Tired of paying $5 for 1 donut at a local specialty store, I decided to swing by Nicola's at around…read more10 AM on a Friday. The shop keeper was as nice as nice could be. I could see that they had sold out of a few items, like fried oreo donuts, but they still had plenty of delicious treats left. I went with an apple fritter, guava-filled donut, samoa donut, and a frosted, then topped with mini M&Ms donut. Total cost for 4 pastries: $11.00. I made the mistake of having a piece of the apple fritter on my way home, and sadly could not stop eating it; thus, no picture. However, it was AMAZING. One of my favorites ever. The other donuts were parceled out over the weekend, and they were all delicious. This store has been around forever, and they are just as good as they always were. They also offer breakfast sandwiches and various coffees. Parking can be tricky even with their own parking lot, but it's worth the hassle. If you're done overpaying for fancy donuts, Nicola's will satisfy the craving.

BEST donut shop in Tampa!! Great selection and they put out new special donuts occasionally. The…read moreservice is always spectacular. The gentleman that works the morning, always remembers us and makes my kids feel welcome. I think the kids like to go see him as much as they do the donuts! The donuts are mostly yeast donuts and just as good if not better than Krispy Kreme! My daughter loves the fried Oreo, my son like the mini holes and red velvet and I go for the glazed mini croissants, red velvet (cake donut) and Vanilla coconut (cake donut). The regular donuts are so light and fluffy, cake donuts are so moist and tender they even have breakfast sandwiches options on bagels and croissants (I think, but bagels for sure) HIGHLY recommend!!! Only downfall is they sell out fast and close when they sell out. So best time to go is 7-9am. I think they're open until 1, but there won't be much left by then. It's a great stop on yoir way to work because he opens really early! Iced coffee is also really yummy. Nit too sweet!

I stopped by later in the day, and they were basically sold out of almost everything which, honestly, is usually a great sign for a donut shop. There were only a few apple fritters left, along with some Boston cream donuts, so I grabbed a box to bring to the office during my clinical rotations and made sure to save one of each for myself. The apple fritter was absolutely delicious. fresh, flavorful, and packed with that perfect balance of sweetness and texture. The Boston cream was just as good, with a light, fluffy donut and a rich filling that wasn't overly sweet. The biggest compliment I can give is that the entire office loved them, and they disappeared quickly. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had that classic mom-and-pop shop feel that's getting harder to find these days. You can tell they focus on making quality products rather than trying to be a trendy chain. Next time I'll definitely make it there earlier before everything sells out. If a shop is running low by the afternoon, they're clearly doing something right. Hole In One Donut is a hidden gem, and I'd absolutely recommend stopping by if you're in the area. I'll definitely be back.
