My first time here in this lulu. Unfortunately, I'm not satisfied with the service at all. It seems like they treated some customers better than others. At the cashier, I was exchanging an item, and they barely greeted me, nor did she give me a bag. As I went back in line to get a bag, I saw that the same cashier gave the next lady a bag. I'm trying to be positive but i feel a little disappointed and offended. It wasn't a big deal but I would expect better service for the prices of lulu. I would probably never come here again. Yesterday evening around 7:30pm, I went to exchange a $60 Pale Aqua Yoga top for a pair of pants, which I received as a gift from my mother. The yoga top was in brand new condition with all tags attached...To my surprise, a sales associate with long, dark, wavy hair inspected the garment and told me in an unapologetic tone that I could not exchange my gift without a gift receipt, and/or 14 Days After Purchase and also because her store no longer carried "That Color" anymore. The sales associate did not even offer to escalate my transaction to a manager. What kind of business is Lululemon running? Who is in charge of hiring and training their customer service staff? What ever happened to "The Customer Is Never Wrong." Conclusion: Do Not Shop at Lululemon for Yourself...and definitely Do Not Shop at Lululemon if you are Buying a Gift for someone you care about. I'm seriously tired of the crap attitudes of Lululemon employees. On a previous yelp review, of another lululemon location (Union Street San Francisco) the same crappy service was at this location. Not greeted once... not even glanced at. I needed assistance, and was flat out ignored. When I did finally get the attention of one of the THREE girls in a EMPTY STORE... she answered with a short No, as she turned away. I then walked down to the PUMA store and was greeted warmly, and easily dropped my hard earned cash there. I have to admit, Lululemon's products are nicer, more of my style, but I definately don't want to support a company that doesn't focus on customer service. Yes, the products at Lululemon Athletica are high quality, but their return policy is awful. I would never purchase anything from this company again due to this fact. I received a nice jacket for Christmas from a family member and it was a size too small. Unfortunately they did not include a gift receipt and did not save the receipt. I went into the store to ask if I could do a simple exchange for the same jacket in a different size. They said no. I can understand not returning something for cash or credit, but not to exchange the same item for a different size is ridiculous. I even emailed the corporate headquarters asking for an exception. DONT BE FOOLED! Although some of the apparel is of high quality, I've spent lots of money on Lululemon clothes and have found flaws in the designs and the return policy is of questionable integrity. Some items don't hold up as well as youre made to believe and despite what they say, many of them shrink. I've found this mostly with shorts and skirts purchased over the summer..3 pairs of no use to me now. They also hem your pants for free, but hemmed mine too short and now are also of no use to me. Yesterday I purchased a new vest that was brand new in the store and very cute. I tried it on and thought it looked nice. I bought it and brought it home. I took the tags off and wore it around the house for awhile when I noticed that the underarms were drooping down and flaring out. They look like a hanging lip under each under arm..definitely a design flaw that unfortunately I did not notice nor expect while I was at the store. It it almost seemed like the flaw stretched out after I'd worn the vest for a while. I took it back to the store to exchange it today after work. I had the tags that I had removed and the receipt, however they refused to exchange it for the next size down, although the manager had me try the next size down on just to taunt me.. that it was my fault that had bought the wrong size, and that it's not a design flaw. The cashier suggested that I gift it to a friend. (With a design flaw? Without tags? Some friend I'd be!) Now I'm stuck with a $140 vest that I won't wear! And theyvwont even honor their own product by exchanging it for the next size down only 24 hours later. I have never heard of such a unreasonable policy. FYI, I've never written a review before, but after this I was compelled. Downloaded the Yelp app and here I am. Bottom line, this place is a ridiculous and pretentious joke! I'm a snob for good customer service. Being in the industry itself, I take pride in understanding my product to the fullest extent and educating my client about the honest pros and cons of everything. Lululemon has been in my closet for years now, as I was familiar with their line and bought many products through their store in Montreal, Canada, before they even were introduced to the States. I loved the ease and care of the product, and they were comfortable, made my booty look good. I could machine wash my black already-got-the-sportsbra-in-it clothes and they'd stay black and wouldn't shrink. That's makes me happy. There's nothing more disappointing than buying an eighty dollar top or hundred dollar pants, washing them once, and all of a sudden they're old looking, pilled up and grey. I toss that stuff in the garbage immediately, regardless of what sort of investment they were. Michaela, an adorable, knowledgeable team member of Lululemon greeted me as I came in the door, dressed ready to hit the studio for dance, and I was looking confused. I was staring at a sea of spandex and mesh not knowing where to go. I usually have to confused look though while lost in spandex seas, being taken over by the wave of Bay Club flashbacks and "I hope you can't see my panties in this" fears. She kindly guided me over to the sports bras (hey, they're big and I'm active, gotta tape those buggers down and outta the way) and began to go through all the styles with me, educating me. Finally, someone who knows their products, what an incredibly refreshing concept. She set me up in my own little room with my name on it (everyone has their name on the door, I'm not special, but she did put some stars on it too for me). I began to shove myself in tightly bound washable performance gear, and some of it didn't fit, and some of it did. Colors and styles began to pour over my dressing room door until I found the perfect fit. I ended up with the TaTa Tamer, partly because of the name (sorry, I just had to) and partly because it's one of the best damn sports bras I've ever put on. I can dance like I'm on fire with that thing on, and my fabulous assets won't budge an inch. That means my ass will be lookin' fly years down the road, no stretch marks and no sagging, perfect. I walked up to the counter, finding a fabulous super warm reversible hoodie with a really cute pattern that matches my fly ass Audigier kicks that I sometimes rock in the studio, and paid (my ridiculous, I might add, amount of money for a hoodie and bra) and walked out with my reusuable green bag plastered with funny little mantras on it. I was ready to hit the studio, ready to stay warm, and ready to fend off the plastic surgeon once again for years, due to Lululemon's wonderful "TaTa" technology. read more

