This deli is located in a strip mall and is bigger inside than it looks from the outside. On one side they have the ordering area with a beverage cooler, a display case, and hats for sale with their logo. The other side has seating and can probably fit around 30 to 40 people. For lunch on this day I went with the chicken pesto panini while my father went with a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. The menu described my sandwich as chicken breast, sun dried tomato, toasted pine nuts, provolone, and pesto spread, and my father's simply as sauerkraut and mustard. It was busy when we were there, so it took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Since we ordered separately, my food came out first and even though I planned to wait, I had enough time to eat it while waiting for my dad's. The chicken pesto panini ended up being quite good. The chicken was moist and flavorful and there was more than enough cheese. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor, although I wish there had been more. My favorite part was the pesto spread and pine nuts, especially the garlicky flavor from the pesto. My dad also thought his hot dog was good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my sandwich and my dad enjoyed his hot dog, so I would be interested in trying more of the menu.

He explained that he made the specials of the day while the regular menu was made inside the food truck. We were too full however tempted, and decided to go watch the sunset. But afterwards we wandered back to share a dish, and settled upon the beef special since we hadn't had any all trip. We had the smoked maminha tri-tip steak, Okinawa purple sweet potato, grilled maui onion and broccolini. Beautifully plated on real plates and silverware. No comparison to the so many common $21 food truck entrees and cost just a little more. The owner also is very sociable and enjoys talking about this food in a variety of languages with passers by and customers. On the far end from main entrance to the Kihei Food Oasis, or right at the other entrance, depending on how you enter. I wish we had found it earlier or we would have eaten there more than once!

lilikoi meringue tart ($10) - perfect tart to me actually…read more - usually sour flavors like these tend to be too sweet as the baker attempts to compensate the sourness, but that highkey backfires because when the dessert is too sweet and sour i end up hating it - this one however was just right; not too sweet and it's got just enough crust to pair with the lilikoi braised beef loco moco - an elevated take on loco moco that made me realize a simple dish can actually be impressive - the immaculate presentation was one thing but the flavor and texture exceeded my expectations for how a loco moco can taste - the crispy rice was nicely charred; not too burnt; usually charred items taste overdone and burnt but this had a nice note to it; wish it was crispier though but it might be because we were waiting for ages for the rest of the dish - braised beef was extremely tender - sauce was great but i wish it was a bit thicker and less liquidy - the pickled veggies were pretty well made too; they were lacking some kick and brightening flavor but the quality is there shrimp kauai - the shrimp was so juicy and the sauce well done; so fresh it was naturally sweet - the head was golden too, filled with natural sweetness -flavor on point; i had nothing else to say about this dish other than it was near perfect - same comment on the pickled veggies here as above rating: 4.5/5 - every dish was well done; not perfect and can improve but i was already well satisfied - the flavor, texture, and portion made the meal so worth... probably the most affordable food we've had on this island given the quality and care they put into each dish - it operates as a food truck within this zen buddha looking garden - very cute at night with fairy lights, plants, and other decor - highly recommend - service was kind and friendly but it took a long while for the food to be ready; makes sense though given how elaborate their dishes looked! This place has a decent amount of covered seating outside, but no seating inside. The menu is simple, and you order inside. We ordered the Cod Fish with rice, Coconut shrimp, deep fried zucchini, and a side of potato mac salad. The fish and chips were easily the best thing we ate. The fish had outstanding flavor and were battered and fried perfectly. If we only ordered the fish and chips, this place would get an easy 5 stars, no questions asked. Unfortunately, the rest of the food we ate was meh. The coconut shrimp were large and had good coconut flavor, but were overcooked and a little burnt, which altered the overall flavor. But I am guessing if it wasn't burnt, it would have great. I typically love deep fried zucchini, so I was excited to try it here. If didn't meet expectations though (sad face). The zucchini slices were cut very thin, and when deep-fried, I felt like I tasted more of the fried breading than I did the actual zucchini. My wife is a big macaroni and potato salad person, and she was not impressed. She said it had too much mayo and not enough substance.... I was pleased with the service and staff! Everyone that worked there was really nice and helpful. I also appreciate all the seating outside. I also thought it was cool they had a lot of board games for kids to use while we waited for our food. Very unique and solid addition! This place gets a solid 4 stars. If they made little tweaks to the rest of their side dishes, this place could easily be one of the better places to eat in Maui.

I had the peach cobbler warmed up and a la mode, and it was delicious. Crumble toppings on pie are my absolute favorite, that buttery, crumbly goodness you wish would never end. Hubby had the key lime pie a la mode, and it was the perfect balance of creamy sweetness and tart, but not too tart. Both slices came with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, which is the only way to do it. The service was friendly, too. The indoor seating was full, so we sat outside, which turned out to be lovely for people watching and enjoying the fresh air. If you have a sweet tooth and appreciate a proper slice of pie, Maui Pie is worth the trip. Highly recommend, and I'll see you there for more peach cobbler!

The girl then looked up from the register with an annoyed look on her face and said, verbatim, " does it look like I'm the head baker? I only work the register. You need to leave the store and call us to order". We all looked at each other shocked. That was the most rude response I've heard in a while... like we are supposed to know who specifically ask to order a sugar free pie ... ... just a wild situation for such a fun place with great tasting pies.
