awful!! about 900 dollars in at the vets since the grooming 3 weeks ago!! I'm in tears!! I'm so upset he clearly got nicked with the tools and now had some infection or who knows! he looks a mess scabs everywhere!! he has never had skin problems his entire almost 11 years!! Brought my border collie in for a groom and just wanted her shaved down.. she came in it 9:00 and she called me said she was going to be another 2 hours and then another 2 hours and before I knew it I was picking her up at 5:00. I am thrilled to have found a new groomer for my good little boy. These guys are the best groomers we've been to in the Reno area. Tammy is incredible with Shi Tzu's. They took us on a walk in and nailed every detail and even trimmed his face 'pom' style going above and beyond for us. Jackie is very down to earth and personable. Lulu's is awesome!! The ladies were very nice and Jackie did a fantastic job on both of my boys! She was able to squeeze me in within 2 weeks even though we were new clients. She took great care of my old boy( 14 year old Aussie Shepherd) and gave him a summer shave . He is SOOO Happy!! My other boy is a large Husky who was packed out with fur. If you have any type of doodle stay away. They don't know how to cut them properly. I have given them three years of chances with our dog and each time I pick him up I can't stand how he looks. I've given them photos. I've given them instructions. I finally resorted to telling them not to touch his face and I cut his face. The final straw was yesterday. He was long and had some mats and I told them to make him short and get the mats out but NOT touch his face. I would work on the face. But the lady wasn't listening and after I left just I knew she was going to do what was easiest for her. And she did. She buzzed my doodle from tail to face including the long ears. All my kids sobbed when they saw him. He is unrecognizable. He is shaved down to the skin and it is winter. This will take a year to fix. read more

Aside from being the most flexible groomer around -- in that they accommodate you in the most busiest of times, regardless of short notice -- they are also the most inexpensive. I have been here a dozen times now and they groom Zoie the same, consistently, each time. She always looks her very best and I have yet to have another bloody incident. The owner is always very kind, on the phone and in person, and the customer service from the groomers are decent enough. My dog is a scruffy lil pound puppy. He does not like strangers, other dogs (any animals, really, but he HATES other dogs!) and he does not like to have his feet touched. He's kind of a jerk to the rest of the world, but to our family he is a sweet little snuggle pup. Anyways, grooming him is a struggle. He cries, squirms, generally tries to avoid cooperating as much as he can. The wonderful ladies at Lulu's are so kind and patient with my little monster. We just moved here from California and had a terrific groomer there who had been working with our dogs for over four years. We moved to Reno on 9/11 of this year and I had our four dogs groomed by a mobile groomer who did a nice job but was sooooo expensive and would only stay in Sparks so I had to TAKE my 4 dogs to a mobile groomer! Kind of defeats the purpose! I physically went to Lulu's because I hadn't received a call back but was greeted by an awesome owner (Jackie) who booked an appointment for me on 11/5. I dropped off my brood at 12 and got a call from Jackie at 4 telling me to come pick them up. We have 3 Pekingese and a Pomeranian. I was told to bring my dog in at 10:30, so I did. 4 hours later I get a call from " Jackie" sternly saying to me "that my dog would take all day because his tail was matted". When I made the appointment, I mentioned to Jackie that my dog was neutered about 3-4 weeks before his appointment would be and it had been a while since I was able to brush him because of his tender area and so I wanted to have a professional do it. Good lord I took $200 in cash to pay for my dog and my other little dog that had to have some work done too. The total was $120 and she said I can give you change if you want me too? I'm all for tipping but to be "given a talkin to about why I brought my dog in to begin with and to beg for a tip left little to be desired to go back. Plus there was some guy in there without a mask and no one did anything about it. Total time at that place for my dogs was 6 1/2 hrs. Wish I could give more stars as I heard this was a good place. My Dogs look no different than if I'd done them myself. And I know how hard that line of work is because I typically groom my dogs myself. A low maintenance dog is best for here. I mean no offense as this was my experience. There was one nice groomer there that gave me a little smile as I feel she knew what I was thinking. Kudos to her! read more

I use to take my royal standard poodle Ruger to Lulu. I thought we had a good relationship that you would expect with a small business for 6 years. When my dear Ruger suddenly passed away and had to cancel my appointment I never heard back from them. No condolences no response at all when I left a message. I would think for 6 years as a customer with my dear poodle they would have cared enough to call. But apparently Lulu doesn't value keeping and maintaining customer relationships with a word of kindness. I am getting a new poodle puppy will be looking for a new groomer that cares. read more

Very pleased with the grooming of our Yorkie and Sheltie several times now . The dogs do not shy away, which means they are comfortable there, and come home looking great. Jackie is very pleasant and quite accommodating. Nextdoor recommended her as well. read more

We have used LuLu's a handful of times. We were concerned about how long they were keeping our dogs there so we let the owner know that it was just unacceptable. The next time was better and they were done in about 3 hours. This time however, our dogs were there for 6.5 hours!! I feel like a terrible dog mom for taking them back there. They are two small dogs and shouldn't take any longer than 3 hours total. I had to call at 4:45 knowing that they close at 5pm to check on my dogs. When you make an appointment here they say to just drop your dogs off anytime before 12 but clearly they need to set specific times so the dogs don't have to be there all day. I'm sure they didn't get any food or water all day and had to stay locked up in a cage until they finally had time for them. We won't be using LuLus again. read more

