How cute! We found out about this place a little too late into our vacation. We didn't realize that they have live music on certain days. This place is huge with many options. The seating area IS HUGE to accommodate many people. The decorations were on point for a nice dinner with family and friends. The food is on the pricey side. We ordered from Wings Kings Maui. A must visit for dinner while in the Kihei area!! Very lively and family-friendly environment with tons of food truck options ranging from traditional Hawaiian to burgers to thai to Mexican. We opted for chicken wings at one truck and Thai noodles at another- both were delicious and perfect for a light, shareable bite. Only downside is the wait times for some trucks (had to wait almost 30 minutes for our Thai), but there's only so much you can expect from a small food truck kitchen! Very busy but deservingly so. So yet another 4 star experience in Maui. In California, Food trucks always seem to be hit or miss. The rule stands in Hawaii, too, I guess. For the most part, prices are on the higher side for the portions you receive. The restaurants in town seem to be priced similarly but serve larger portions that are at least similar quality, if not superior. Of course there are some menu options that are not available anywhere else on the island. Poutine for instance. I tried the Kalua Pig Poutine, which was pretty good, but I kind of wish I tried their traditional offering. The kids had Pad Thai, the flavor profile was good, but for the price the portion was small. My six year old had Mac 'n cheese that was not at all tasty. Lastly my wife ordered a wagyu burger that was really good but was served a la carte, at the price charged it seems like maybe a small portion of fries could be served as an accompaniment. All of the folks working the trucks were happy to answer questions, and if they had condiments requested they were happy to give them to you. Some vendors took longer than others to prepare and deliver food making it a little difficult to eat together. The grounds at the South Maui Garden are beautiful. There is a handwashing station nestled between some of the vendors. We went on a Sunday evening when a hula show was taking place. Patrons of the food oasis were not invited to cross the threshold to the show however, unless they wanted to pay $100 per person. You could catch a glimpse of the show through the fence and foliage, though, and everyone within a the area heard the music and narration associated with the performance. A few of the vendors were closed when we visited, so you never know, we may return. read more

When I first wanted to write a review for Kihei Food Oasis just over a year ago, their Yelp page didn't exist yet as they were just still kind of growing at the time. My husband and I love this place, and we're so glad to see that they not only have an official Yelp page now, but they've also practically doubled in size and have gotten more popular with locals and visitors alike! It's an amazing spot that's sure to have something for everyone! From vegetarians to carnivores, and the sweet tooth to the salty or spicy lovers, they've got everyone covered here with their impressive array of food trucks and local vendors. First off, if you've never been, this awesome oasis is located within South Maui Gardens, probably the most unique nursery & outdoor garden shop you've ever seen. The food trucks are parked by Alahele Pl. on one end of South Maui Gardens, while the more brick & mortar shops, like Da Green Coffee Bar and Blue Door Bakery, are located on the opposite side by Auhana Rd. Picnic tables and regular tables are sprinkled around the property, so it's really easy to find a place to sit, relax and enjoy your food. They even have live music here from time to time! Our favorite food truck is Sweet Hula for their super delicious and healthy Açaì bowls & smoothies. We also love Papio's Place for their worldly vegan cuisine. My hubby and I are plant-based athletes, so we truly appreciate when there are healthy, plant-forward options offered in these types of settings. When we first started coming to South Maui Gardens for food in Nov 2021, they had 3 food options at the time, including 2 of our other favorites: Da Green Coffee Bar and Blue Door Bakery. I can't believe this place hasn't been reviewed before. It is an amazing hidden gem in Kihei. There are multiple food trucks with really nice shaded seating areas and restrooms. We went on a weekend day and it wasn't crowded so there was no wait. But several of the food trucks were closed. We came here for Bling Bing, one of our favorite dessert places on the island, after they moved here. There is a great variety of food options so there is something for everyone. The property is huge! You can walk all the way back to a garden area. They even have a large space for private events. And they have live music Saturday nights. I love this new spot! read more

Loved this concept for Maui! We went here three times over several days! We tried Thai Mee Up Thai truck (Panang Curry and Chicken Satay) - the curry was a little weak tasting, very coconutty and not as spicy and rich as I'm used to in Seattle. The chicken satay was delicious with huge pieces of chicken. I was glad I got that too because the panang curry had very little chicken in it - just little bits. The 'Howz it eh?' Truck (Bacon Poutine) - it was delicious! We had Açaí @Sweet Hula - highly recommend. Pink Taco (Brisket Bowl) - basic but hit the spot. The gardens are beautiful and there is tons of seating. There is a wide variety of delicious options from savory to sweet, there's something here for every palate. Nestled in the middle are a few charming craft shops, perfect for picking up unique souvenirs or gifts. There isn't too much in the way of Maui nightlife, so this is a fun place to visit for an evening. A large assortment of food trucks offering Thai, Hawaiian, burgers, steak, Japanese, wings, dessert, etc. On certain evenings, there's a luau dinner that you can purchase tickets for which takes place in part of the garden attached to the food Oasis. There's plenty of parking, but you may need to do a few laps to find a free space or wait for someone who's leaving on busy nights.
