My wife and I showed up without a reservation but ended up snagging seats at the outdoor back patio bar right at 5pm -- honestly, it was a great spot. The back patio is seriously cute and a perfect spot to unwind. Service was friendly, quick and attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. We came for happy hour and left seriously impressed -- ok prices for happy hour, solid options, and the food quality and presentation was high class. We got the happy hour - white queso. Absolutely decadent. Fired chopped onions, cumin -- it's deeply savory and completely addicting. We could have ordered three of them. We got the happy hour shoestring fries also-- crispy, tasty, and a generous portions. If you don't get there by 5pm make a reservation. We will be back for dinner sometime. What's better than Brunch and Bravo Bingo for Mother's Day? Eating a gluten free, dairy free satisfying brunch with great drinks in a family friendly environment...while playing Bravo Bingo! Lulu's has such a charming back patio, I'm so glad my son suggested we come. The interior is pretty loud, so sitting outside was the best option. They do have heaters (and blankets) which kept us warm as temps dropped. As mentioned, the back garden provides a lovely ambiance to enjoy dinner & cocktails. I ordered the First Bloom - great gin/aperol/elderflower cocktail. Not part of the golden hour, but it sure tasted nice! I think my festive choice manifested peak bloom the very next day! ;-) Service was good, though is limited to turning on heaters for guests and delivering items ordered via QR code. There was very little interaction with servers, which is kinda a bummer if you're a people person. The harissa whipped feta was more like straight up hummus to me, but I enjoyed spreading it on the thick slices of bread that come with. It tasted great. Came here for their Golden Hour (their happy hour) and had such an incredible time! The place is adorable with the cutest outdoor patio ever. It feels like you're in Spain or something. There's lots of seats and a bar in the back so it's perfect for a romantic date night or for snacks and wine with friends! We happened to be there during happy hour (score!). The prices are quite reasonable at $10 per glass for happy hour wines, and they have a better selection than most places I've been to. The elote fritters, salad, and my fish tacos were all very good. My only complaints were that the salad had onions and my friend said it didn't have them last time she went, and I wish my fish tacos had a bit more fish. It was pretty quiet when we first arrived but it got very loud by the time we left. Otherwise, food and drinks all arrived quickly and exactly as we ordered them. We went here for Sunday music bingo and honestly it was the BEST time. My friend and I actually both got bingo and she received a tiny bottle of rose and I won a $15 gift card (which I'm very excited to use soon). I really love the New Mexico/Southwestern influences and the food is delicious. You do order everything on Toast, but the food comes quickly and the staff is attentive. I came with two other friends on a Saturday evening and we were able to sit immediately indoors (which was good because it was raining a ton!!) We got the fish tacos, chicken taquitos, fries, avocado Caesar, hatch chile mac n cheese, and the whipped feta dip. We thought it would be too much, but the portion sizes are relatively small so we were able to polish most of it off. We ended up coming to Lulu's because they were doing a Vanderpump Rules premiere watch party. If you are into Bravo, it looks like they do occasional Bravo related events. It was cold that day but thankfully they had two open seats inside. The inside is small, it had a few picnic benches and a couple of smaller tables. It is definitely more well known for the patios. They have a front and back patio that we didn't check out because it was cold. I had a themed martini that was very delicious but it was small. I also had the grilled cheese and tomato soup which was so flavorful. I will say the food and drink felt pricey, my tab at the end of the night for one drink and one entree was $42. You order from your table online using a QR code, and our food and drinks came out pretty quickly after ordering. Overall, it was a cute spot and I will probably be back (on a warmer day). read more

I have visited Lulu's on three separate occasions (with fairly large groups) and each time it has been fantastic! Each visit took place over the weekend, during the winter, in the mid afternoon (post brunch hang out) and it has always been fairly crowded. It's one of my favorite places to grab drinks with friends and I've never had less than a great time! They even have themed nights for popular tv shows! The wine and drinks are good with many options to choose from. Ordering is done on your phone which gives you plenty of time to read the descriptions, check out photos, and place orders when you're ready (always nice when you're with a group - plus easy payment!). They have themed drinks for the holidays AND golden hour where you can get some discounts on your favorites. What's not to love! Finally, shoutout to the staff! They are always friendly, quick, and helpful if you have questions. Whether I've made a reservation or not they are always accommodating which is appreciated. Once we stayed well past closing (we didn't realize that) and they were so nice about it! Lulus is definitely one of my staples and I'm there at least once a quarter! Came to Lulu's for a watch party. They have a TV outside on their patio and two inside. As mentioned, you order via a QR code for everything. This includes water refills, extra cutlery, etc. This streamlines ordering exactly what you want and you also pay your tab this way. We ordered their pumptini for the night and I got a roasted carrot salad. The cocktail was shown on paper to be $14 but was actually $15. For how small it was, I wouldn't expect to pay that much for a cocktail. Everything seemed absurdly overpriced. For a salad and cocktail it was about $40 with tax and tip. They provided us wine glasses that had lint from being wiped and graciously swapped them out once we noticed (although I had already drank my wine, oops!) Ordering and payment is done via QR code so there wasn't much interaction and if you had questions you had to flag someone down. This is one of the best happy hours in DC, both in value and quality. I've had a couple of positive experiences here. I hosted a going-away reception for a coworker here on a Friday night. I contacted management a few weeks before the event, and they were quick to respond to emails. They had a variety of options for spaces and tables we could reserve (without a fee or tab minimum). They set up our group of a dozen or so on the inner patio at a corner table with built-in benches on each side. The space is beautifully decorated and perfect for an evening outside--complete with a lot of fans to keep you cool in the summer. Service via QR code orders to the bar and kitchen was quick and convenient. Everyone was extremely happy with the quality of the food for a restaurant that is primarily a bar. I got there around 430pm and there was plenty of space still, but it eventually started getting busier. So I would reccomend reservations if you go at that time. My friends and I decided to share each dish and try them like tapas. We sat outside in the front wine garden and it was nice and shaded with a calm atmosphere. The rear wing guard seems to have a more energetic vibe. We got the harissa feta dip which was late and fluffy and delicious and came with bread. We also enjoyed the chicken taquitos, which had a good flavor and nice crunch. Finally, we tried the Caesar salad. I loved it! The avocado was a nice touch and I like that it was kale based. It was a different take on a Caesar dressing, but I liked it and it felt homemade. My friends thought it may be lacked some lemon for acidity. We rounded out our meal with a slice of the funfetti cake since it seems like one of their signature dishes. It was OK- not sure if I'd go out of my way to get it again but I might be biased against it bc I am more of a Chocolate person The frosting was light and felt cream cheese based and the cake tasted of fresh vanilla. Make your own mimosa kit (you can choose your juice- OJ, grapefruit or pineapple) and they give you a bottle of champagne and adjust of your choice so you can pour your own mimosas for $40. My bestie and I attended a trivia night at Lulu's Winegarden and we were absolutely enthralled at the atmosphere, experience, food, drinks, and decor! Everything in there was absolutely beautiful and thought out. I think it is probably the most aesthetically pleasing place I've ever been, and is exactly what a wine garden would look like if I opened one myself! We got the hummus and naan, fries, margaritas, a bottle of rosé, burgers, a craft cocktail, and way too many other things but overall, the prices were really good and trivia night was so much fun even though we got most of them wrong. The other participants were really nice and tables were mostly set up by banquet tables so you were sat with other people. I liked how they had hooks behind the banquet tables for you to hang your purse or coat, and it's very close by to Metro so it's easy accessible. I didn't see any parking spots though, but that's typical for DC. read more
