I've been into their store a few times now, and today I left with a pair of cropped pants that I got on sale for a "more reasonable" price than a lot of their other stuff (although, granted, I appreciate the quality and know I'll cave in to their non-sale items one day). Their selection is consistently great, I see a ton of stuff I want every time I go in. Had no issues with the service either - walked right up to the counter (Saturday mid-afternoon), and the girl was really friendly. Dig the cute reusable bag they give you too. I have always loved Lululemon so has my 15 year old daughter and my husband but when it comes to this my youngest daughter who's 9 she's always trying on clothes that don't fit her. For example last week was my 15 year old daughters birthday and we went to Lululemon but when we went in all the clothes in size 0 did not fit her. This has happened several times and my oldest in an 0 to 2 so I just don't get it! If Lululemon made clothes for kids I'd buy them for my youngest daughter just like id by Lululemon for my oldest daughter. I am really impressed with this one! First, I fell in love with the Burlingame one, then the University Ave one, now THIS ONE! this lululemon has the MOST sizes, MOST loot! On Tues I ordered a "StowNGo" jacket off lululemon.com, and I actually saw a BUNCH of the jackets at this one! ( I didn't see a single one at the others). lululemon was one of the first companies that made it totally acceptable to pay $90 for yoga pants, or $80 for a yoga mat. High-end workout gear for the mass market. High-end also means higher quality (for the most part), and since they've been around for a while lululemon is definitely doing something right. I personally like their stuff, although I've had things I had to return because of the quality. The selection at this Marina outpost is decent, I usually find something for myself in the guy's section. Service is fast, chatty, and friendly. read more

Shopping here was a depressing experience for me, although it's a lovely little athletic gear store.. I went in looking for a sports bra. I buy lots of bras, all of which I usually destroy within a month. My boingos just wear the Lycra out of them in no time flat. It doesn't help that I'm always jumping around like a 5 year old ADHD kid every time I see a cupcake or a Yoo Hoo. My doctor says I can't have sugar, caffeine, or any sort of stimulant. I say: SECOND OPINION! I tried on several of their cute, colorful, hip tops and even some of their stretchy pants. I tortured those pants. They were bursting at the seams, begging for release. There's simply nothing that will hold my plentiful bounty with comfort, I guess. Me in one of the sport tops looked like someone had squeezed a flesh colored Nerf ball through a vacuum tube. I looked at the sales girl with a wince and asked, "Are this children's sizes?" She didn't laugh, and neither did I. A little skinny cadaverous featherweight in the corner DID laugh, however. I glared at her. "I wouldn't laugh if I was you, Ms. Ritchie. I may eat you." I ended up buying a Champion Mega No-Jiggler, with extra support. I walked out with it on, and jumped down the street towards the closest 24 Hour Fitness... ...If I can't be a skinny bitch, I might as well eat them. They ARE low-fat, after all. I never thought I'd say this, but I bought something from lululemon yesterday. Okay, more than just something. 2 things. And then I came home and ordered 4 more things online. OMG WHAT'S GOTTEN INTO ME?! I used to vow that I'd never step foot into this store. Ever. It's an overpriced, overly-yuppie place for pretentious skinny people. Actually, I still think it is, and I'll never be one of "those" skinny people walking around in yoga pants, but at least I now think that the expensive price tag just might be worth it. I'm having conflicting emotions on how many stars to give this place. If you're a skinny girl, you'd love it. 5 stars all the way. If you're a slightly curvier girl with a booty, you may think that they're not that great. I mean, who wants to go into a place where they have to buy something that's a SIZE 8 and skin tight?! Having said that, I'm officially in love with their running shorts. I've been training for a marathon and while my $10 Target and Old Navy shorts suffice for a shorter run, I was looking for something more in-tune with my body, and lululemon was kind of my last resort. I was in love with their speed short and ultra short, so I picked up a few in store and online. They fit my bottom like a glove, and they were oh-so-comfy. But their tops, not so much. The chest portion was too big, while the bottom part stretched to cover my hips and tummy area (and I'm not by any means considered a "big girl"). Their sizes for tops also seem to be inconsistent, as