Luigi's Pizza is truly my favorite pizza place. They seem to be constantly innovating, as they showcase a new pizza special daily. Among the pizzas I've eaten recently, the Chicken Marsala Pizza was absolutely fantastic. Not only that, but the staff--who might even be the owner--are incredibly friendly. I have poor English pronunciation, and they unfortunately took my phone order incorrectly. Even though it was my mistake, when I went to pick up my order, they were very kind, said it was okay, and corrected the food by making it again for me. Today for lunch, I had the Chicken Parm. on a Hero, and it was delicious! The tasty tomato sauce, good quality cheese, and fresh chicken on a sesame hero bread were all wonderful. There are sooo many in Queens/Nassau. All I can say is that I am relieved to find Luigi's of Bayside off of Francis Lewis Boulevard. I don't know how many people like soup in the summer but they have a very tasty chicken noodle soup. I have a lot of dietary restrictions so I was so relieved to find an Italian restaurant that actually put vegetables in their chicken noodle soup instead of just broth and noodles, and it was fresh chicken too! Their pasta dishes are quite tasty too. My Sicilian husband even said the pizza was "OK" but he is incredibly picky when it comes to pizza and I am not a pizza person. My family liked the pasta dishes, and I LOVED their salads. Now all it's left to try is their chicken wings (for me anyway). Parking was a little challenging because it's at an intersection of Frannie Lew, but I managed. I have been coming to Luigi's since 1998. They have been consistently the best pizzeria in the entire borough. I would (and still do) take my family in from Long Island as a treat for years after we moved over 15 years ago. When Luigi sold to new owners last year, I was concerned that the quality would suffer but, having stopped in 2-3 times since then, I can honestly say the pizza is (dare I say it?) even better! If you go here you must try their Buffalo chicken pizza. By far the best I've had. Other yelped mentioned the lack of customer service which I've experienced but when I recently went, I was helped by a very nice and friendly worker. None of the staff is masked which makes me a little weary -- maybe a sign that says "all staff members have been vaccinated" may quell some of those customer concerns. Slices are classic thin, saucy NY pizza which is my fave. The best way to experience their slice is to get it to go and eat it right in the car (omg by far the best!!). Arancini ball want the greatest so skip it but their sandwiches and Buffalo pizza and slices are what keep coming back for. It was such a sunny day but a tad bit windy out. I was running a bunch of errands. I passed by Luigi's Pizza and quickly checked their Yelp page...pretty positive reviews! I decided to try this pizza spot out for lunch. I ordered a slice of Pepperoni Pizza and a Rice Ball filled with meat, cheese, and peas. This is our go to place!! Their pizza is excellent! You definitely need to try their buffalo chicken pizza! It's not too spicy. It's absolutely delicious!! Everything we've ever gotten over the past few years has been nothing short of excellent!! Stopped here for the 1sttime a few weeks ago and ordered a couple of chicken rolls and a Sicilian slice to go. Our first question was whether this was an "authentic" Italian spot, but we didn't let that stop us from trying them out. First impression was that the staff weren't super friendly. They seemed like they just wanted us to hurry up and order so they can get back to what they were doing (not that we were very indecisive or took a long time). The chicken rolls were okay. They were a pretty good size, so the value was okay. What was a little outrageous to me was the 75 cents they charged for a small container of marinara sauce. They sauce was okay - but not magical - and a needed accompaniment to zhuzh up the chicken rolls. The slice was slightly better according to wifey. We're not clamoring to come back here especially with so many options for pizza in the general vicinity. Not completely ruling them out if the need arose but we would definitely order other things, not what we got this time. read more

I really don't like salt and find many places to have salt to their cheese. Not this place! And their pizza sauce is delicious! It is seasoned and delicious! Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a slice of pizza. Went in with little expectation but had 2 phenomenal slices. Really enjoyed the Margherita slice with the fresh mozzarella, sauce, and basil on top. They reheat the slices to perfection and it has an incredibly fresh taste. Would highly recommend if you are in the area looking for a good slice or whole pie for the family. The chicken Caesar salad slices looked wonderful, and I will be coming back to try it. read more
