Food was really good. Service great! Clean restaurant and had a very authentic feel. Definitely coming back for breakfast. Salsa is not from a can :) and has a good kick. I will be back to try dinner but breakfast hit the spot. The food portion was good, cafe de olla was delicious and the French toast is one not to miss out on. Come if you haven't. It's worth the try!

Absolutely LOVE this burrito. The tortilla was nice and toasted on the outside, perfect amount of bacon, egg, and potatoes, and it just tasted great. I would love to swing by again soon just for this burrito alone. Aside from that, the interior is very clean, very relaxed environment, and the service was just top notch. Lucy's Diner is a hidden gem in Fontana. My family and I stopped by for the first time a week ago and really enjoyed our visit. The service was five stars on its own. We were warmly greeted upon arriving. The woman who checked us in and showed us to our table made us feel as if we were regulars she sees daily, even though it was our first time there. We came in on a weekend at lunch and they were packed. It's apparent Lucy's Diner is popular and rightfully so. Lucy's Diner is located on San Bernardino Avenue in Fontana. They have a small, free parking lot for customers. Their menu boasts several dishes, so there's lots of selection and definitely something to please a majority of palettes. Our order consisted of the Clubhouse Sandwich and Country Fried Steak. Everything tasted fantastic and was cooked fresh to order. Portions were the perfect size, definitely more on the generous side. Pricing was fair. Lucy's Diner made a strong first impression. We're looking forward to returning again in the near future to try more items off of their menu. Honestly, everything that was ordered from tables around us looked delicious.

All-Fruit Waffle 5/5 Vegetarian Omelette 3/5 The all-fruit waffle was so delicious! A Belgian-style waffle cut into fourths and topped with strawberries, bananas, cooked apples, and crushed candied pecans. The flavor of the waffle was not too sweet and had notes of vanilla and cinnamon in the batter. The chantilly cream was almost like a frosting, very sweet. I didn't feel that it added anything to the dish, except extra sweetness so I didn't use it. The fruit with the syrup was enough for me. The Vegetarian omelette included broccoli, mushroom, onion, and tomato (I requested no tomato). The egg was really dry and overcooked. I prefer my omelette cooked well but not to the point where the egg has dark brown spots. The Hashbrowns were ordered crispy and I thought they were tasty and well seasoned. I really enjoyed the waffle and would definitely return again for it and some of the other items. I won't let one omelette discourage me from coming back. (This was ordered through UE, so I don't have an opinion of the service or ambiance).

Great place to eat! Only waited a minute to be seated. They have a big menu, so there's a lot to choose from. The food was delicious and the service was great. Definitely going to recommend to everyone that I know. We had the country fried steak; that came with eggs and hash browns, I also upgraded to a stack of pancakes for $2.99, what a deal! We also ordered the strawberry waffle plate You also gotta try the pomegranate agua!

Lucy's Diner did not disappoint! The biscuits and gravy were rich, creamy, and full of flavor, paired with crispy hash browns and perfectly cooked eggs. Lucys French toast Special was topped with fresh strawberries, bananas and caramelized pecans was the perfect balance of sweetness. Add in great coffee and a cozy atmosphere, and this spot easily became one of my favorite breakfast places. Definitely coming back hungry."

I placed an phone order for a shrimp and frish burrito first let's start off by saying I asked if they can wrap my burrito i didn't want it in a box the server tells me no that the burrito was to big and it could not be wrapped. I was confused on how the burrito could be wrapped when I gave a funny look on my face then all of a sudden the burrito got wrapped. Second I ask for a fish and shrimp burrito all I tasted was rice and beans barley any fish and I didn't taste not one shrimp at all I basically paid for a rice and bean burrito for 17.00 I will never come back here.

Y'all! I've been living in Fontana since 2006, but moved away in 2020, BUT NOW IM BACK AND HOW THE HELL DID IT TAKE ME THIS LONG TO GET HERE!?!!! First off: we came today, day after the 4th and it's not crowded at all, love the atmosphere, right when you walk in, you're greeted by a cool statue of a some kind of a man that's from the country side? ( don't come at me I really don't know what is called lol) it's got an 80s feel with cool decor and mixed with Mexico feel, just come and see it yourself mmmkaayyy We were greeted by Mislie( I hope I spelled your name right), she was soooooo sweet, big smiles! Uhm!! Hello plus 100 already! Nowadays is so hard to actually find waiters that actually care about their job and that was such a nice feel (I also come with two baggage's, a 3 year old and a 1 year old lol), Also my husband and I came HUNGRRYYYY lol, immediately as we ordered our drinks I straight up ordered my country fried steak ( what I get always, can't change my mind I'm sorry), but was really tempted to try to menudo, that will be next week lol. To our surprise, lunch and dinner menu were also available! Of course my Wetto (mah white boy lol) ordered his favorite enchiladas. I decided to sacrifice my eggs and my pancakes for my kids and ordered a side of bacon ( and they give you FOUR!!!) I SWEAR TO YOU THE FOOD CAME OUT IMMEDIATELY LIKE NOT EVEN A FIVE MIN WAIT!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!!!!! HOLY HEAVEN WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!!!!! Now onto the food, my fried steak came LOADED with gravy and the steak was CRISPY AND HOT!!!! Oh the pancakes were soooo soft and you know there are those soft pancakes but get stuck when you try to cut it? These ones cut straight down no issue!!! Super soft and fluffy! And my steak of Of course fantastic! Exactly how i like it! Oh my husband and I scarfed our food down! Oh did I mention that Mislie has been fantastic this entire time?!!! Like girl!!! I'm totally gonna be a regular here!!! Also everyone else has also came by to see if we needed anything, This is definitely a place where you feel a sense of community and to be honest, we need that more than ever right now so yes! See you on Tuesday for $1.99 tacos!!!!

