I exercise regularly, so I thought I would get a pair and keep them strictly for the gym. Within minutes of returning home I clipped the tags, threw away that silly little inspirational bag, and strutted myself to the market in a sweatshirt and the booty pants. In a city where both working out is prevalent and looking like you are working out is so key, Lulu is an essential wardrobe staple. Before you gag over the fact that workout pants (that you are just going to sweat in) are $90, I must tell you that you should buy them for these reasons: -they make your ass look great (need I go on?) -they do hemming for free -most pants are reversable -the are so comfy -- they'll easily become a wardrobe staple The sports bras are great, too. Some even give you cleaveage. Everything is flattering and designed with functionality -- the zippers all have hair rubberbands on them, most things have ipod holders, keys, gym cards, etc. The black stuff doesn't fade and the colorful stuff is bright and fun. They do have an odd return policy -- only credit with a return w/in 14 days and all sales are final. Both of these make it hard to buy gifts here...unless you buy it the day before you give it to them and tell them they have 13 days to decide if they like it. read more

So I finally justified splurging on yoga pants as a reward to myself for working out more often. I figured my cheapo leggings weren't going to last any longer, and at any moment, they'd burst at the seams while doing yoga, and the innocent "downward facing dog" would inadvertently turn into some kind of stripper show. Although it is located on the pretentious Union Street, the staff is super helpful and friendly. They also offer free alterations which I took advantage of, being 5'1. Considering that you can really just grab a pair of leggings at any store for $20, Lululemon was probably about 4x that price. However, you are getting a much higher quality pant that will withstand strenuous workouts and strange contortionist poses. Plus, it's super comfy and flattering! Now I don't have to be paranoid that my yoga moves don't turn into a strip show...............unless I wanted it to. read more

I love Lululemon. I really wish I could say that I can find more flattering work out pants somewhere else, but so far I can't. And that's too bad, because this place is expensive and I never see much of a sale going on ever. Work out pants are around $80 to over $100. Still, I have bought many pairs over the last few years I've lived here. They will hem your pants for free, but once I bought about 4 pair at one time, and the salesgirl convinced me that I didn't need them all hemmed. (I totally did. I don't want to drag my $89 pants all over the city when I walk around, but whatever.) I don't even wear them for yoga- I wear them for weight training and cardio. They don't get all sweaty when you work out hard for a long time. If you get a top, you really need to try them on. A salesgirl told me they run small, and she was right. They run very very small, if they haven't made any changes in the last year since I bought a top. Oh yeah, the jackets are quite slimming and some have great little "secret" pockets all over the place. 5 stars for the actual merchandise being awesome, but one star off for making me feel poor when I realize I can only buy stuff there like once a year. The Educators were all helpful without being pushy which I always appreciate while shopping. THANK YOU Lulu for keeping me dedicated to my workout regimen! The fit & feel is AMAZING and it keeps me motivated to work out to make sure I fit my Lulu work out 'drobe. Good-bye Nike, HELLO Lulu! This is a difficult review to write since I have always been a Lulu fan, but after several recent visits to the Cow Hollow/SF location I have come to the bewildering conclusion that Lululemon cares very little about eroding their customer base. I am a fit 60 year old female who wears a size 2 top which is nearly nonexistent at this store. What's worse is the rudeness with which the sales associate related this information. I was told that Lulu had nothing in size 2 other than a couple of cotton t-shirts. No other help was offered other than pointing me to the back of the store where these shirts were displayed. Seriously, the customer service in this store is nothing less than appalling. The sales associates are snooty, condescending and sarcastic. Despite a friendly greeting at the door, there was very little offered in the way of help. Shame on you Lululemon! Was it my age? Sweaty Betty here I come. read more

I love my lululemons..this store in the marina is especially cute. the blue and yellow paint (go cal!) kind of bring a little bit of charm and tackiness. however you see the world. The workers are all really nice, I was looking for something specific and although by the time I perused the store, I couldn't find it and knew that they didn't have it... they still made a valiant effort to look for it. I hate that when I go to Lululemon, I want and see a need for everything... okay maybe not in all of the colors (they can err on the side of highlighter bright) but the fit and the comfort and the style all make me want moremoremore... sigh... must stop buying. read more

