Love the pizza, their stromboli is the hubby's favorite and the pasta? Delicious! It's our first choice whenever we're craving Italian

2nd time here, first trip was a five star experience. Not so much this time. My husband ordered the same as last time, the combination platter. I wanted to try something different so I ordered a small pizza. He loved his meal again, my pizza not so much. The pizza was a bit overcooked, very dry, I asked for a side of sauce which helped a bit. Very disappointed. There was something that was burning my eyes, thinking fumes from the pizza oven. And can I talk about an Italian restaurant being out of red wine? They had a flat, disgusting sweet red, not able to pass as wine. Just wondering if an Italian restaurant is out of red wine and you are right next to a Publix liquor store and grocery store, why would you not go buy a decent red wine, easy money maker. Very disappointing as I just shared this restaurant with many neighbors. Hoping it's a fluke, I will try again, and post an update. Service was excellent. Little hidden gems... Friday night date night! We had GARLIC KNOTS... We are used to them being served in an oil and/or garlic butter blend. These were offered with Marinara or Alfredo sauce. Not a fan of either on my knots. Asked out waiter if we could get some garlic butter and/or oil. He brings me a 4 oz. cup of minced garlic filled to the top. Enough to wart off several vampires about a month too soon. Not the best but not the worst, I was able to press the oil out of the garlic. She got the... CHICKEN PARMESAN DINNER Her absolute favorite, served over linguine with a red sauce. I could tell by the first bite she was not impressed. That went home and right into the garbage, sorry for wasting a good styrofoam container we should have left it there. I thoroughly enjoyed... STEAK, ONION & CHEESE SUB When I tell you this was the best $14 Steak Sub I've ever had, it was worth every penny. I ate half of it there and the other half the following day in the air fryer. Exceptionally delicious! This was our first visit. No sign upon arrival to the dining room, so we sat ourselves. Our waiter came by and took our drink order. Very pleasant and seemed to know what he was doing. Until the end of our meal, when he just seemed to forget about us. After dropping the food he never returned. She got up to ask another waitress for to go boxes. Then another 4-5 minutes later I had to go ask someone for our check. He finally brought the check with some attitude attached so I tipped accordingly. These waitstaff people who complain about their tips really need to ask themselves, "Did I do everything to the best of my ability and/or knowledge?" NOPE you probably didn't. I usually start my tip amount at 25%, but as my experience progresses and/or declines I will deduct money from that amount. It's there for the taking if you do your job to my satisfaction, if not oh well. We will be back for the food, we may not dine in, but if we do we will wait to be seated in someone else's section. read more

Heard allot of good things about Luigi's but sadly the first time there a couple days ago this was not the case. Food was mediocre, meatballs were actually tough my wife's veal piccata was tough as well with not that much flavor. The service was horrible, our waitress should not be working there. We saw other tables getting their breads on time but not us, when I asked if there was any bread in the back she could bring. she had some lame excuse about it takes time to bake yet we saw many others getting their breads coming in after us way before us. She finally showed up with bread get this, she said this came from a table where the customers didn't want it and here's your bread! What??!, did it come off their table and brought to us. We'll never ever go back to Luigi's. read more

I ordered a large Stromboli, Italian provolone sub, and mozzarella cheese sticks for my family. The total came to $46. The Stromboli had great flavors,however the garlic powder was covering the top was a bit over powering for some of them. The Italian sub was good! The mozzarella sticks were good but lacking mozzarella. It was more breading than I'd prefer. Over all, the experience was good. I've had better, I've had worse. Give me a try. read more

The service was great, the food was horrible. It is difficult to mess up spaghetti but they sure did. It came swimming in thin sauce and the meatballs were overcooked. Left most of it on the plate and will never go back here. Overpriced for the slop you receive. Dont waste your time or money. read more

A long time ago in downtown Eustis there was a Luigi's with table clothes and real Italian flare. They closed or moved and Takis took the space. This Luigi's in the Eustis Publix center is nothing like the old shop. The menu is similar and the attempt on fast order fettuccine, chicken piccata, along with fresh pizza is admirable but the execution is spotty at best. Sometimes it's good other times it's stomach upsetting bad. Blame the help, turnover, or management I don't know, but "Monday night karaoke" in a shopping center pizza joint is just silly. Focus on the food! My wife and I each had $20+ entrees and thought the food was tasty but not a value. We've had the pizza on other visits and preparation and freshness have been inconsistent. It is a sit down service or take out restaurant and the servers are able. The food is not remarkable and the prices are not a value. The place is not on my repeat list. read more

First experience (will not be the last) Luigi's menu is full of tasty food items ~ obviously this is a popular place ~ very crowded Ordered in for take out - ran to Bealls while we waited (still only about 20 minutes (very reasonable for pie) This was tasty (not the best ~ seemed skimpy on the items and the thin crust (for me ~ was to thin ~ edges held up but center of pie could hang in there). Stopped in to order a pizza for take-out on a Friday night. The place was almost completely full. Pizza was ready in 20 minutes. The crust is thin. Sauce is good and toppings and cheese were average as far as quantity. It was good, but not great. read more

