I called in an order for a chikn parm sandwich, a seitan Turkey BLT sandwich, an energy soup and a chocolate brownie. I am working in the area and was so happy to find this place nearby my job site. I loved the chickn sandwich and even more so the brownie. Both were absolutely delicious! I am saving th le blt for dinner. I suspect it will be equally delicious . I came across Luhv in Reading Terminal Market and bought their garbanzo bean vegan burger "dough". I was making dinner and had some vegetarians coming so I wanted an option for them. Bottom line is the chickpea burgers were better than my famous pulled pork sandwiches. Keep in mind I'm famous for this pulled pork. My wife said next time make her a veggie burger too. I've driven by a several times and took note of Luhv because of their vegan fare, mentally telling myself "one day I'll need to stop in." Yesterday happened to be the day. Its a cozy (small) place but we came in early enough to have the run of the place. The menu is small, about 8 items total, if I recall correctly, however, that means that they can give their love and attention to fewer things and make sure the quality stays consistent, and oh boy is it ever! The kids split the black bean burger (my wife and I had to sample it, quality control) and I had the garbanzo burger. Both were really good. I've been on a more plant based diet kick lately and this was straight up comfort food. Great flavors and textures. My wife went with the power soup and she had nothing but good things to say. We split the spinach salad which consisted of a bed of baby spinach with garbanzo beans, quinoa, lentils (I'm 50/50 on that one) and onions, all in a sweet vinegar brine. Good good good! I can't to wait to go back and try more of their offerings. read more

It's not easy to find quick takeaway vegan food so I was delighted when LUHV opened. I stopped in yesterday to purchase burgers and salads for lunch at a friend's home and saw for the first time chocolate cupcakes that looked "homemade". I took a chance and purchased one and was sorry I had to share it! Had I known it would be so delicious, I certainly would have bought two! These cupcakes were topped with a luscious chocolate swirled icing and worth every penny. Thanks so much to the pastry chef who baked these. My goddaughter is transitioning into the vegan lifestyle and we were hanging out, so even though I'm not vegan I had no problem eating at Luhv, I enjoyed the chickpea tuna pita tasted so much like tuna and she said that was the best black bean burger she has had, she also purchased chickpea tuna, frozen sweet potato/jalapeño soup and pack of frozen black bean burgers to go. I really love this place. As someone else mentioned, it's nice to be able to go in somewhere and just be able to order anything off the menu - even though my husband can't help but ask "The cheese, is that vegan cheese?" I haven't been disappointed and we've been there a decent amount of times. Yes, the options are limited but the menu does have new options at times. The soups are great and I love the "tuna" salad. You can tell the owners are family oriented which is nice especially in a smaller place, you don't want to feel uncomfortable. Even with my frantic (at the time) two year old, he was offered a snack while waiting. Even if you aren't vegan, try something new! read more

Ecstatic I found this place (thanks Yelp!) Online ordered on my phone - super easy. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was really impressed. The garbanzo flax chipotle burger may be one of the best vegan or vegetarian burgers I've ever had. What kind of cheez is that? Vegan cheez is usually meh. This was quite good - a nice complement to the excellent burger. Also had the chopped salad, yum as well, especially the pomegranate guava dressing. I cannot wait to come back and try other items.