I live in Cow Hollow, am a regular at The Dailey Method and Equinox, and over the past year have been either training for a triathlon or marathon at any give point in time. Lululemon isn't just a luxury investment... it's necessary! If you workout on the regular you've likely discovered cotton is a poor choice. Or as a friend once advised, "cotton is rotton." Enter Luon, one of the most useful workout materials invented. Tanks, pants, shorts, long sleeves... don't get exclusively caught up on the popular "groove pant" because all the clothes are all fantastic. They also have really great gym bags, yoga accessories, hoodies and loungewear. I was first turned on to the brand years ago when my friend Tracy B from Canada (Lulu's HQ) raved about their groove pants and hoodies. Fast forward a few years and this is without doubt the biggest staple in my wardrobe. I literally do loads of laundry just for my luon clothes. Make sure when you wash to keep towels and any fabric softeners separate to protect the fabric. Stopped by today because I heard they have a new cycling short with padding- music to my ears since bike shorts are less than attractive (the tan lines I've developed from the longer shorts are disgusting). They could use a little work on the padding (not meant for those 3-4 hour rides in Marin) and are by no means the best quality bike shorts I've seen- but they're definitely worth it for either spin class at the gym or shorter outdoor rides. This review is more for the actual product than the store because i LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE lululemons. I bought my first pair six years ago when they were only in Canada. I still wear those pants today and they still hug my butt like the first day i bought them. I believe that lulu's can make ANYONE have an incredible ass. I try to wear them at every possible moment because they are the most comfortable pants in the world. I will say, that the material they use now balls up, which my first pair never does. It's a bit annoying. I also have two of their headbands which don't compare to the greatness that is their pants. The headbands slip, even the ones with the non-slip band inside, they end up just pulling your hair. But the pants....ohhhhh the pants. Worth every dollar you'll spend. If you're wondering if they are worth the cost, they ARE. Make sure you take care of them, only wash with other lulu's and always hang dry. For the girls, you'll get that "smell" that we all know so well, ick, just make sure to wash them in warm water to get it out. The tag says cold, but you'll be fine washing them in warm, trust me. $100 for a basic pair of yoga pant is slightly stiff for me... but heck, I am worth it. 5 stars for the butt-hugging, sexy yet comfortable pants alone. But what really bugs me about this store is that most of the sales girls are so chatty and gossipy - I really don'[t need to hear them talking smack about another girl's body in any negative way. This is perhaps probably the nicest staffed Lululemon I've ever been to in the Bay Area. Not only does it have a cute little painted store front; but also a cozy, not busy store in the inside as well. It's not fully stocked with all the sizes as most Lululemons are; but at least they had the running tights i wanted. I am obsessed with Lululemon since I became a Bar Method addict. Now that i started the joy of running; i feel like i run much longer if i'm wearing my Lulus. I mean.. being all cute and stylish while you're dripping sweat at the gym doesn't hurt one bit... and what's this rumor that Lulu doesn't cater to fat people? Uhmmmm maybe their sizes run smaller than usual... but i mean... i guess it depends on how fat you are, right? Not all brands have an extensive array of sizes. read more

Absolutely wonderful selection of workout pants, t's, tank tops and jackets. Not a big fan of their mat selection, but oh well, I already own a mat anyways. Pricey to say the least but you are paying for very well made and durable sports wear. Not only will these clothes last you forever, you'll practically end up living in them since they are so comfortable and flattering. This store has the largest selection when compared to the location in union square, burlingame, and palo alto. I do not live in the marina, and do not look like a marina girl, and every time I have shopped in this store the sales staff have been friendly and helpful. Items on sale are not always in the sales section, just in the store in the appropriate location mixed in amongst the full priced merchandise. This can lead to an unexpected pleasant surprise when shopping, but can also be frustrating if you are just dropping in to check out merchandise on sale. Although I have been to zero organized runs or yoga classes, I think its great that they have them. I have to take off a star because every single time I have shopped in here, the dressing rooms are covered in dust and my naked feet pick up the dust and its annoying and gross. But lulu bottoms are worth getting dusty feet to try on since they have the wide tab to prevent muffin top, make my butt look nice, and they are seriously the nicest material in athletic bottoms I have tried on in terms of both feeling great and wicking away sweat. Yes, its expensive, but my wonder under crops from 3 years ago still look and feel brand new so its def worth the extra $$$ since this stuff lasts. read more

