Green sauce, asada, extra chips on the side. With a large tamarindo, you're in for an intense 30 minutes. If you're coming here for American food like fries, burgers, etc go elsewhere, Lucy's expertise is on the Mexican side of the coin that it advertises. I've been eating at Lucy's for about 40 years. About 30 years at this location. Besides the happiest workers and cooks, they make some fantastic food. My favorites are the carnitas and the Chile Relleno burrito. They are a Mexican bakery also. I love the corn muffins. Myself my family and friends have tried about the entire menu and I can't remember even a mixed up order let alone a bad meal. Always fresh hot and delicious served quickly and always a smile. Chef Mike is working its circuits hard at this place. I lived in Lynwood for 30+ years and can remember a time when the food here was actually good. It didn't matter what time or what item you ordered. Unfortunately, this isn't the case anymore. A few weeks ago I was feeling nostalgic and took a drive over the old neighborhood and made the mistake of stopping at Lucy's. Let me tell you I wont be making that mistake ever again. I came in here and ordered a carne asada burrito w/two tamales for the wife and within a minute my order was done. Its obvious my burrito was microwaved because it was piping hot, the meat was rubbery and tasted old. It also looked like it was the left over bits from the previous night. The tamales were disgusting as well, they smelled old and like an old mop. In regards to the handling and display of their sweet bread, run for the hills and steer clear of it. I once saw a person play with the bread, drop it on the floor and put it back with the rest of the sweet bread. This grossed me out but not as much as the flies flying and crawling all over the sweet bread in the cheaply made cabinets. Overall, just go somewhere else and don't support Chef Mike! read more

A solid 4 star rating, because while fast food is never going to be great, Lucy's consistently hits that sweet spot in the price/variety/quality matrix. It's kind of the Mexican food equivalent of the Tams/Tommys/Fantastic/etc burger/fries/pastrami/breakfast-all-day regional chain.
