This has been my consistent meat source for the last year and a half since COVID started. I have always appreciated the knowledgeable and flexible service from the butchers and staff. The market also has a good general offering of produce and such that I only rarely need to go to a full sized supermarket. Also love there house made sauces/salsas. The side restaurant also has awesome selection of stuff. This place is kind of hard to see from Imperial Highway. I drive by it all the time but didn't realize it was even there until I saw something on Facebook from a local Downey group. What caught my eye was a photograph of brisket nachos. That looks delicious. I went in today and then what I ordered was a brisket sandwich. The meat was incredibly flavorful with a light hint of smokiness. I was truly impressed. They have a good-sized menu service was very quick and they have a top-notch butcher Department caring only the finest Meats and cuts of meat that you would not find anywhere else they have a small produce section. So today I stop by my local butcher shop Luis' after work 5pm to buy some fresh cut ham and some chuletas pork meat. Well the guy behind the counter he said no that the machine they use to cut it has been clean. Closing time is at 6 PM help me understand why at five an hour before closing you cannot get nothing from the deli. The person behind the counter didn't offer anything else from the meat department or the deli department that I can purchase without him using the machine that was clean already. If you ask me will I recommend this place no am I ever going back no. I'll take my business somewhere else. read more

Nice selection of beef. Staff there was very friendly. The butcher who helped me was a tall guy with beard. Didn't get his name. Super nice and helpful. They had some specialty cuts and im sure they would cut anything you want. They had Picanha so I bought one! Cut into steaks. Seasoned it with simple salt and garlic powder. Sous Vide it at 129 degrees for 2 hours. Seared it, then black pepper at the end. Now I know what the hype is all about. Delicious, very tender and juicy. Wow! I've been impressed by this butcher shop every time I walk in. Always clean, the prepped food is delicious and their cuts are very fine at a reasonable price. I wanted tomahawks and he asked if I would like cowboy steaks for a lesser price explaining to me it was a similar cut minus the bone for a lesser price. That's honest and very appreciated. After hearing so many great things about this place, finally gave it a try last night for dinner. We ordered the carne Assad and the marinated chicken and took it home to BBQ. The chicken was very good. Nice and moist and had good flavor. It was a little bit on the salty side (for me) so you may want to adjust your salt level of the salsa or guac you will be putting on the meat. Bf had the crane asada and he said it was amazing. No parties. Gotta flatten that curve. I also get my meats there to make caldo de res, or cocido, depending on where you're from. The chamorro is very tender. Meat cuts are great. Only reason why not 4 stars is because of the chicken milanesas. Unfortunately it has happened many times that the chicken is extremely saltyl to the point I had to throw them away. It'll be nice if the owner checks a bit better the prep process, less salt is better as you can always add more at home if need it. Please fix that and please make the chicken milanesas thicker, in that way they'll be juicy when fried instead of thin paper cut that will get hard to eat. Thank you. read more

I just found this place last week.But all the the locals know of this place.Even some of my closest yelp friends.So it's a meat market /Butcher Shop.As a first Timer here during the week I was told to go to the deli area.I was directed to order the brisket Sandwich.The brisket is smoked for 18 hrs then served in a bolillo.She used cheese on the roll that was toasted then covered with the house quacamole.They put a few chips in the container with a house salsa.I walked out of there for 9 bucks.The sandwich was huge.So that was during the week.I made myself a promise to return for superbowl meats.Sunday morning,I picked up 4 steak kabobs and chicken kabobs.I also picked up stuffed jalapeños,they were stuffed with chorizo and the other was carnitas.I picked up about 20 of those.They were a hit at the party.Thanks Luis Butcher Shop,Good Job! read more