I like the pizza but we went with a group and it wasn't good. Two of our group got their meals after everyone else was done and the manager came out with an attitude. They were busy and used that as an excuse. The food they finally delivered was rushed and not good. Eggplant had no sauce and was dry and hard as a rock. They comped one of the meals but not the other. They forgot about them. We won't go back. The snippy manager did it for us. The servers worked hard. Calamari was ok, veal, meh. Second time eating from this place the food was honestly amazing. Appetizers my girlfriend loved hers But mines was the calamari....it was chewy and tasted off. but it was very forgivable cause I can tell they tried so hard. Now the lasagna....it was amazing it was the best lasagna I've ever put in my mouth y'all did one hell of a good job and the cheesecake I felt as if I was in a dream best dessert ever! Customer service was amazing I really loved our server. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed our date and because of that I gave them 4 stars and a $15 tip. If you don't eat here, you are missing a culinary delight. The food and service is top notch. If you get a salad with your dinner, only eat part of it. You will not. have enough room to finish your entree. We have been coming to this area for about 5 years and this is the first time we tried Luigis. Our loss. Try it you'll love it. read more

If I could give more stars I would... on January 31,2023 My experience was phenomenal, the customer service was EXTREMELY GOOD. The prices are reasonable and the portions are worth your while. Everyone is so sweet. You can smell the lovely food from outside and even across the parking lot. And you will be full and still have food left over. We got Calzone with only sausage, pepperoni,ricotta and mozzarella with Meat sauce on the side with 6 garlic knots. The garlic knots soaks up the meat sauce to good and everything is make to PERFECTION!!!!. I love this business and will recommend this to everyone-Angel read more

Just opened and has hot fresh pizza like I ate in New York. Great fast service for lunch and a long menu so it not just pizza. We ordered a cannoli to go and the shell was fresh, the filling creamy and I wish I had a expresso. So next time..... I will be going back! read more

Tonight we were in the mood for Italian fare- so we read reviews on Luigis, and also were not interested in hunting for parking in downtown Mount Dora so we rode over to Luigis! The ambiance is definitely a bit lower end, so if you are looking for a more elegant evening out this may not be for you- but if you are looking for solid tasting Italian food with nice sized portions and very reasonably priced then you will enjoy Luigis! We had the Pasta Fagioli- which come w two Garlic knots, a half of a Greek salad to start and wow- we were already off to a good start! Then we had a small Stromboli & a small cauliflower crust Pasquale pizza and they were both delicious & we had lots of leftovers! We got all of this & a 9 Oz glass of wine for $60! So a great value and it all tasted very good! Service was also friendly & quick on a Saturday eve at 7. 5 stars!! read more

Great staff - from the owners to the friendly servers. I haven't tried their pasta, but their pizza is one of the best, if not the best, around the area. They have a wonderful white pizza on a delicious thin crust and their garlic cheese bread is to die for. The meatballs are also a MUST in your order. read more

Service was polite, friendly. We ordered the calamari appetizer. The texture was perfect, but it was lacking flavor, as if there was no seasoning at all. The marinara was also very bland. Garlic knots were not "knots" at all. They were puffy sections of bread, with the texture of a homemade cinnamon roll, but slathered in garlic and butter. And they lacked salt, like the appetizer did. My entree was the chicken Marsala. It was absolutely offensive. It tasted like a weak brown gravy with some sugar added to simulate a Marsala sauce. And it lacked seasoning. The chicken was coated in a heavy breading. I've never had chicken Marsala this way, so I was not prepared for that. I also didn't expect it to be served on top of a literal 1/2 pound of pasta. I'm used to chicken Marsala being served with potatoes or a choice of sides. My husband had ravioli. He said it was "ok at best". My son ordered chicken strips with fries and he said they were bland and just Ok. There was an extremely long wait to get our check and pay. Between the time our waitress asked if we needed boxes and getting the actual check was at least 15 minutes. Then when my husband gave her the card, we waited at least another 10-15 minutes. I will say that our waitress was polite, she boxed our food, and she was super nice. But she could have refilled my water at least once. We tipped 18% I'm so done with restaurants in Lake County. Love this little place. Very clean inside and very nice people working there. Did have a pizza from there the first time we tried it. Thin crust but delicious. Mushrooms, pepperoni was just right. More NY style but great for a change of pace. Another trip was for pick up. 2 subs. One meatball and one Cuban. The meatball was incredible and huge! This is how all their subs should be. The rolls were amazing, the meatballs were incredible and the size of baseballs! Our biggest disappointment and why 4 star rating was the Cuban sub. This had potential as again the roll was great but very very skimpy on the meat, cheese and toppings. Good flavor but paled in comparison to the other sub. Kind of disappointing for the price. But we will try the others as well as get the meatball again. Nice place, nice people and all in all the food is very good. read more

The service was good, polite and they came around to see if everything was up to our standards, and they were. The dining room could stand some fleshing up. Excellent customer service. Garlic knots were good but a little heavy on the garlic to the point where it burned. Alfredo was great but the chicken on it had been pulverized with a mallet.