one style was way too tight and another in the same size was waaaay too big. I used to be a Lululemon hater. I thought, why would I ever need to spend close to $100 for a pair of pants to work out in?? Ridiculous. It all changed the day my friend Jen convinced me that my non-existent butt would look amazing in a pair of Lululemon pants. She dragged me in here and I fell in love. Well. Now I'm a gal with 2 gym memberships so you can imagine I have quite a bit of exercise apparel. After going through most brands, my loyalty to Lulu remains. Size and fit are great for me, as other brands have run too big. Everything remains in place. Ladies - boogie shorts are the best thing ever to wear in yoga. They don't ride up and you don't get sweaty wedgies. You know what I'm talking about! Staff has always always been nice and more than willing to help at this location. Yes, people complain that parking is tricky in the area. Find non metered parking on Vallejo and WALK! Make a day of it. Hit up Lulu, go across the street and grab some juice at Juice Shop (pineapple chia!) browse Sephora, nosh on a burger at Roam (so much better than Umami. Only tools go to Umami stop eating there!) who knows. Stop being so lazy. You're shopping for fitness apparel so what harm is walking a couple extra blocks?!?? I love this little store and their mission statement. I cannot say the same for Lululemon as a whole, but the staff at this locale, especially the manager, is a wonderful human being,. I love the designs too. What girl, or guy, wouldn't want to look stylish whilst sweating? Style improves your prana. The thing is, this store will only allow you to shop here if you're relatively healthy...and by healthy, I mean skinny. I had an opportunity to work at this store and almost took the job because I seemed to jive with the people. Who wouldn't want to wear flip flops and stretchy pants all day? The thing is...I'd have to wear the clothes and dude, I didn't think I could fit into their Large. I am, by no means, the size of a water buffalo, but this sure made me feel like one. I can hold my own in a 2 hour yoga class and do 45 minutes of cardio without fainting. But because I'm not a certain body type, I cannot shop here and I ultimately made the decision to not work here. This stuff has a strange, almost cult-like following. And I think I'm getting sucked into its vortex. I've been slowly shedding my dependence on underwire bras and jeans for yoga/running pants and sports tops (with built in bras). These clothes compliment my shape without all of the squeezing and lifting. And when I'm actually working out in them, I don't feel soggy and gross after a good sweat. I'm just kinda glowing and there aren't any big 'ol wet spots on my clothes. The tops (not the sports bras) run a bit small, so you might have to go up a size. I tried on my usual size and almost had to flag down the sales woman to help peel me out. Consider yourself warned. Best of all, I feel like I could work out a bit longer just because I've got comfortable work out clothes on. Or better yet, that I should go work out, even though I hadn't planned to, because I'm already dressed for it. And let me just top that one...I look GOOD in these clothes. Well, I was influenced by my partner in crime but that's another story. The storefront is unique as only San Francisco would have it, resembling a house decked out in bright pastels of color. The signature lululemon insignia hanging above the doorway. The staff is knowledgeable and sincerely willing to help. So I was downtown shopping with a friend on a cold San Francisco Summer day and she wanted to stop in Lululemon. I'd never even heard of the brand but had no agenda that day so we headed in. I had Sophie, my chihuahua, with me... so the female staff swooned as usual (this was not my reason for getting a chihuahua but I must say it has worked in my favor) and were super friendly and helpful the entire time. Sophie got to roam around the store and make new friends and I ended up trying on a hooded sweatshirt. About 30 mins later one of the employees politely asked if I wanted them to keep the sweat shirt at the register at which time I told them I was cold and intended on wearing the sweater home. You can now find me in this sweater quite often. It is by far the most comfortable hoodie ever... several girls have attempted to steal it from me after I've loaned it to them and i even get compliments from coat room girls about this hoodie all the time. read more

