Maui Fish and Chips is hands-down the best fish and chips we've had in the last three years of visiting Wailea. I can't believe we just came here this year for the first time! The fish is perfectly cooked -- light, crispy batter with fresh, flaky fish inside -- and the fries are always hot and seasoned just right. My family and I think that the fried fish here is better then Paia Fish!!! The Cod and Ono are my favorites!! My husband always gets the chicken teriyaki with rice and absolutely loves it, so there's something for everyone. And don't skip the garlic fries -- they're amazing and addicting. Ono fish n chips were very good. My wife loves fish-n-chips and currently our favorite has been SeaPal Cove in Fort Bragg, Ca. This rivaled SeaPal. These were flavorful, not oily, with moist fish. No picture, ate it already... I also liked their coconut shrimp. Service was fine for a quick serve, and you can sit outside and kinda see the ocean Next Day: came back 'cause the wife needed another fix. The calamari was super soft and a lovely treat. The shrimp seemed liked it had previously been frozen and I suspect it would have been better grilled than fried. This is primarily fried foods with no fresh veggies. I def would have appreciated fresh veggies or even fruit to cut the fried fattiness. My kiddos barely touched their food which was a through bummer & I am glad I opted out of an adult entree for the Mexican food next door. read more

This place was great! Fast service! Good food. The sauces that they provided for your fish and fries were delicious. Everything came out fresh and hot!! We were not disappointed. All of the tables are outside under some string lights. It was a beautiful evening to enjoy a delicious meal outside! One of our favorite spots during our recent trip to Maui! We were excited to find a spot that specialized in fish and chips. The have lots of fried fish options, from classic cod to ono and ahi. We got the ono and the fish was really fresh. Loved the crispy fries paired with the fish. Super nice family who checked up on us several times and made sure we had everything we needed while we were there. Order and pay at the counter and find a seat outside. I don't get how this place is so highly rated. The food is tasty and comes out fresh. However, two major knocks. First and foremost, the fish servings are way too small. We ordered 5 entrees--different fish (fried, grilled, and tacos). Each fish portion was 3 ounces at most consisting of 2-3 paper thin fillets no bigger than a playing card. We opted for a mix of fries and rice--both decent servings. Second, they force you to buy bottled water. No cups or water station available. The fish tacos were overloaded with coleslaw and a super sweet dressing. Dialed back it had potential. It's fast casual with counter service. But with $20 plus entree prices, the fish portions should be at least 2x. read more

I think the food was decent. The location and the staff is why I am giving it four stars. It is right by the beach which is great. The staff were so nice! We ordered: - Cod fish and chips: good. I love the fries. It was nice and crispy. - Mahi tacos: There is a mound of slaw on it which had an interesting flavor. It's not your usual fish taco seasoning or slaw which I appreciated. They are generous with the fish as well. - Mozarella cheese sticks: not my favorite. They use the same batter on these as the fish which I'm not a fan of. But they weren't bad. The sauce it comes with was good but I prefer red sauce. It's a nice spot to try but not our favorite for fish. read more

Searched online for Fish and Chips and this spot was only a few miles from our vacation condo. Went right at opening, 11:30am. Each of us had the Combo - Mahi Mahi and Shrimp, one with regular fries and one with garlic fries, so good. We also added a side of Coleslaw and Onion Rings, both delicious. Not greasy as all, you know when you get to the bottom of the container and see grease....this spot is not this place at all. Crispy fried goodness. Will definitely be going back. On our most recent trip, we ate here four times in one week. Yes, it's that good. I had the ono fish tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. Perfectly fried with a light, crispy batter and topped with a refreshing coleslaw that added just the right crunch and tang. Simple, delicious, and totally addictive. My husband and son both ordered the ono fish and chips, and they were in heaven. The ono is fresh and flaky, and the fries are always golden and satisfying. We live in San Diego, surrounded by great seafood, but we dream about Maui Fish'N Chips when we're back home. We were staying across the street and after driving all over for all the "must eat" spots, finally popped in here on our last day to keep it easy. Simple straight forward menu with great kid options. The owner took our order and was super great about helping us pick out the right things and not over ordering. We easily could have gotten too much food but he helped make sure we got just enough - a level of honesty and transparency that's hard come come by in businesses these days and went a long way for us.
