Love the shoes, not the way this store does business. In short, I found a pair of Cube sneakers on the sale rack and had the sales rep order them from another store because they did not have my size. She charged me over $850. When I questioned her about the $550 price on the pair on the sales rack, she told me a customer must have moved them onto the sale rack. She was far from convincing in her explanation and it seemed implausible a customer would also alter the price tag. I returned later after thinking about what she had done and also finding the same shoes on the Bloomingdale's website on sale for $550. I had the manager reverse the charges and cancel the sale. read more

So as my best friend and I realized that we are getting older, it was time for us to purchase "grown-up" belts (no more $5 ribbon belts on ebay or clearance belts from Gap lol). On a trip up north, we bit the bullet and headed straight to the Ferragamo store. Selection was great (men's is 2nd floor) and the lady helping us was super nice (I feel bad not remembering her name but she and everyone was nice - no complaints). A short embarrassing story...so my best friend and I decided that I would buy one color and he would buy a different color so that we could potentially share both (hey, these belts aren't cheap!). They personally fit each belt to each person and we told the lady to make sure we both could fit both belts. The confused look on her face was priceless. Little did we know, they cut the belts for the person's waist and not simply poke belt holes. We realized later it was such an idiotic and ridiculous request. Lol. But the fact that she didn't make us feel dumb about it is a testament to her tact and politeness (my friend and I still laugh how freaking stupid we were to ask that of her). Lol read more

Need mo' money for mo' Gamo. I saw the Sara Battaglia Zigzag Flap Bag a few months ago and fell completely in love with it. The craftsmanship is amazing, there are details that I hadn't even picked up on until I had taken a close look at my own bag, and most importantly, it matched my guitar! The strap design itself is meant to be asymmetric (so don't worry; your bag isn't a defect lol). The first time I saw the bag was when I wandered into Bloomingdales. The sales supervisor, Nadia Broome was so nice and approachable even when I wasn't a serious customer. I asked her how much it was and let's say it was significantly cheaper than I thought. It was affordable enough for me to be able to save just enough over several months. A few weeks pass by, and I visited the Ferragamo store on Post Street. I met Laura Lin, the assistant general manager, who was so nice for dealing with my shenanigans like asking for bags on the highest shelves and her personal opinion on practically every piece I browsed. Then, I tried on the zigzag bag, which I recall was Laura's favorite bag. For some reason this bag was especially flat or something because my phone definitely didn't fit in it. For the record, my phone is an LG G3 with dimensions: 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm (5.76 x 2.94 x 0.35 in). I left kinda on the fence about the bag because I really do want my bags to hold things. Is that so hard to ask!? A few more weeks pass by where I wouldn't stop thinking about the bag. It's a collaboration with an artist. It's not a permanent item. Where in the world would I find a bag that nice and that "affordable" in a high end brand? I head back with my guy friend, completely ready to take the plunge and purchase the bag. I knew exactly what I wanted, but I wanted to see if maybe just maybe my phone would fit this time. The current sales associate at the time did not treat the display bag very gingerly. She shoved my phone in perfectly. That was good enough for me. My friend and I made our way to purchase the bag but found that there were only display pieces available in the store. I asked the sales associate if she could order one, or I could order one, or I can just go to Bloomingdales for one. She kept pushing the display bag on me and telling me that it's still fine, they just took out the display bag, they're just so popular. There was no way I was going to buy a display bag as my first high end bag because of a pushy sales associate. If there are (and there were) items still available in stock, the sales associates should always reference the stock first. I was about to leave and just buy the bag elsewhere when Laura Lin coincidentally showed up in the front of the store and mentioned that she could get a bag in stock from the local warehouse. As a bonus, she actually recognized me and said hello! All I could say was, HELLO LAURA I'VE RETURNED FOR THE ZIGZAG BAG BECAUSE IT IS MY FAVORITE. Laura Lin my savior. I don't think she was actually selling on the sales floor at that time, but if she could I wish she could've received my commission. My friend and I waited by browsing through the men's section. No lie, Ferragamo has the cutest men's ties. My personal favorite is the giraffe tie. We weren't exactly looking like potential customers so the sales associate in the men's section acted pretty aloof with us. It was no big deal. It was probably better since we could browse the men's bags and wallets with less social expectations. One I received the zigzag bag that Laura went out of her way to get, the same sales associate from the men's section was suddenly nice to us. We left even more emboldened to visit other high end places, because who would say no to a Gamo Bag? Hell yeah baby, only cash money for Gamo. read more

