Finally came to try this spot today after seeing a couple recommendations on Facebook! Now although this is a butcher shop they also sell food from their kitchen. I didn't try any of their meats but I tried the food from the kitchen. Every Thursday they have tacos for $1, except the brisket tacos are $1.50. So I decided to get tacos because of the deal! believe they offer chorizo, carnitas, asada, pastor, pollo, and brisket. Usually I'm a "two de asada and two de pastor" type of girl but I opted to be different this time lol. Today I ordered four tacos: one carnitas taco, one chicken taco, one pastor taco, and one brisket. Here's my review: Carnitas taco (3/5 stars): this taco wasn't bad but not my favorite! I think the carnitas were a little too hard for me. I like the softer part of carnitas. I could do without this taco. Overall decent. Pastor taco (5/5 stars): SOOOO GOOD! Seriously one of the best pastor tacos I've ever had. If you try the tacos I definitely recommend getting pastor. So juicy and so flavorful! Trust me you're going to want more! Pollo taco (5/5 stars): SOO GOOD! I never really try tacos de pollo from other places like taco trucks or stands but like I said I wanted to be different. I'm so glad I got this taco because it was SO SO SO GOOD. Definitely made me a believer in chicken tacos (at this spot at least.) The meat was juicy and flavorful once again. Wasn't dry like other chicken. Brisket taco (100/5 stars): THIS TACO. This one was THE ONE! When I saw reviews and saw this on the menu I was skeptical because smoked brisket just sounds so weird on a taco. But everyone hyped it up so I tried it and once again I'm so glad!!! I loved it! Once again meat was just so on point! Other things to note: 1. Green salsa was bomb! Doesn't have a super spicy kick to it which is good for me. 2. That peanut salsa!! Ask for this salsa! I'm not a fan of red sauces but this peanut sauce was so damn good! You definitely need this on your taco! Overall 5/5! My tummy is full and happy! It's a little out of the way for me, but I love everything I've tried from Luis' Butcher Shop. Their marinated asada and marinated chicken is so bomb. I trust any of their marinated meats because they're fresh, tender, and tasty. The chorizo is perfect refried with beans and cheese. Such a good tasting chorizo! Forget buying that from the grocery store. I've had their chilaquiles and they're some of the most authentic with addicting red sauce on top. The brisket is perfection. My family and I have been coming here for so long because we love the Argentinian chorizos. We got some Friday for Father's Day and when we made them yesterday we smelled like a weird rancid smell. We go and smell the chorizos and they smelled nasty like old and greasy. We then call the store and tell them what happened. The man said he was the owner and all he could do is give us $1.60 back for the incident. $1.60 really? We're loyal customers always going there the least they could have done was give us a little more than that but they didn't. The guy said there was nothing they can do? For the taco el pastor I tried a few weeks ago. They rival the Tacos El Gordo in the Charleston plaza in Las Vegas. Top notch, meat is perfectly seasoned, ingredients are fresh, and they are served with fresh cilantro and a piece of lime that you can squeeze over, as well as some house salsa you can dip them into. THE BEST!!! Prepared food- if you dont get some tacos you are shorting yourself a on some amazing fresh food with great taste. my favorite is the Chipotle tacos but the fish tacos are epic as well. I have been going to Luis' Butcher Shop for a few years since it is close to my work place. However, their customer service need to be improved. I did meet the owner, Moises, who was able to take care of my concern. But the cashiers working in the front may benefit from some customer service training. It is unprofessional to tell the customer that they need to know what coupons to use when they do see what coupons show up on their Five Star system. Also not professional when they complaint about the customers in Spanish just because I am not Hispanic. Also not professional to not give their customers Five Star points. If that is the case, don't tell customers to sign up for Five Star. I like the store and will spent money there, but the attitude and rudeness are not enough for me to return anymore. read more
