I came in for an oil leak from my car I really wish he would've told me the full price before doing anything to the car. Even though I was looking to fix it I would have preferred the estimate first to fix it and then go from there. I had gotten my oil change done somewhere else but I was looking for a mechanic to fix it the same day and with a good oil filter. I had to ask the guy a few times what the issue was and then he finally said it was the filter. The price was high for only 30 minutes I payed $80 when a normal oil change is $40-$60. I would have went back to the place I got my original oil change so that they can compensate me for a leaky filter because after getting it done they told me they would have done it free of charge since I payed for the full service a couple weeks ago. Sometimes it is better as a business owner to help a customer to get the best deal possible. Now I think the price was high and in reality he found where the leak was coming from fast. I wish if anything I would have called around more if he had told me the price before even starting to work on my car. He even said considering it was only the filter that the job wasn't an all day thing. And also a normal air filter for my specific car is 6-14 dollars. I had no choice at the end but to pay it because he didn't give me the estimate and already did the work. I mean realistically he made me pay him mostly for labor even though it wasn't a lot of labor. read more

He stayed open late to do a last minute oil change for a stranger. I had never been to this shop before but desperately needed an oil change for my Toyota and happened to be in the Azusa area. I called and he said he was about to close to travel to see family for the long weekend but if I could be there soon he would do it for me. Not only was he fast and kind, he checked my breaks, fluids, gave feedback and overall felt fatherly (but not condescending) throughout the whole visit. I went to 3 different mechanics they all told me I needed my master cylinder replaced(more expensive) When I came to Dave he kept it honest and told me I only needed my brakes adjusted, and no problems since! Dave is my 9th, yes, 9th mechanic for the same problem. The reason I gave him a try is because a very trustworthy friend said, hey, why don't you try my guy. I was apprehensive. I asked why? The answer is, "He's a miracle worker". That gave me hope so I said, the 9th and last one I'll try (thousands of dollars later). All of the reviews are spot on. I have found them all to be true. Each statement. And I second them. He is a miracle worker. I've been driving my car with confidence now for a month (after 3 years). I'm so grateful. Oh, and he gave me an oil change and a fill up on the freon for my non working air conditioner besides fixing the car for under the price I was quoted. Oh, and he also filled it up again on the house (so I would be comfortable in these summer days) so he can find the leak. I'm so glad I finally have a reliable mechanic to depend on.