This location is terrible. A few years ago, the girls who worked here were nice and not pushy and the customer service was good. It has totally gone downhill. I bought a ton of Christmas gifts here and the security tags were left on all of them. The worst part is that the girls I dealt with were really rude and condescending. There is one big tall woman who works there who is a complete a-hole. I had some questions about a return and the first girl at the register couldn't answer my question, she turned to big tall mean woman and asked her, and without looking at either of us, she said impatiently, "read her the bottom of the receipt for our return policy" and walked off. Thanks, I can read. And it didn't answer my question, which is why I was asking you. I just bought several overpriced pants but they will be my last. So one of my best friends has moved away from Cow Hollow to Tahoe and being she's a lulu freak asked me kindly could I go down and buy her a top and she'll pay me back later. Of course I will, that's what mates are for right? I told her that Ill call and find out if they have in stock before heading over there. I hate going somewhere especially for one item when they may not even have it. So I start calling, and calling, and calling. GEEZ! enough already with the bloody phone are you serious? I call my mate and explain that Ive tried calling for about 3 hours with no luck. I even emailed the store with my inquiry with my contact details. I head down there anyway hoping that they A) have the item and B) have a great explanation again as to why the phone is still not working. I walk in and purchase the item and then mention, "You know Ive been calling all morning to see if you had this in stock and the phone was busy for the last 3-4 hours, and the same has happened to me before, are your phones working?" I'm obsessed. Officially. Yes Lulu is expensive but their stuff is exercise heaven. Super cute, but most importantly super practical. I run regularly and love their Speed shorts - short but not too short, they don't ride up, they have built in underwear so creeps can't see up them if you do weights at the gym and have a fab pocket for your keys at the back. Their Wunder Under leggings make your bum look awesome and are high enough on the waist so they don't give you the dreaded muffin top. Nice that they're lined too so they're not TMI the way some leggings can be and so comfy for running, rock climbing, vegging out, whatever. I also found the cutest top on sale here for $19 (it pays to keep your eyes peeled for hidden sale treasures) and a bag that fits my workout gear and my laptop. Ah I spend way too much here but if you exercise regularly I couldn't recommend any workout gear more highly. It lasts really well too - I went climbing with a friend yesterday who was wearing some cute Lulu crops and she said they were 3 years old, but they still looked fab. I have always found the staff to be really friendly here too, probably more helpful here than the Grant Ave store. I love both though! read more

The people here are quite friendly and quite ready to make you a fit and fabulous person just like them. I've been a loyal fan of Lululemon even before it become the uber popular for the awesomely fit 'cause I'm not fit. Not at all. I do feel like I have a goal to work with when I walk in here as the sizes are honest and the mirrors here do not lie. I received my third hoodie for my birthday and I appreciate look at that size 4 tag and knowing that yes I'm a little older and I'm a little wider. But this new hoodie makes my boobs squish up to the sky! Maybe I'm not as thin as I once was and the boob squishing in that hoodie is making it clear and quite obvious. Dam you Lululemon..I'm going to keep that damn thing and use it as a "motivation hoodie." Besides, it's impolite to return a birthday present. Thank you. read more

Ok...I am not a stepford wife...at least not yet. I go to bar method, and all the method drones are wearing lululemon like a storm trooper uniform. No nike, no adidas, no funky Om Girl yoga gear....it's all about lululemon. So finally after doing the method for a month...I'm like...OK...I give in...lets see what all the fuss is about.... I hike up to Lululemon on Union St. and a very nice girl w/ red hair starts telling me about all the fabrics and styles of their groovy tops and bottoms. I select a few things and HOLY CRAP....not only does my ass look amazing in the pants, the tops fit really well...and I look borderline HOT. I'm sold! I bought it all, and they give you this black and red sustainable bag which is perfect for schelpping my purse, DS lite, iPod, magazines and pretzels on the plane (I travel a lot, and prefer a super lightweight bag to carry junk for the flight) So now I am officially a "lululemon girl" whose getting hotter and hotter workout by workout. read more