She also helped me figure out my right size. I ended up walking away with the In Movement leggings which have super soft fabric but still hold me in. I'm so bored with all my drab workout clothes, so I shopped at Lululemon today with a friend in an effort to liven up my boot camp/hiking/climbing wardrobe. They have really cute tops and jackets in a variety of colors, and it seems like the quality is good (now let's see if it holds up). The staff is very helpful, and they'll come up to you and explain the differences between the various styles before you even have to ask. All in all, I was pretty happy with my first shopping experience here, and I'll definitely be going back. Update 10/12/06 - My new top was so comfy to work out in, I went back and bought another one! Guess I'm an addict now. Update 3/22/07 - My tops still look like new, after many, many wearings & washings. Maybe I should go back and buy some more. I have to admit, I have always avoided this place like the plague. To me, it represents a lot of things that annoy me about the yoga scene - trendiness, blatant capitalism ill-disguised by cutesy, nouveau spiritual ad messaging like "do something that scares you every day", and the kinds of people who roughly push you out of their way as they vie for a better spot in the yoga studio before class. (These people are inevitably wearing matching outfits from Lululemon, the same way the total a$#hole who cuts you off in traffic and then gives you the finger is inevitably driving a BMW.) It took a friend with a broken ankle to get me to darken the door of this store. Anne took a spill at Tahoe last weekend and she needed some pants that are a)cute and b)loose enough to fit over a cast. I think, if you break your ankle on Valentine's Day, you are entitled to spend a ridiculous amount of money on some sweat pants. Enter Lululemon. While I still want to vomit when I read their ad copy, and still wonder how they reconcile their gross materialism ($100 for yoga pants? Really?) with their yoga "philosophy", I have to admit that the store was really nice. It's a well organized and pleasant space, and their clothes are well made, high quality goods. Moreover, the salespeople were incredibly nice and helpful, especially to my friend who was lurching around half-conscious on crutches and morphine. Although I enjoy shopping and fashion a great deal, I have never been much of a label whore or brand loyalist; that is until I discovered Lululemon. I've admired the look of lululemon since moving to SF. I noticed the little loopy logo on every girl looking too cute and stylish to be working out in the gym or running along Marina Blvd. I also actively avoided this store, vowing to never step foot inside to avoid a potential addiction and subsequent major damage to credit card. I finally gave in after moving to the neighborhood and discovered bliss inside. The sales girls are all very knowledgeable, friendly and decked out in Lululemon gear. The sales girls, in every shape and body type, all look fab in the gear. I tried on a gazillion running jackets, one tank top and some pants and walked out of the store with several items. Honestly, I have not felt a shopping rush like this since the days of sample sale shopping in NYC. I actually found ways to wear one running jacket all over the place, and don't even wear it to work out- it just looks that good. The other one- is the BEST running jacket I have ever worn. It's a very recent style, and I wished I would have kept the tags so i could recommend it here. It's black (and comes in white) and has the lulumon log in Mesh on the back, and mesh up the entire under arm area. Not only is it perfect for keeping me warm and cool at the same time on long and short runs, morning and night, fog, no fog, but I can wear it several times without having to wash it because it doesn't smell hideous after one run like my other jackets. I absolutely love Lululemon Athletica. The people who work here are nice, the clothes and gear are wonderful, and the company philosophy is inspired. The only downside is the price... yes, it is expensive. But after years of buying workout clothes I have decided Lululemon is actually worth the hefty price tag... So I used to be in LOVE with these Hard Tail yoga pants: very soft, not too thick, fold over waist, slight flare, flattering cut... they were my favorites. And they were around $90 a pair. I thought, fine, I'll pay that for the best pants ever. And I paid $90... about 7 times. Because the little thing they don't list on the tag is that unless your thighs have a 2 inch gap between them, the seam will inevitably bust between your legs.... all 7 times. Now, understand me people. I have terrific thighs... they may not be Kate Moss, but in no way should my pants be bursting if I am buying and wearing the right size. My thighs were not the problem; the quality of those pants was the problem. Enter Lululemon pants... I've had about 5 pairs of pants from Lululemon, one pair in particular that carried me through a few rough months of weight gain. I think I wore those about 5 times a week at one point in my life and never ONCE did the seam even threaten to blow. I realized then that Lululemon was expensive because the clothes are very well made. Now the fat pants are put away (thank, God), but they are still intact and so are all my other clothes from Lululemon. Trust me... these are clothes that will work for you while you're working out. Or laying at home on the couch... no judgment. