Unfortunately, the rest of the food we ate was meh. The coconut shrimp were large and had good coconut flavor, but were overcooked and a little burnt, which altered the overall flavor. But I am guessing if it wasn't burnt, it would have great. I typically love deep fried zucchini, so I was excited to try it here. If didn't meet expectations though (sad face). The zucchini slices were cut very thin, and when deep-fried, I felt like I tasted more of the fried breading than I did the actual zucchini. My wife is a big macaroni and potato salad person, and she was not impressed. She said it had too much mayo and not enough substance.... I was pleased with the service and staff! Hubby had the key lime pie a la mode, and it was the perfect balance of creamy sweetness and tart, but not too tart. Both slices came with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, which is the only way to do it. The service was friendly, too. The indoor seating was full, so we sat outside, which turned out to be lovely for people watching and enjoying the fresh air. Delicious food starting with the heirloom tomatoes, followed by the garlic Szechuan noodles, Korean fried chicken with Kochujang glaze and house made chocolate miso ice cream! Reservations were made 6 weeks in advance, and were arrived at promptly. The party consisted of my wife, 2 daughters (10 and 12), and I. We were seated, and told whom our waiter would be. At which point our waiter and another member of the staff come from the kitchen. The waiter 'greets us', takes our drink menu, and leaves. He calls back to the other member of the staff, and says "you were right". His demeanor was cold, smug, and condescending. He was PUSHING a $185 8oz Wagyu steak like there was a prize for selling it. The menu is limited, but we made our selections outside of his "recommendations". The only bright spot in the meal was the assistant that helped our waiter throughout the meal. He was warm, engaging, funny, and all around a great human. He took his time, and asked us where we were from etc. The meal was good, but not great. The experience with the waiter aside. We ordered the chicken (2), noodles, and the up country salad. The food was fresh and flavorful, but not earth shattering. I still tipped the waiter over 20%, but I also made a point to find the assistant and tip him separately. He salvaged the meal, and should be a lead waiter!