Okay...Lululemon is so easy to make fun of, but you can't deny that it's great. Genius in fact. The reason I say it's easy to make fun of is because, on any given day in the Marina, you will see a woman on every block wearing the signature workout pant---maybe one of the tops---but always the pant. It's eco-friendly, it's incredibly expensive, but the quality is great and the design of every yoga or gym outfit is adorable. Dare I say they are actually sexy? Lululemon is a great brand and the Marina store epitomizes the Lululemon client. Just look at all the bubbly blondes trying on $100 yoga pants and you'll know what I mean. Vino with Yoga rocks! It doesn't get any better, really. I work hard for my buns, but gee...Lulu makes them look million dollars. Lulu is the new definition of sexy. Yet comfortable and functional. Originally designed for Yoga, you can't feel the seam lines at all, and the fabric cuddles your body with such love. My butt and legs sweat a lot during my kick-ass kickboxing classes, and I noticed that whenever I'm behind on laundry and had to wear workout clothes that are not lulu, I get breakouts on my butt. And because the fabric is so breathable that even though the pants are soaked with sweat, there's no big shadow on my butt like regular workout pants...you know what I'm talking about. Sizes run small, very very small. I'm a size 0-2 normally, but I'm a size 4-6 for Lulu tops. It's just about time for people in this country to realize...damn we are fat here! Stop self-deceiving!! The people here are so friendly and helpful. They offer free hemming, which is great because I have short torso and I usually need to have my tops shortened a bit. The non-slip hairband doesn't work for me, when my hair get wet from the sweat, the hairband gets slippery. I love the simple one that's just the fabric only. I came into this store for the first time yesterday. I have always heard so much about it but have never personally tried it. Customer Service: When I first walked in one of the girls was dancing around the store having fun, ok it creates a fun environment. But she never once said hi, welcome, or asked if I needed help. Pretty sure she was just in her own world. After rifling through jackets for 5 minutes trying to find a size in the mess someone came over to ask what I was looking for. Of course the size I wanted was not on that table, so naturally I asked if they might have more in the back. She stated what was on the table is what they had......that's a pretty small table, guess they don't have too many jackets. Too bad they don't keep more sizes in the store. I wanted to try a few things on to get a feel for the brand. The only thing I liked was their scuba hoodie which I ended up getting. But all of their other products just don't compare to my Lorna Jane. Cleanliness: I have seen Ross stores that are more organized then this store. This place was a mess. You think for being really pricey they would have people constantly cleaning the tables up and folding the clothes. This store felt very unorganized. Maybe it was really busy or something, but if an associate has time to dance, she has time to clean. That's just how I feel. Product: I bought a scuba hoodie that was very cozy and warm. I have only warn it once so far so I don't have much to say about it. Lets hope it holds up for the $108 price tag. Overall: I like their jackets, but that seems to be about it. I would not go running in their clothes, but to be fair this store mainly seems yoga based so I just don't think it is the right brand for me. read more

I love, love, love this store! I should have been the first to review it since I was there the day this store opened last year. There clothes are great and they are for more than just yoga.... I wear them everywhere and especially rowing. When I needed a waterproof thin layer jacket to keep the salt water off me - yep they had that too! These clothes are virtually indistructable. I wear them several times a week and wash them just about as much and they still look new. The fabric is great for keeping you warm even when you are soaked in sweat or even ocean water. I have to keep my mind and wallet in check everytime I walk by so I don't loose it and buy the whole freakin' store!!! If you are looking for great workout clothes that will last forever go to this store! Hmmmm...... Maybe I should buy some stock in this company or at least the fabric... read more

Basically, here's the deal: I have all of one pair of pants, one shirt, and two sports bras that are on my regular "gym clothes" circuit, and that just ain't enough! I think I finally found another staple to add to the workout wardrobe, though, today at Lululemon. They have nice-looking, quality pieces that seem like they might really last! I only tried on yoga pants, but I saw a lot of hoodies, sports bras, shorts, and other types of lounge wear that were pleasing to the eye. The sales people were helpful and friendly in that non-invasive way. What I found most helpful, perhaps, was actually the way they had all their different styles of yoga pants merchandised in the back: shelves dividing the pants by size, with a mannequin on top of each column wearing that style of pant, which gave a good idea of how each style might fit me, without even having to try them on. Lastly, they do complimentary hemming as well, which is a good thing since a lot of the pants seem to run long. This is always a nice service that businesses should be recognized for! read more

I really like the product offering at this friendly store in Cow Hollow. The clothes are functional and stylish. Best of all the color schemes aren't neon and there is not a stitch of spandex in sight. They do a great job of garbing every svelte blonde this side of Pac Heights and they also make alterations in cut and style for the not-so-svelte (there's hem help for vertically challenged folks too). Only thing is...please don't ask me 12 times if I need help when I'm just browsing and I already told you that. I get the whole "educate-the- customer-on-what-we-do" thing but there's a fine line between education and being a bit overwhelming. read more

Seriously, why do people shop anywhere else for their gym clothes? The ONLY reason is because you either haven't discovered the greatness that is Lululemon or you cannot afford it. The stuff is expensive. Capris are $79. Yes, I know, that's pretty steep but I must say the clothes are very durable and did I say ABSOLUTELY flattering?! I mean I don't have a JLo but I do in those pants...And I love it!!! The clothes are super comfy too. LOVE Lululemon wear! I was introduced to this brand from a friend a few years back when i started practicing yoga in SF. I was originally shocked at how expensive it was for pants ($80), WOW. I did manage to get a capris for less, when lulu had a sale, $50 instead of $80. As i used the capris, i really grew to appreciate the quality of the pants and the ability to wick away moisture. 2.5 years later, I own 6 pants, 6 tops, 3 jackets and various headbands and bags from lulu. This particular location has a good selection of items and friendly/helpful staff. Yes, there is still sticker shock when i look at the price on the tags but i know i'm getting a good quality item. So, i just BREATHE DEEPLY and go ahead & purchase. read more

Great cuts, colors, great store layout to find clothing, and they have these SWEET headbands that really keep your hair up and don't lose shape.
