Love this place! I had to drive from Gulfport MS to Baton Rouge LA and I decided to stop on my way at various local roasters to try their coffee, and bring back some beans. Luma is a trendy coffee shop with a nice ambiance. I decided to go for the Myanmar, and luckily they had some for me, the last batch. It had to be packaged though, so after paying I was send a few doors down to visit the roastery and I believe a creamery--ice cream was being made as I walked in. I got my Myanmar coffee, which is excellent by the way. I had a chance to talk a little with the crew, great group of people. Their coffee is not only great, but also has a good reputation. One of the other roasters I visited as well told me, he loves their coffee. read more

This place infuriated me. Every Sunday, my spouse creature and I do what we call "Sunday Wandering." The first rule of Sunday Wandering is I get a special coffee treat. We have been to every café in Baton Rouge, and have started branching out to the surrounding areas. Luna Coffee Roasters is everything I want in a coffee shop. Its better than every coffee place in Baton Rouge and I am so jealous of the residents of Hammond. Its not fair how good this place. I judge every cafe by its cappuccino, and their cappuchino was made perfectly. We also got their seasonal drink, a coconut and caramel espresso drink, and it was a delightful and indulgent summer treat. The baristas were friendly, fast, and on top of their shit. The exposed brick and blue wall with gold accents was this fun coastal meets classical meets small town coziness. I feel like if I could just sit in their velvet yellow chairs with a cappuchino and my laptop, I would write the next great American novel. Alas, its a bit far from my house. I had a great time sitting up in their loft area and watching the baristas create the cutest and tastiest drinks. I will definitely come back to try the food. read more

My family and I had a great experience here. We went to Zemurray Park in Hammond to look at the Christmas lights. Afterwards everyone was chilled and wanted coffee. We made it to Luma Coffee about 20 minutes before closing time. Despite the last-minute arrival, the guys working were super nice and made us some wonderful hot drinks. We were able to sit with our drinks and warm up for a few minutes before they had to close. The space is comfortable and welcoming. They have a constantly changing menu of seasonal drinks. It is in the downtown area of Hammond so parking could be an issue on weekdays and at peak times. The staff were friendly, answered all our questions, and did not pressure us to leave despite the late hour. We will definitely be back next Christmas if not sooner! read more

Met some friends here who had just moved to Hammond. We had just gotten back from a trip to Europe so still on a cappuccino kick. But we also wanted to try the cure. This was such a unique and yummy drink! Wish we'd gotten two of them. It had espresso, oat milk, heavy cream, honey and vanilla shaken over ice, strained, topped with freshly ground nutmeg and local bee pollen. Absolutely LOVE this place! They were hand roasting coffee during my visit and I got a chance to talk to the gentleman doing the roasting. Educational experience. Ordered The Cure which I was a bit hesitant about because I had never had freshly ground ginger in a coffee drink. It was SO GOOD. The ginger simply enhanced the coffee flavor. There was no strong ginger flavor. I ordered the avocado toast which was also perfect. Atmosphere was very trendy, pleasant crowd, spacious, and I could see myself easily spending a few hours there with friends or working. Can't say enough about Luma. I'm impressed! read more

My coffee was decent, and like that's being nice, so many other places with better coffee and coffee and service. The girl at the counter was very clearly prejudice or racist or SOMETHING because we spent about 12 minutes waiting for someone to step up and take our order, when about three girls weren't doing anything but acting busy. They were giving each other looks as to who would take our order and when our order was finally taken there was no basic greeting, no hi how are you, the girl wouldn't even look me in the eye, almost like she was afraid or disgusted! the person who ordered after me got their coffee before me, also got some very weird looks. I would NOT recommend, getting treated like a criminal while paying 6 dollars for bad coffee isn't fun. read more

What an AMAZING place!!! Did not expect this ingenious redesign of an old pharmacy & local corner hot spot! We were so pleasantly surprised! The coffee was not only creative & novel & authentic but genuinely yummy & stellar quality. Most coffee shops will give you pastries & such but this is like none other! The freshest ingredients! We reordered bc we liked it so much & needed more! And here's a hint...add a little siracha to the top of the salmon cream cheese toast with a fried egg & top it with a piece of the avocado toast! The best sandwich EVER! Flavor explosion! So filling. And there's so much nutrition in it that I can't even feel guilty about the overindulgence! The decor & aesthetic in general is comfy but classy-mild hipster vibe but still with substance & worth & quality. Just badass! We will be back! Oh, and do NOT sleep on the flavored cold foams.
