    Large extra cheese

Luisa's might be my favorite pizza in Charlotte. The marinara and the cheese are just so good. I recently got a build your own pizza with just extra cheese and it was 10/10. I ordered delivery today to my job for a coworker's going away party. Luisa's does not deliver, but they use a third party app called Slice. I ordered 2 days ahead for a certain delivery time and our pizza was delivered right on time. My only complaint is that it wasn't hot. It was lukewarm at best which is odd because we are only about 6-8 minutes drive from Luisa's. I don't think it was Luisa's fault which is why I'm still giving 5 stars. Other than that, delicious!

Luisa's is one of my favorite pizza places in Charlotte and it is flowing with nostalgia. I don't know how long they have actually been open, but it really feels like an old school joint. It is located in a shopping center on Montford on the second floor. Waking inside it really feels like a 90s pizza joint and I mean that in the best way possible. They have a small bar located towards the front, and they offer a lunch buffet that is all you can eat. Their pizza is very cheesy which is a huge plus for me, I hate when places skimp on the cheese. If you aren't in the mood for pizza they have some delicious subs, traditional Italian dishes, and some great sides as well. It is my understand that they have a new owner who has taken over, and I am not sure if the owner intends to keep things the same or bring in a new concept, but I certainly hope Luisa's is here to stay.

Luisa's Brick Oven Pizza Restaurant Review Tonight's visit to Luisa's Brick Oven Pizza was a bit of a disappointment. Whenever I try an Italian restaurant for the first time, I judge them based on a few key dishes: their red sauce, meatballs, lasagna, and eggplant parmigiana if they are available. Unfortunately, most of what I ordered did not impress. Walking in on a Monday night at 7 PM, I found the dining room nearly empty, with only two other couples dining in. That should have been my first clue. The menu was also missing a staple. No Caesar salad in sight. I thought all Italian restaurants served one, but not here. Instead, they offer a garden salad that reminded me of that one Family Guy episode where the restaurant is assembling a salad for take out. See video here: https://youtu.be/JgJUbmGDc6k The waitress was very friendly but did not seem to have much knowledge of the menu outside of the pizza selection. I started with the meatballs, which come as eight small one-ounce balls covered in red sauce and mozzarella cheese. They were just okay. I was told they are made in-house, but they had that unmistakable freezer taste that made me question it. Then came the eggplant parmigiana, which was the biggest letdown. I had seen Google Maps photos online that looked promising, but what I was served was completely different. Instead of the thin lengthwise slices I prefer, I was served 4 thick, round single slices that were greasier than a funnel cake at a county fair. It was served over a hefty portion of overcooked angel hair pasta, which did not help matters. On a brighter note, I did enjoy their red sauce. It leans sweeter and is less acidic, which I like. Their garlic bread was also solid. It was served warm, more of a flatbread style, and pretty tasty. I ordered the meat lasagna to go, but there was nothing spectacular about it from the tasting I had. Just average. The one surprise? They have good sweet tea. I do plan on coming back to try their pizza as that seems to be their strength. Maybe I will have better luck next time. But as for the other Italian dishes, I will pass.

Lovely. Pizza was good, ordered onions on it and there were plenty! Service quick, ambiance chill. No touchtunes unfortunately :(

Haven't been here in years. Was craving pizza today & drove to that side of town to scoop a pie & see if it was as good as I remembered. It was! Pizza has been great for years, I normally just order pickup.

Luisa isn't some sexy pizza joint with any shtick. They make some delicious pizza on the second floor of this shopping complex in Montford. I was honestly shocked as I looked down and saw the whole pie was gone. Their house pie's were a bit odd in my opinion, so I decided to make my own. Our server gave us a great experience with how quickly everything came out. A great experience for sure! Can't wait till we meet again Luisa!

The cheese sticks were hot and fresh with extra seasoning not my favorite but good. The pizza was good and we substituted sun-dried tomatoes for regular tomatoes, but it still needed a pop of flavor. It seemed a little plain?

I stumbled upon Luisa's by mere chance. We had plans to go to another restaurant and it was packed. We had to pivot and spotted Luisa's that is situated off of Montford in a shopping centre on the second level. Boy am I happy we found it. It was refreshing to see that they did have a brick oven and that the pizza would have that brick oven taste. Sat down and ordered a muffuletta pizza that is inspired by the New Orleans sandwich. The pie packed a flavour punch and had a crispy crust. We also ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich with fries. The sandwich was incredible and flavourful and the bread was fluffy, however the fries were bland and didn't have any seasoning at all. Also, the food portions are generous and will need a box to take lunch for the next day.One thing I noticed is that the restaurant felt super outdated but the food compensated for it and the server was great too.

We went across the street and they didn't allow dogs on the patio so a quick Yelp search led us to Jack Beagles. With a dog in the name, I figured it would be dog friendly and I was right... it's event dog friendly inside which was great since we had the baby and it was hot out. They were happy to seat us in the dining room and since breakfast was about to end and lunch was about to start, we had the option of both. Some ordered breakfast and a few of us order the tenders because our server said it was one of the most popular items. I don't normally go for tenders at a new place, but they had garlic parm which drew me in. They were pretty great and served with waffle fries. My buddy got this massive burger that I was eyeing as well and I had a little bit of food envy when it came out. It was called The Big Bear and was sporting 2 Patties, 2 X Bacon, 2 x White American Cheese, Pickled Jalapeno, and Chipotle Aioli. I would definitely try that next time. Only odd thing was that when the burger came out, my buddy asked for a knife other than a butter knife to cut it since it was so big. Instead of offering to bring it to the kitchen to cut it, she came out from the back to say they don't have any steak knives and the only sharp ones are with the cook. No big deal, but a little odd. Anyway, we had a great lunch before hitting the road that accommodated all of our needs.

Our visit happened to be during Charlotte Hot Chicken Week so of course we had to try their special! For only $8 you could get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was really good! The Chicken was nice and crispy, not too spicy and the thick cut pickles really brought it all together. Also enjoyed were the Botz burger and cheese fries. I loved how they choose to serve waffle fries over regular fries. There is just so much texture and flavor going on there. They have a big menu of mac and cheese dishes that sound super interesting so maybe we'll try that next!

Despite it being packed, we were seated immediately because we said we would take an outdoor table. As soon as the server came to our table to take our drink order, we made sure to order our food too. After this interaction, we never saw her again until the bill. Other employees ended up dropping off our drinks & food. I ordered 1/3 rack of the St. Louis Style ribs. It came with two sides. I chose French fries and chips & guacamole. Chips & guacamole was considered a premium side so they charged an extra $4. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our food after we ordered. This wasn't a bad wait considering how busy the restaurant was. Food was decent and the location was nice as it was on the water. The absolute best part of the whole dining experience was the music. Whoever was controlling the playlist that night deserves a raise. It was peak millennial, throwback to the Disney Channel days music. There was a ton of parking as the restaurant is located in a big shopping center. I would definitely go here again, but if there is a concert nearby that night, I would recommend getting there early.