Rude staff with an attitude. They cater to women sizes 0 to 2 if you're four six you'll feel fat. I would highly recommend crossing the freeway and going to Athleta or the staff is extremely helpful and warm. Being a self described lulu addict, I received incredibly disappointing service at Corte Madera Lululemon. I drove over from San Francisco when I realized that the tank top I wanted was in stock (and while on sale at Union St, wasn't available in my size). I was greeted by two lululemon educators (who briefly broke from their conversation to greet me), and then was left to wander the store (there was 1 woman in the fitting room), and was only asked about sizing by the woman manning the fitting rooms. When I found the tank I wanted, I approached the check out, and awkwardly stood there as 2 educators helped a guy look for items for his wife. Finally, when both returned (one to check him out, and one to check me out), My waiting was barely acknowledged. Then, when I inquired as to whether they'd consider price matching the union st sale price (Having taken a photo of the tag and always having received price matching between lululemon stores and online), I was shocked when I was told, in a rude tone "no, prices are set by the store and just because it's on sale at Union doesn't mean it's on sale here, and its policy". Umm, ok. Totally understand if that is policy, but it could've been framed as "oh I'm sorry, unfortunately, our policy doesn't allow for price matching between stores. Sorry you drove all the way up here for the tank." (Not to mention, I've always had price matching as long I had a photo/screenshot). Then, when I indicated I wasn't interested in paying the full price for the tank and only wanted the other sports bra (which was on sale), she rang it up as full price! When I asked "isn't this on sale?" She responded with "oh, it is, sorry, please press cancel", not even a "goodness, my bad!" It's disappointing to the lululemon brand that its educators and staff at this location provide such terrible service. Needless to say, it's unlikely I'll visit this location again. read more

The products here are great. My lulu-lemon work out parts are my favorite pants to wear. But, the customer service in this store is disgraceful. I understand if there is a strict return policy, but the girls in the store are unbelievably rude when you try to return something. They will check the back and then tell you that you can call another location on your own time. They could at least hand out the phone numbers but instead I was informed, "the other locations rarely answer their phone." Oh and also that they do not put anything on hold. The fact that they were so rude and unhelpful really makes me question this location. Maybe avoid this store, The other locations are a little more helpful. read more