I took my 7 month old puppy to be groomed and asked that they trim her fairly short for summer. I felt pretty good about leaving her- they assured me she would be ok. This is NOT the first time she's been to a groomer, just our first time at lulus. It's been 3 days since I picked her up and my puppy is miserable. The overall cut on her coat is fine but they cut between her paw pads so short that they knicked her several places- and she is licking at dry blood spots, the sanitary cut is too short and my puppy is so miserable when she walks she yelps and lays down. I trusted Lulus to take great care of my pet and as experts they should know how short or long to leave the hair in sensitive places. I am So disappointed. read more

Tough decision for me on this rating...I do love Lu lus for the quality job they do...however, several times my dogs were requested to arrive at 8a.m and found that grooming them didn't even begin u til after 12 noon. Soooooooo, 8-5 with no water AND no potty break. I don't understand why lu lus requests any dogs arrive so early when lu lu knows groomer won't get to your dog for several hours. My dogs arrived at 8am (as lu lu requested) and weren't "ready" u til 5pm....how is that possible and that much time without water or potty break is beyond Concerning. I'm very torn ... I like the grooming job they do but I'm now questioning care..,.? Just a heads up. I'll go back again but will have detailed conversation first..... read more

I've been here a few times and this last time was a terrible experience. I understand that grooming dogs can be difficult and some of them just don't want to listen to you. My dog has never had any problem with any groomer or anyone else for that matter. I have made sure to desensitize him to myself and others and he is fine at the vet and with everyone who's ever watched him. I got a call today from one of the staff members telling me my dog was biting their scissors and that it's too difficult to cut his face, but she was going to try again anyway. So you just called me to complain about it? Okay....? Isn't that something that should've been mentioned when I picked him up? So someone can talk to me about what to do about it. But his face is cut fine, so how much of a problem was it? Not just that but when I picked him up and we got outside he peed for an excessively long time and when I asked if he was taken out to pee I was snapped at. "We take the bathers out at 1230" Then he got home and he ran to his water bowl. I would've loved to continue to support a local business but this experience was appalling and I shudder to think, if they treat human customers like this how do they treat their canine ones? read more

As soon as I saw the name Lulu's, I new it was destiny for my little fat poodle named Lulu Belle to be groomed here. They are professional, very nice and do awesome work. She had two hot pink bows on each side of her ears. I thought she looked soooooo cute. My little Lulu loves to look at herself in the mirror and she loves it when we tell her she's so pretty. They did everything, cleaned her ears and pulled the hair out of them. Trimmed her up and she smelled so good and felt like velvet. I was impressed. I was surprised that they weren't in yelp already. I had to add them myself. I recommend them to everyone and don't waste your money at Petsmart grooming. They are way better here at Lulu's. Love the name too. 5 stars! You guys rock!!! read more

I highly recommend this place to everyone that regularly takes their dog for grooming. They are the most friendliest and courteous people ever! Price is honest and decent. I wish we had known about this place before. I was looking for a last minute place to get my little yorkie poodle cleaned up from his matted hair and when I called for availability on a Saturday, they were just about full on their schedule, but they were so nice enough to squeeze him in. I was actually very nervous bringing him here because he hasnt really gotten comfortable whenever I had taken him to get groomed. This place is awesome! I will bring my baby back here again and again! I adopted a toy poodle a few months ago. His fur was so dirty and matted. I was able to scissor of his mats and get his fur cleaned at home, but I needed some help making him look like a poodle. So I was searching for a groomer. I didn't want to take my baby to PetsMart or Petco because I've heard some bad reviews about those groomers. So I found Lulu's, and luckily she's in my neighborhood! I brought my poodle in and Lulu's was so kind and gentle with him. She said they would take their time with him to make sure his experience there was less stressful. When I went to pick him up, I almost didn't recognize my little baby. He was so cute and fluffy and smelled so fresh! I was very happy with Lulu's work. I can't wait to bring my baby back to her. My regular groomer who we loved moved to Texas so we've been on the hunt for a dog groomer ever since. Trust me, it's harder to find somebody who has mastered the Shih Tzu shave than you think. First of all I was sold based on setting up the appointment because the woman was so nice. Then she got Pocket in super quick and they were cheaper than Petsmart. Pocket's cut turned out super cute and the staff were really sweet. We'll be back for sure! So, for the Shih Tzu shave with the teddy bear face it cost $40. They said they do in between touch ups for $25. That $40 also included the sanitary shave, nail clipping and her ears. read more

Moved to Reno a few months ago with my four toy poodles. Three of whom were groomed in show clips, (congenital), clips. I took them to four groomers who said they could groom them. None could. As a matter of fact, the last one to whom I took them made such a mess of their beautiful coats that, being a groomer myself, I had to shave them down, getting rid of all the look that took a couple of years to grow. You can't believe the money I wasted on these groomers. Them someone recommended Lulu's. Skeptable I took them there. They looked fabulous when I picked them up.