I love this small mom-and-pop diner. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed the Carne Asada Chilaquiles wish it had a bit more meat mixed with the tortilla chips. Overall, everything was amazing. Our waitress was very sweet and professional; she greeted us from the moment we walked in until we left. I really like this little spot. It makes me feel like I've gone back to the wild, wild West. It's nice and clean, and the bathrooms were clean. Most definitely come back again. friendly

Lucy's Diner is definitely living up to its reviews. You walk in and wait to be seated, but as soon as they saw us we were greeted so kindly. We were sat immediately, which apparently is not always the case since they tend to be super busy. Our server was so nice and attentive (I feel so bad bc I don't remember her name but she had a pink polo on 12/31/22 tall with brown hair ). Everything was so delicious and was some real authentic Mexican food not that bland crap people try to "sell as authentic Mexican food ". The waffle was perfect and the fruit was fresh. My mom and her boyfriend ended up joining the table later and everyone was so nice and made sure they were served as soon as they sat down (granted it wasn't that busy but their customer service is 10/10). Glad to finally have found a great local breakfast diner. read more

We ordered a chile verde omelette breakfast with rice and beans and also a country fried steak meal. Everything was delicious! The chile verde was so good. Spice wasn't too much and flavor was great. Country fried steak was flavorful and really good. Only thing is that plate didn't have much eggs on it. Other than that we would order again. Service was excellent. Was attended to constantly and servers were nice. Would definitely come back here again and recommend. read more

Second time coming to this Diner and I will say I LOVE it. The food is amazing the staff is friendly and the service is fast! I love the interior decoration because it give a old rustic vibe to it. I didn't get pictures of all the food but this is what we had: The first time I came I tried their steak and eggs and my sister got the chorizo plate. I absolutely loved my steak. It was actually cooked like I asked. Most places I ask for medium well and they leave it well done but not this one! The meat was flavorful and the portion size was generous. The chorizo plate was amazing as well and had a generous portion. Definitely better than the other diner we used to go to The second time we came I got the south of the border skillet, my sister got the red chilaquiles, and her boyfriend got the green chilaquiles. Let's just say we all left extremely satisfied with the food once again. Oh and did I mention their pancakes and French toast were delicious! The kids pancake is HUGE and has a little face on it. They are different different looking pancakes from other establishments but man are they good! This place has replace our old breakfast spot and we'll definitely be coming back! read more

I use to passed by and see this Diner for the last 15 years on my way to work to Kaiser Fontana. Today I finally tried it. The selection of food is so much, and all look good, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day... American and Mexican dish. We were here for breakfast time and we had strawberry waffles combo, verde huevos ranchero and they have the best menudo i have ever had anywhere. The service was excellent, our waitress is so friendly and prompt and it is a feel at home kind ambience. I am so full but I still wanted to try other dish. Next time for sure.We will definitely come back here more often! read more

It was our first time dining here. We arrived just after 11am. There's a self write wait list. We added our name and we must have arrived at just the right time, only 1 person ahead of us! We were called quickly. Right away we noticed all the friendly servers! We loved that! Who doesn't want to have great service plus all the servers seemed happy! It was such a great atmosphere. All the customers were having a great time enjoying their meals and spending time with family/friends. We ordered the Fried Steak and carne Asada plate. Both were very delicious! We both ordered coffee and all the servers came and checked on us for refills. Oh we also had a short stack, pancakes were fluffy! Prices were good too. Definitely coming back to try the menudo, the table behind us ordered it and it looked soooo good. read more