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love lululemon clothes. They are cute, functional and comfortable. They are expensive, but last forever. So the two stars is not for the the clothes it's for the experience at this particular location. This store is long, very long and narrow. The layout of this store is such that almost everyone in the store can see you as soon as you walk in the door. Despite this, no one greeted us. There were a few people in the store who were looking at clothes, as were we and not one employee approached us to ask for help or to educate us on the product. In fact, we walked in the back toward the pant wall, when finally we saw all the employees standing near the fit rooms talking. Actually, I believe there was a bit of drama going on, because one girl was mad at the other girl for buying the jacket she wanted...I couldn't tell if they were really arguing or just being playful with each other, but either way, it was a bad representation of lululemon. The girl stationed at the pant wall table was the only person to acknowledge our presence and actually educate us. I had every intention on buying some workout clothes that day, but didn't want to give this lululemon my business. I've had great experiences at other lululemons. This staff seemed arrogant and uninterested in the people who's purchases were going to give them commission. Thank you ladies of Yelp! Feeling a little sick of the usual suspects for running gear I hopped on yelp and found this place. And, it rocks! The gear is so high quality, functional and cute! I wear my running gear into the ground so investing in pieces which won't disintegrate after a couple of washes is important. This place has it. The tank tops might be my favorite running tops ever. Note: The cups in the tank tops are removable! I almost missed out on buying my new favorite workout tops because I though they were sewn in. Thank goodness the sales people are amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. Even though I wouldn't run in them, I of course had to get the groove pants after all the rave reviews. Is it meta to be reviewing something that is currently on my person? I hope not because they are so comfy and good looking that I am never taking them off. My SO SAD experience at Lululemon has turned into SO GLAD! I went back on a whim last weekend after my sad experience of not being able to try out a yoga mat I thought I may have liked, and also not being able to return it if I hated it. I asked if I could try the Supernatural mat. The salesperson told me they didn't have any on the floor... BUT! that she would run upstairs right away to get one I could try out! I expressed my surprise and delight, and she told me that some review was passed around management and to all of the stores! I told her it might have been mine... Anyway, I bought the travel version of the Supernatural. I am super pleased. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Previous review: I really wanted to buy that sticky yoga mat. It looked so great. BUT - If I didn't like it, I couldn't return it. And I also couldn't try it out in the store before buying. Lululemon management - it would really help us customers if we could try out all of the mats before we buy! I'm sure it would have been great and I totally would have bought it. But I'm kind of risk averse. What if it couldn't stand up against my sweaty yoga palms? Then I would have been $42 shit out of luck. This staff is HANDS DOWN fantastic! I had to come in and get all new workout clothes after a pretty signifigant weight loss and they were so sweet, so helpful and were so supportive of my new bod. I walked out with all new good pieces and cant wait to try Wed night yoga at the store! Also, I had NO IDEA about the free alterations for the life of the garment! My motivating factor for making more money is Lululemon. I love it all and I want it all. I'll be a happy woman once I have a wardrobe full of Lululemon clothing. Outside of the office I live in my gym clothes, so they have to be the best and most comfortable, not to mention sexy! I only have a few items from this awesome store, but soon I'll have it all. Their products are pricey and they rarely have good sales. Sometimes it is a little disappointing. They make it up by there great customer service. read more
