I moved from Wilmington 5 years ago to live down state and I just recently moved back. When I tell you the cost of food has effected Lucy's it crazy. Chicken finger salad use to be overflowing with chicken fingers. When I order I has about 3. Subs used to decent now barely have any meat. My husband has the cheese steak and said the same thing about the cheese steak. The food still taste ok but not worth the money spent. I've ordered and picked up from here dozens of times and never had an issue. The food is always great, it's one of those small places where the food still tastes somewhat homemade and has a local business feel. I've never had an issue with my food or delivery. I see some have but I can imagine it's just a few out of the hundreds of orders they do a day as they do get pretty busy. You cannot beat the price for the food you get. The Tuna salad and the grilled chicken salad are my favorite. I travel from Chester, PA and New Castle to Wilmington to get them.

I love their salads. They always taste so fresh. I haven't tried anything else, but everyone seems to love it because it's always busy.

Ordered at 5 PM and was told delivery would be @ 45 minutes. Did not received until well after 6 PM. Pizza was cold and the crust was very doughy. I had to put it back into the oven to finish baking it and warm it up. Used to be much better. Also they add $3 delivery fee. read more

A rider told me she knows people that drive from Philly to get Lucy's cheesesteaks. This may have been an exaggeration. It was standard and not bad for $9.50. Lucy's does have tables, a pinball machine and the desserts looked very good. Lots of people got take out while I was there. Strong tomato game. Very good amount of cheese (relative to amount of meat) and great cheese melt. Everything else was pretty standard. read more

I am totally PISSED with Lucy's. Not only did I order lunch 11:48am, today, but they put the wrong address on it. The driver calls me from my school location and I told him I TOLD HER DOWN THE STREET and gave the female my address. When the food arrived, YES IT WAS COLD. A friend at work had a Seafood salad from Lucy's earlier this week and she said it was really good. So tonight I told my hubby I wanted to try Lucy's seafood salad. Lucky for us they are only about 3 miles from our house. All I can say is it tasted as good as it looked. It was loaded with crab. Hubby got a meatball sub he said was really good. The bill was $15 not bad considering mos places around here you spend $10 or more just for the salad that is mostly lettuce. Will definitely be going back to Lucy's. read more

The service was terrible and so was the food. How you can mixed up a fried chicken platter to a flounder platter. And the hot wings sauce was all in the bag instead of the chicken. So I had to wait another 30 minutes for these crooks to bring my food. Never again! read more

My only regret about Lucy's is that I did not find it sooner. I have consistently been hosed and disappointed by other local Hoagie vendors... really, how tough is it to make a good sandwich (I guess if da love not in it... it just not in it) .. I used to drive all the way to AC for the Whitehouse Special (awesome Hoagie) .... but now, thanks to Lucy's, that trip is required no more. Went in to order today only to be met with disappointment. I really enjoy the salads here but WILL NEVER patronize this business again and will also do my best to deter others. During the pandemic, there was an employee in the back where the food is prepared without a mask. I asked a woman who was assisting me with check out, why? The reply was disgusting. It went from he's on break to I'm not worried about it and if you're that fuc#$% worried, yes cursed, you shouldn't eat out. Needless to say I was floored by the reply and agitated so requested a refund given the nasty reply and clear lack of regard for health; safety and customer service. The nastiness continued; causing my agitation to rise as this woman (confirmed business owner) couldn't figure out their refund system. Won't ever go back nor my family members. I go there because it's within walking distance of my house, but they really need to listen more carefully when they are taking orders. I ordered an Italian sub today. I SPECIFICALLY asked for NO mayo (and WHO puts mayo on an ITALIAN sub, anyway???) Needless to say, it had mayo on it. It actually does not have Italian meats on it either (salami, capicolla. Also, one would expect oregano and olive oil.) I think I will just buy my own Italian lunch meats and cheeses from now on and make my own. We get lunch here almost daily at work. Great prices with good food. My husband likes the cheesesteaks and they gave good platter options-chicken fingers, cheeseburger or chicken sandwich are all good. They offer xl subs which are huge. Pizza is always decent. Nice sized salads that are way more than 1 meal. Any mistakes they always fix. Updating this review as a few times since I wrote it I have found things that didn't belong in my food. Stromboli had something hard and crunchy and crab cake had a side that was black and it wasn't like that on the other part of the sandwich . Good food, good service, and amazing prices! I've only ever had their breakfast, but I was very pleased. I usually get 2 eggs with cheese, and home fries with peppers, onions, salt, and pepper. The food is okay, but the service leaves much to be desired. It's not worth the headache. The person who took my order messed my entire order up. She called me back, after her mistake, and was disrespectful. I asked for the manager to call me back and he was rude as well. One thing I have to give them a HUGE shout out for is their courtesy to some of the people I work with. They'e a group of special needs adults that sometimes order food for delivery. The restaurant is okay but. I don't like how I ordered two slices of cake and they just cut it in half and charged 2.85 a piece, just because they only had one slice left. Why not just say it's only one slice left? So basically I got cheated out of 2.85. And also the cheese steak was horrible we all needed to throw up. The food used to be good. My go to spot in Wilmington! The only place in Delaware I've gotten a good cheese steak from. I've had their pizza, steaks, and appetizers and have nothing bad to say. The pizza had basically no crust, was greasy and the yellow canned mushrooms they use look unappetizing.And what their passing off as bbq chicken pizza looks like something I wouldn't give to the stray cats outside my apartment.