I'm calling the home office after my experience today! I lost A LOT of weight on Weight Watchers and can finally fit in the size 12 at Lululemon. Well I may as well have been a size 28 the way they treated me!! One sales girl looked me up and down when I walked in and didn't even greet me!!! The customer behind me who was smaller received nearly a standing ovation for walking in the door! I decided to ignore that rudeness hoping that it was just that one person. As I looked around I realized: as a size 12 heading to a 10 and even though they sell that size, Lululemon does not want my business! Only the girl in the fitting room was nice to me. I wanted to buy a $128 sweater and a $68 top but you know what? They can keep it! After leaving the fitting room, I was again treated like NO ONE NO MATTER WHAT SIZE should be treated. Headed to the Gap and was treated perfectly so I purchased $300 in Gap Body items. Really Lululemon! Get real and treat people kindly no matter what the size. You lost a customer for life. read more

Easily some of the most unfriendly, snotty, stuck up, unwelcoming people working here. I was in here about a week ago, and the workers were only concerned with socializing with each other. Nobody asked me if I needed help. They have no concern for customers and they don't help, they just glare at people. They're flat out RUDE. It almost felt as if they were observing and then whispering to their other coworkers about customers. Very hostile and rude environment. To whoever the manager is: I think you should realize who your workers really are before you hire them, and I surely hope you do not engage and encourage their behavior. There ARE young people (that seems to be the age group you have hired) who are actually friendly and can do well in customer service. Not going back here anytime soon. I went in with my friend today to find a bra and some tank tops, which is hard to do if you're a little bustier than most. When she couldn't find anything that was fitting correctly, she politely asked an associate if there were any bigger sizes because nothing was working for her, to which the associate replied, "Sorry, but honestly none of our bras are engineered to fit and support your body type." It's athletic wear, not stuff meant for runway models. The least she could have done was just answer that there were no bigger sizes in that specific item or helped her find something that would accommodate her. I absolutely love Lulu's products and really enjoy shopping online especially since they have free shipping. I came to visit this store one day and was super dissapointed with the customer service. I was prepared to purchase a couple pairs of pants and shorts, but couldn't seem to engage any of the sales associates. I had tons of questions and felt like I was left on my own to figure them out by reading the tags on the items. I stopped in at this Lululemon after going for a beach day with my family at Muir Beach. I had a giftcard to use, and this one wasn't too far from where we were so I figured I would stop in to see what they had. I generally go to the Walnut Creek store since its closer to my house. This store is set up in the village and has a really great layout. Lots to choose from. Which is the only reason I give it 2 stars. From the second I walked in and was browsing around not one sales person/educator said hello to me nor asked me if they could help me find anything. Whats up with that? One girl made it a point to flock to another woman who I guess perhaps looked like would spend more money there. But even when she was done "helping" her she walked through the store and not once even acknowledged I was there or if I needed any help. There were a couple of other sales people on the floor and not one girl even made eye contact with me... at this point it was like am I invisible? Let me point out that I am a HUGE Lulu fan/addict in general. Have easily spent an obnoxious amount on their clothing to go the gym in the past year. So after this experience I find it hard to pay so much money at a store where the sales associates can and do ignore a "potential" customer for no apparent reason! I ended up leaving out with a voyage hoodie that I found super cute, all by my lonesome. But didn't end up spending any more than my giftcard because I'd rather spend my money at a store where I'm not blatantly ignored by the salespeople. I would suggest going here only if you don't mind being ignored, or have the "look" of a stay at home mom that is ready to lay down $1,000 for clothing. FYI I am a stay at home mom as well, but I guess I just don't have the "look" of a woman they want to help! read more

I have to agree with the other yelpers who found the sales staff at this store unhelpful and the policies to be bad. I bought some inspire tights that are really comfortable, but see through. They really could not have cared less and did not have a good alternative for tights that could be worn for yoga, spinning and running or if they do make them, the sales people could not suggest any. aside from the fact that i love all their clothes...I work in retail so everytime I go into a store I always notice the customer service. The lululemon in corte madera is my favorite store out of all the lululemon shops i have been to. they always greet you at the door and make you feel very welcome. i go to school in santa barbara and specifically don't shop at the lululemon there because the workers are very rude- don't make any eye contact- and only talk to themselves. corte madera's staff is so nice and let you know that they are there to help you out with sizes, show you sale items, and encourage you to come to their running club and yoga classes. this store deserves to be recognized for their awesome service. read more