Decided to take my gkids for breakfast And boy was I glad we came to Lucy's dinner. First off they make you feel very welcomed as soon as you walk into the diner. Once seated they attend your very quickly and they are very friendly! The food well what can I say...it is delicious! I had the waffles with strawberries and caramelized pecans, YUMMY! What a great place! I used to drive by this place and it was always busy, parking lot full to capacity and wondered what the hype was. Well..... I finally came in to find out!. Their staff firsthand has to be commended for their friendliness, customer service and their ability to make you feel more than welcome. First impressions are important and they get a 10/10 in that area. Food was tasty, fresh and definitely had a homemade appeal to it. I have had the following: Chile Verde Omelette -5 Stars RECOMMEND! Chilaquiles - 5 star RECOMMEND! A few tips, they close early afternoon, during the week is less busy and great breakfast spot. Come on in to this great restaurant! read more

I've lived in Fontana for 6 years now and we've visited a few breakfast places around here but never heard of Lucy's. We came here with another couple because of the reviews. When we got in, we put our name in and sat in the front room to wait. A young gentleman said he wouldn't seat us until our friends got there. Then a few minutes later, a lady asked to seat us. Our friends came, so we ordered coffees as we looked at the menu. We ordered your famous French toast, menudo and a French Toastveggie omelette with biscuits and gravy. It was good but the menudo hardly had any meat but the flavor was good. The biscuits and gravy was delicious! The service was excellent so we'll be back to try other items in the menu. read more

Great good and friendly service. I needed to grab lunch fora 30 minute lunch break, so I called my order in. It took me about 5 minutes to get to the restaurant and when I got there my order was ready! Everything tasted really good and I was so pleased to see that I was given fresh avocado! Me and my family love to come here ! The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is nice and clean. The food is delicious and fresh. They always have a different variety of agua frescas to enjoy! I give it 4 stars and not 5 only because I recently had their menudo and it was a little on the saltier side. However this place does serve up some delicious meals for a reasonable price ! read more

If you're looking for authentic, bomb AF, better than ya mamas pozole look no further. I would definitely suggest stopping by if you are in the area and dine at Lucy's. I had mine delivered because I am feeling under the weather today and OMG it tasted just as fresh delivered. Y'all know what I'm talking about because sometimes when you have things delivered they are not as fresh as actually dinning in the restaurant. They give you a very good portion enough for two people to enjoy, served with corn tortillas and they pack onion, cilantro, limes, and cabbage for you as well. This is better than some of my family's and friends pozole but shhhh don't tell them. I also ordered a breakfast burrito because I love me a good breakfast burrito and it was tasty as well. I wish they used home style potatoes instead of hash browns but still a good burrito. I think next time I'll do a bacon and sausage burrito and substitute the hash-browns for refried beans, you're welcome. read more

Huevos Rancheros w/green salsa not spicy but definitely flavorful add the red salsa for the bite. Chilaquiles with carne asada were delicious. Rice and beans , normally I pass on them but could not resist. Beans creamy and perfect. Rice was fluffy. Met Lucy and her daughter very sweet and pleasant upon entering and leaving. I love Lucy's diner! This is a perfect gem nestled in the heart of old Fontana. The breakfast is delicious with a side of Mexican flare. I had the egg breakfast with bacon and sausage. That's kind of hard to mess up so I'll say it tasted very fresh and the bacon was nice and crispy, I also had the pancakes and they were good and fluffy. My husband had the biscuits and gravy with his breakfast and said it was very tasty too. I hadn't been to Lucy's in a long time, but I'm glad we made a point to stop. A local establishment with good reviews, what's not to like right? Well it wasn't a great visit but it also wasn't a bad visit. 2 out of 4 plates were salty and 2 were in need of salt. I had high hopes for my western skillet but unfortunately it did leave something to be desired. My wife's chilaquiles plate came out a bit salty but did have some good flavor. Customer service and pricing is a plus as both were good, I would want to try Lucy's again before reaching a more definitive conclusion. read more

I am super glad I tried this place last week. I've been craving Mexican food for a while. REAL MEXICAN FOOD. Had a few disappoints during my vacation. So on my last day of vacation I said what the helllll let's do this. I made it there a hour before they closed. Sat down right away and our food came out with 10-15 min. I'm so sad I didn't take any pics of our food. Hubby had biscuits and gravy with hash browns, eggs and pancakes. I had the chile verde plate with a side chile relleno. Everything was so so so good... I tried some when my husband ordered it and it was so good.

My husband likes more intense flavors so it was perfect for him. Once the dish cools though, you do notice some of the sauce congeal because of the cornstarch. The orange chicken is not what anyone expects when they hear orange chicken. It's not crispy. Instead, it's slightly chewy because it's thinly cut chicken, but makes up for it with a great depth of flavor. There's much I wanted to try on the menu. I'll have to come back!

As you enter, you are always greeted with a warm smile. They go out of their way to ensure all customers have a great experience. Even though the parking lot may look small, I've never had problems finding a spot. When you enter, it seems like a dining area, but don't worry--just check in and you'll soon be seated!
