo's Coney Island is your restaurant. I think they should advertise "we get em' in and get em' out" as their slogan. I stopped in for lunch today with a colleague and ordered a saganaki as an appetizer and a Greek salad with euro meat as my meal. My coworker order chicken fingers with fries. In less than three minutes (90 seconds) my salad and the chicken fingers showed up. 5 minutes later the flaming cheese came to the table. I left my salad untouched until after we ate the saganaki. The check was left on the table a good 12 minutes in to our experience. Despite the fact that were checked out, I ordered a rice pudding for dessert (optimistic that it would be home made), but sent it back as it was just nasty! I asked for it to be warmed and with cinnamon but our waitress who had her painted on tights, said they were out of cinnamon. The rice was crunchy, it was unstirred and cold, watery and just nasty. I'm not sure what component of my lunch was off, but I had to leave work early as I was in so much pain with abdominal cramping. If you are seeking "FAST" & have no consideration for quality, Spargo's Coney Island is your restaurant. I won't be back. read more