I went in today to make a return that was going to be complicated as I wasn't exactly within the return parameters due to circumstances beyond my control. Lululemon could have been sticky about it and I would have understood as their policy is clear. Instead, Kelly, the associate who helped me, listened to what I had to say, saw that the item was current, understood my predicament and let me make the return. She was very kind, used common sense to make the decision and made it simple, and I was really grateful for that. Also Lululemon obviously let's their associates use common sense rather than be so rigid with rules. This customer was served. I shop lululemon often because I love the clothes and this was simply something extra that I really appreciated. Thank you to Kelly for making it a more pleasant holiday shopping day. read more

I have to say that my experience at this store was great! Three girls helped me there, and they were all wonderful! I had received a pair of lulu's as a gift almost 2 years ago, and they let me exchange them, despite their 2 week return/exchange policy. Granted I never wore the pants before, had all the tags, and receipt, but still, I thought that was awesome! Their staff said that they wanted to make sure that I had a nice new pair of lulu's that I liked. They helped me find a couple of pairs that I liked, and they also helped me find a gift (a jacket) for someone. I told them that I wasn't sure what size jacket my niece wanted, but that I would be giving it to her in a couple weeks. They even wrote on the receipt that she could exchange it until 10/10, which is over 2 weeks past the purchase date! Thus, not only do I love all my purchases, but I loved all the gals at the store that helped me! I live in SF, and I'm almost tempted to drive out to this store again for my next purchase vs. going to a local lululemon in SF (although I'm sure they are great too!) The sales associate Megan who was folding pants was giving me side eye when I was looking through the pants to see which ones I like. When she approached me her tone of voice was very rude and it made me very uncomfortable to even look at products coz if u don't put away the clothes properly she gave me stinky look. I have bought lots of clothes from lulu lemon but after this experience I don't want to go there. Athleta has just same products as they do and better customer service. I've been a loyal customer for years, all my workout clothes are lulu's and most of their jackets I do have like radiant, scuba hoodie, in flux, studio, define, fleece out, fluffed up.. Name it I have almost all of it. Product is great like what you expect from lululemon, but customer service are not very good. Everytime I shop at the store in Corte Madera, they won't even look at you, greet you or ask you if you need help. They'll just walk away and don't care. If you asked them if they have the item in particular size or color they will just answer you that whatever we have on the floor is what we have in stock. Are you kidding me? You can double check in the back and make sure if you guys have it or not. Lazy ass! If your not happy with your job go find another one. Hmm... I am not sure what to make of this store. I had a different experience at this store than a lot of the reviewers. To me the store felt more like I was inside a A&F store with the loud and jumpy music, the sales people who tried to be nice but ended up crowding my space just a bit too much so I could not think. And some of them had that faint but unmistakable air of pretentiousness. I felt like they were trying to be groovy and it just irritated me. They were nice to me, I don't mean to imply otherwise; however I think that by going with this "we are cool and you can be too if you join us" approach the store is missing out on A TON of business from older women in Marin who can more easily afford the $100 for a pair of pants; but really really don't want the attitude. We are comfortable in our skin but clearly don't have 20 or 30 something bodies and therefore we need to be patient and thorough before we find a pair of skinny yoga or pilates pants that we look good in! I have recently started doing Pilates in my late 40's; and in the course of the last 4 months I have seen many women pass through the classes and not one of them has an outfit I would want to wear (including my own) ; but after visiting Lulu I am not sure if any of these fine ladies would feel comfortable in the store, and I would only recommend a visit with a huge caveat. And again, all of the sales people were very nice. It just seemed as if there were getting instructions on how to behave from someone behind the mirror and it was unsettling. There was one woman (I think she was the Manager) who did seem calmer than the others, did not try to rush me and was able to talk about the different styles; so maybe others can take their cue from her or from the Athleta store in Strawberry Village. Perhaps I am just being a stick in the mud and I am not their target market. And at the end of the day I am happy with the pair of pants I found; but just saying I was surprised to find this sort of approach deep in the heart of Marin. Buyer beware, their return policy is terrible. All items must be returned within 14 days. I went in to return and exchange something a few days after the 14 day mark and was denied! Not amendable at all. I wasn't seeking a cash refund and was going to purchase other merchandise. The item I was returning they still carried so should have been simple to do! Very frustrating.
