Craving some authentic street tacos, and Lugo's Taco Street food did not disappoint. The menu had great options, and I honestly ended up eating more than I'd planned; it had all sounded delicious, and I was correct. My family ended up ordering an array of dishes including their: pollo Street tacos, steak rice bowl, cheese quesadilla, classic beef tacos, as well as a "The little piggies" burrito. Every item was really good. The employees were all fantastic, friendly and hard working. We had decided to dine in, and after a short wait, our meal was delivered directly to our table, steaming hot and yummy. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, there was plenty of comfortable seating, a great selection of flavored sodas, the ingredients all tasted fresh, a nice sized parking lot, and even a drive-thru, if you'd prefer to take your food elsewhere. Overall great experience, I would happily eat here again any time, and my family agrees completely. read more

I took the amount of salsa I required for my 2 entrees - as they only offered little cups on the salsa bar holds 1-2 tablespoons. Like thimble size. I sacrificed my small water cup and filled it 1/4 - 1/3 the way. Perfect for my entree and side dish - suddenly this dude comes up in front of God and everyone just before I sat down to eat and says loudly, 'you can't do that!!!' I looked around to see who he was talking to and it was me! I said what are you talking about?? I ordered my entree and a side of 8 shrimp and I only get this thimble amount cup for my meal?? He said yes!! So I sat down and begged him to take my credit card then and take all the money they need! He refused - this was appalling and not by any means professional - it was embarrassing - made eating here misery - so got up and left - called the Caro store to see if it is true you only get the 1-2 Tablespoon size cup of salsa for your dinner and side dish - he said yes those are the rules. Clearly they know NOTHING about business in hospitality in a taqueria - absolutely insane and they are no longer trustworthy as a place to enjoy food. Real Mexican food. Legitimate salsas including salsa verde, rojo and a mild red mild. Quiet christian music playing in the background. I really like the food at Lugo's, but every time my order is missing an ingredient. I ordered the build your own burrito the last three times and it was missing beans every time. Today, it was missing beans and lettuce. Still delicious but I'm sure it'd be even better with the ingredients I ordered. I just wish they listened better and got it exactly as ordered. Otherwise the food is great... Obviously... bc I keep going back even when they mess up! Yum! Absolutely delicious and I am still thinking about it the next day! Right now it's drive thru only and there was a decent line around dinner time but it was so worth the wait! Ordered the Lugo's burrito - bacon wrapped and stuffed with chicken, avocado, rice and beans and fries! It was probably the best burrito I've ever had. Also ordered the La Federali burrito - steak and grilled onions, that was HUGE and he said it was the best he's ever had. Will we be back? Holy hell by far the best street tacos I've had since moving north. The fish was amazing and spicier than I expected but not too hot. The barbacoa was deeeeelish as well as the carnitas. Juicy and flavorful. Oooof I'm stuffed on 3 tacos - they are definitely larger than most street tacos. They also have a salsa bar. Holy salsa heaven my friends. The white salsa is not something that you see often. Excellent on the fish! Must come back often! read more

Authentic Mexican food. Not Gordon Food Service. I have been there several times and have never been disappointed The menu is excellent and the food is fresh. I have tried the fish taco's, and different burritos which were extremely large. I get two meals out of one burrito at least. My only disappointment I is it is carry-out only. I was told the dinning room will be open soon as I drive from the Caseville Area and the food needs to be heated up when we get home. Really hoping the dinning room opens soon. There business will triple at least. Be sure to give them a try. read more

Almost Every time Im in Bad Axe I try to stop here for lunch. Ive never had a bad meal. At worst I'd say something Ive ordered might be only a 3 star while most are 4-5 stars. The salad i ordered with Carnitas (pork) is so tasty and generous with the pork. To cut the carbs a bit i skipped the beans and did not miss them at all. I give this a solid 5. Other visits and items have been just as good to just not my best choice. The tamales are the best i ever had. But the last time someone kind of skimped on them and were only half the size of normal. While were talking about tamales i wish they had a deal on a large order. They are $2 each no matter if you get 1 or 20. Maybe like a 12 pack for $20? Also the street tacos are great but i wish they would add freshly fried taco shells (puffy) I think that makes any taco 10× better. And how about a all the time breakfast burrito? Even if they made no changes ( not including the poorly made tamales) Id still stop here when in Bad Axe. Awesome food, nice employees and very fast and fresh. Wow this place is like being in the city, nice and clean and they did a really good job putting it together. Menu isn't overwhelming, but for being what it is it's good. Used too be the old Chiller's, we loved going there when we'd visit our place. This place will be a nice spot to hit being everything up here is boring and lame. Kinda going for the Qdoba feel here with pick your own burrito or rice bowl theme. Tacos are priced decently, but the burritos are over priced. It's good, taste fresh and we liked it. Qdoba is still better, but you won't find one up here so enjoy this place like we did. The GOOD the burritos anf tacos had a really good taste. The hot sauce left the perfect amount of heat on my tongue and roof of my mouth. The BAD Portions are too small for the price. For almost a $12 burrito it is way too small, and I believe it should have come with rice and beans. Chips were so so. Rice did nothing for me, I love rice and this disappointed. The beans were very runny. The queso was too watery. I still like it though, the good out ways the bad and if you've ever been this way you'll see the mediocrity you have to deal with. From poor customer service, too horrible food. So enjoy this place because it's a gem for being up here. read more

Absolutely amazing food! I think Qdoba or some similar Mexican chain restaurant has the same menu concept of "build your own," but the quality at Lugo's is way better. You can tell everything is homemade rather than commercially prepared. I had a BYO burrito with the grilled chix, fajita veg, pico, black beans, cilantro lime rice, shredded cheese and lettuce, and sour cream. . . it was soooooo good! I'm really picky about fast food grilled chicken, but theirs was very tasty. I loved the homemade hot sauce too. Stopped by on our way home from camping up north. Only the drive thru was open when we went, probably due to short staffing like everywhere else. The employees were super friendly and quick with our order, even though the line was pretty long. Our order was perfectly correct and very timely. The cost was also great considering how big the burritos were! I had to save half of mine for dinner. read more
