Here's a much shorter, more straightforward version that sounds natural and not "polished": --- I was really excited to come back to Lucia's since it was my childhood pizza spot, but this was a big letdown. Ordered a large veggie and added pepperoni. Was told 25 minutes, picked it up a few minutes early, got home in 4 minutes and the pizza was already hard and tough to chew. I live 3 blocks away. Once I chewed like 4 bites, my jaw actually hurt and my dad couldn't chew it either. It tasted like an old pizza that had been sitting out and reheated with extra toppings. Definitely not fresh. 4 slices we threw away. For $34, this was disappointing. I don't mind paying the price, just make it fresh and right. Please stop cutting corners and serving food like this. For a quick grab and go pizza, this spot isn't a bad option. If you want some quality pizza, you might be disappointed. Inside is decent spaciously if you do want to eat it there and they're located in a good space where you won't be able to miss it if you pass by. Maybe I've been in Long Island too long but I miss this style of real NY slice pizza. So stoked to see Lucia open another location in Bayside. I always dread having to drive to Flushing to buy a pie. What both location's suffer most though no fault of their own is parking. Picking up a pie is a two person job in both locations, the Bayside location does advertise curbside pick up though. I ordered a half pepperoni cheese pizza which had perfectly melted cheese, flavorful tomato sauce and a delicious savory pepperoni. The "undercarriage and flop" of the pie was a little under charred and on the softer side. The crust was a solid 10 for crunchiness and struck the right balance between crispiness and chewiness. On my next order, I'll ask for the pie to be baked well done, hopefully that will improve on the "Flop and undercarriage" Looking forward to trying the other items on the menu soon. read more

We are very big fans of Lucia in Flushing and was estactic to hear they were opening a new location in Queens. Their new location in Bayside opened to the public yesterday. The new location isn't very large with only three or four tables but interior feels spacious and clean. We ordered a medium regular pie ($14.50) and six garlic knots ($2.95). Everything tasted great and prices were reasonable, specially for this neighborhood. Staff were so nice and they have extended hours of operation (open every day from 10am to 9pm everyday except for Friday and Saturday it's 10am-10pm). If you're from Queens, the name is no stranger to the game. If you're not from Queens, you probably still heard the name thrown around in controversy among who has the best pizza. The original location in the heart of Flushing has been a staple to the community. It's as classic as a NY slice gets and has grown a big enough following for them to open this 2nd location in a much more accessible area for us locals who drive. Out of convenience, I find myself frequenting this spot over the original now. Taste wise, its not too far off from each other, though subtle differences, it's just as delicious. Updated: I wanted to love them. I want to be floored. I wanted to shout from the rooftops that everyone needs to go to Lucia Pizza. I wanted to because I absolutely love love love their location in Flushing but to get to it is almost impossible, and I live in Bayside. I was soooo excited when they opened. So the first time we ordered it was about a month after they opened. We figured a month was enough to at least get their "mojo". Well we ordered one plain cheese pie and one pepperoni mushroom pie to go. I always order a plain cheese pie and a second pie with toppings of choice of my husband and son. So the plain pie was very blah and floppy. The mushroom pepperoni was even floppier than the plain one and the toppings all slid off when taking a slice. They weren't crispy or foldable. They were just "eh". Okay so fast forward to last week and we once again gave them a chance (again, I absolutely love their other location) because they're new here and wanted soooo much to love them. Sadly, again we were disappointed. BUT we are troopers and will give them one more shot, but the next time we'll eat a couple of slices there - hot out of the oven- and then come back and update with the findings and some pictures. I understand they're brand new and they have to work out some of the kinks but my goodness the service is terrible. The kid with the glasses and backwards hat, God bless his soul, has no clue what he's doing. The paste e fagioli taste like dirty water pasta sauce thats about to go sour. The penne bologonese is a 3/10. They boil the penne and dont drain it enough, mix it with their sauce and meat they make in the pan. But the end product is underwhelming. The wings good, the plain slice good. JUST COME FOR THE WINGS AND SLICE, that is all. Anything else don't waste your money. read more