This breaks my heart to day, but this boutique is miserable. I hate shopping here and the only thing that keeps me coming back is that the Vara is the most comfortable shoe for me that is also good for work. It's miserable to go in, there is a young Asian American woman with dyed lighter brown hair who does not make eye contact but always stalks around and makes you feel uncomfortable (mind you, I'm dressed well and already wearing ferragamo shoes and carrying bags from other luxury boutiques?). The other SA i always see is ok, but never warm or helpful. I never enter this shop feeling welcome and I own at least ten ferragamo pieces, all bought at this store. It's frustrating to me that I can go to Chanel, Louis, Burberry and be treated with so much respect and care. This store won't last if they don't tighten up their behavior. There are too many places to buy ferragamo without going to this joke of a boutique. Additionally, an issue I have with the company is they don't honor lifetime guarantees like so many other designers. Time to find a new favorite shoe I guess. read more

He even bothered getting me cushion pads that stick to the inside of your shoes to make sure the fit is really indeed perfect. If you ever need some room or time to think, he senses it and will give it to you, contrary to comparable stores in the area where you will have multiple hawks watching your every move. Omg ...a pair of Italy hand made GLASS shoes!!!!! I have worked in retail for many years so I definitely appreciate great customer service, especially in a luxury brand store and more especially during the holidays. I came in looking for a tie as a christmas gift for my dad and the ASM David greeted me as soon as I walked into the store. I look fairly young for my age so I usually get the "oh she's prob in high school and has no money to buy anything so I'm not going to help her" attitude from many retail employees. However, David kindly showed me the newest shipments in their ties and after many options (my dad is a very picky man) I narrowed the choices down to two. Not really wanting to pay $200 for a tie, I decided to look around other dept stores and instead of getting annoyed, David said no problem and gave me his card enthusiastically. This might not seem like a big deal but I appreciated him being professional and not being put off by the fact that I wasn't buying anything. After going to all the major dept stores in Union sq, I eventually ended up coming back Ferragamo and purchasing a beautiful blue emblem silk tie from David. I love the men's collection much more than the women's in Ferragamo..not really my cup of tea except lately they have been coming out with some really nice modern women's clutches/bags. Their leather work is top notch and worth the money. My dad has every pair of shoes and lasts 10+ years. You get what you pay for which is high quality leatherwork..although I heard that the shoe designer for Ferragamo now works for Gucci which is a shame. Anyways, ask for the ASM David! He will make you feel right at home and less intimidating. read more

Amazing customer service I purchased a clutch from the Ferragamo branch in Hawaii 2 weeks ago and noticed that despite very gentle use and keeping it in a dust bag at all other times, there was considerable peeling on the two front corners of the bag. I stopped in the San Francisco store as I am in town for a work conference and spoke to a lovely woman who referred me to a sales associate that I believe is named Jeff. He inspected the bag and switched it out for me immediately. The whole interaction took less than 5 minutes and they were respectful and polite throughout. This experience will make me turn to Ferragamo first for any bags and shoes I need in the future. There's something about trusting that a brand stands behind its products that is hard to find nowadays, so I wanted to pass on this story! read more

After you spend $360 (before tax) on a belt from a fine designer such as Salvatore Ferragamo, I expected service similarly experienced with other designers I frequent; Louis Vuitton, Gucci... I wanted to try another line, so I went to S. Ferragamo in Waikiki, HI and bought a belt that they cut too short and admitted immediately. He took another belt in the back and said it had been corrected and brought the "corrected" belt out already boxed. I got home, put on the belt, only to realize I couldn't even connect the two ends. I'm only a 32in in the waist. I took it into my local Ferragamo in San Francisco to have this issue rectified. They did nothing and told me to take it up with Waikiki, as if that's a trip around the block. San Francisco was no use at all. Now I am in California, with a brand new belt, I cannot wear due to their mistakes. I truthfully would expect SF to resolve the issue with the customer and take it up with Waikiki themselves. They are employees of Ferragamo, I am the customer. Maybe not anymore. Salvatore Ferragamo should really live up to the price tag. read more

I recently visited this location on my day off. I wasn't planning on buying anything and stumbled upon this location by accident. I was just walking around Union Square when I looked up and saw Ferragamo. I visited their last location a few times, but was happily surprised at how much bigger and nicer this store was. I wanted to check out their wallets and sunglasses. I was greeted very pleasantly at the door and was met on the second floor by a very nice woman named Laurie. Her demeanor really put me at ease and started up a nice conversation. I am usually a little on edge at these kinds of luxury boutiques because I either feel judged or watched like a hawk. I didn't feel either. I loved the layout of the store and selection. I found a wallet that I really liked. It was pretty pricey ($410!) Laurie showed me some colognes and was very engaging. I thanked her for her time and she wished me a happy rest of my day off. I went out to eat dinner and couldn't stop thinking about that wallet, but more importantly the excellent customer service I was given while at Ferragamo. I came back after dinner and got the wallet. As soon as my bank account recovers from the shock I will be back and will surely ask for Laurie. read more