My high school years were full of Lucia's amazing plain slice from their location in Flushing. But Flushing has gotten less and less driver friendly over the years, so I stopped going. I heard about Lucia's opening in Bayside and decided to see if the pizza is as good as I remember. The Bayside spot is located right on Northern Blvd next to the Tiger Schulman's karate center and across from a current empty lot. It's a quaint size, two counters (one for the pizza/food orders and a register, and the other counter with icees and a register). There's about 6 small tables with 2 chairs each to eat inside if you choose to. I came on a Friday at 7 pm. There were 3 folks ahead of me waiting to order. It took about 15 minutes before I was able to order. The staff really seemed to be trying to stay on top of everything but obviously struggled. Not much organization as far as ordering either; while I was waiting several more folks came in and either stood behind me waiting to order or went to the register by the icees and started ordering pizza/food which had the staff all over the place trying to get all these orders done. All together, it took me about 25 minutes to get two slices to go, not warmed up at my request. While there, a customer approached the counter asking how much longer he needed to wait for 2 slices to be warmed up, I heard him mention being there 20 minutes already. I ordered a plain slice and a buffalo slice, came to $8.15 with tax and you have the option to pay by card with no additional credit card fee, which I am seeing more food establishments doing. Right after my charge went through, the young man who rang me up disappeared for several minutes, and I stood there waiting for him to return so I could ask for a receipt. The pizza is as good as I remember, and the buffalo slice had a good spice to it. I may try to visit again on a different day/time and see if the service is better because the amount of time it took to get two slices to go was a bit much. 3 stars given because the pizza is great, and the staff remained kind and calm throughout my time there. read more

At this point most people are aware that it is the second location to the very well-known Lucia's pizza on Roosy in Flushing. Now let's start with the fact that it's rare to find the same exact product in two separate locations when it comes to any establishment. I never expected it to be the same exact slice of pizza but I was expecting it to be solid slice. And that is exactly what it is, a solid slice of pizza. Definitely not the same as the original in Flushing but it's not a bad pizza at all. They are relatively new and you can tell that they are trying to figure things out, which is understandable. It is a nice and clean spot with a variety of options on the menu. The garlic knots are delicious and the marinara sauce they offer on the side go really well with the knots. I usually get a pie, half pepperoni & half cheese, and it hasn't let me down as of yet. The entire family has enjoyed it on multiple occasions. I don't know if this is my official go to pizzeria in the area but it is certainly in the rotation. I would suggest giving it a try without constantly comparing it to the flushing location. read more

The flushing location I've been going to since the 70s when I was a little kid, I was excited to find that they're branching out to bayside where parking is a lot easier, However the slice is NOT the same. The sauce doesn't have that sweet sugar taste the OG spot in flushing has, and it's bland overall. Lucia has a very signature taste and this location doesn't have it. Tell me you're bringing the identical slice from flushing and I'll be back to try again. Til then, gotta battle for parking on Main Street in flushing. Tonight I was extremely shocked & disappointed. I ordered the exact same food I've ordered sine day one. I asked for Fettuccine Alfredo w/grilled chicken. Chicken Parmigiano dinner-Xtra sauce, Penne w garlic&oil.. Xtra garlic. #1.) When I tell you had 0 taste to Alfredo sauce, watery. 2.) Same goes for the Chicken Parmigiano dinner sauce tasted watered down without cheese added. 3.) The Penne garlic& oil, xtra garlic add( great) no taste had extra liquid I had to pour out. All 3 platters had an issue with the taste being far off. I always Love their food & sauce. I feel lIke maybe there was a accident as if a pot of water spilled onto/into the dishes and a split second decision was made to still send it out for delivery. I'm so upset that after spending $56 I didn't eat one of the dishes. Reluctant to order again, not to mention the delivery guy questioned me whether I really wanted the receipt & I was so stoked for the food I told him nevermind.
