Ordered and paid for products. They knew the order was incomplete said nothing. During installation we notice we are missing pieces. Called the store, they acknowledge the paid for order but stated they didn't know where the missing components were. This started the blame game, distribution, lost order, computer issues, etc. This went on for nearly 2 weeks. Complaining to local store was useless. We purchased floors from this location. We felt the showroom did a nice job but the contractor they use for installation is absolutely aweful! They showed up the first day and worked 1 1/2 hours and went out for breakfast. They returned and left for the day. Damage to my walls, kitchen cabinets, and moldings. From start to finish, we have been extremely happy with our new floors. Our salesperson, Ryan, was outstanding! We also worked with Nick (I think that was his name?) also outstanding. We had to reschedule our install and everyone was so accommodating and understanding. We had our floors installed by one of LL flooring's third party installers, Jeff. He was excellent. He was at our job each day when he said he would be here. He was courteous, efficient, and worked very hard to complete our job within the time frame as promised. I can't say enough about how happy we are with the workmanship Jeff provided. We have no hesitation recommending LL flooring in Auburn Hills. AWFUL COMPANY! We hired LL Flooring to update our flooring in August 2021, but apparently they subcontract all work. During the work, our home became a mess. The worksite (our master bedroom, kitchen, and living room) were left in complete shambles, with dust, debris, and wood fragments strewn everywhere. Mess is understandable when cutting and working on flooring -- but they clearly gave zero thought and even less effort into tidying and organizing the space. Furthermore, they promised "minimal sawdust" and that they would clean up their mess. This created daily headaches and would eventually impact the quality of work. Either out of ineptitude, disregard for quality, or the aforementioned disorganization, the subcontractor installed the wrong trim in the wrong places. It is apparent in photos and to anyone with working eyes that the trim is wrong and looks out of place. Additionally, the haphazard sawing and mess left flakes of sawdust and splinters of wood to stick to the newly stained floors -- leaving rough patches on our brand new wood floors. We discovered the proper pieces of trim beneath a heap of debris while we were cleaning up the subcontractor's mess. He obviously installed the wrong trim because the proper trim was buried under his mess and he couldn't find it. He put the kitchen floor trim in our bedroom which has a completely different floor. He never fixed it. He did attempt to take excess wood from our renovation with him when he left though! This was during the wood shortage when building materials were increasingly costly, and after seeing him refuse to clean after each work day, I find it hard to believe it was out the goodness of his heart that he was offering to relieve us of unused materials. And by "offering" I mean trying to sneak our brand new and paid for real wood flooring off our property without asking or telling us first. All while bragging about re-doing his own home. Hmmm I wonder why he wanted to take our unused flooring with him. In trying to correct the shoddy work, we reached out to LL Flooring and the subcontractor directly. We were given the runaround for MONTHS. Every time I got a call back, it was a different employee and I had to explain the entire situation all over again. Neither LL Flooring nor the subcontractor took responsibility for the subpar work. We asked for them to send a different subcontractor to fix the job and they refused. Now we are left looking for someone else to fix this mess. I would not recommend LL Flooring to anyone. They don't stand by their work. They immediately cash your check and then refuse to refund or fix the work. This lack of quality control alone is worth finding another company to update your home. Had a rough experience here. Ordered flooring in late November (Black Friday Weekend) for a home we purchased around that same time. With COVID causing shipping delays, we knew delays were possible if not likely. However, this place fell on its face when it came to communication. We had our own installer and were told shipment would be in mid December. To ne fair, we were told that it could be subject to change. In mid-December, we called back and were advised that the shipment was delayed until the end of December. In late December, we initiated the call again and were advised that we had been pushed to mid January. At that point, my wife and I went to the business with the intention of just buying flooring that had in stock. When we got their a younger sales rep checked the status of our order and assured us that the flooring we had initially ordered would be there by mid January. As this flooring was the color and style we wanted we decided to wait. Unfortunately, in mid January, we called to confirm a delivery date and were advised our order was pushed to mid February. At this point we went back to the store and asked them why they would tell us it would be there in mid January, and I was not provided any reasonable response. So we decided to just order flooring their had in stock. Unfortunately, by the time we were forced to reorder, the prices had shot up When we locked in our first order, the flooring we ultimately ended up with was significantly cheaper than the would we initially ordered. But after the shipping delays the wood we ultimately got cost even more than the stuff we ordered in November. To their credit LL did let us buy this product for the same price we paid in November, but it still chapped my ____ we were getting an inferior product for the same cost as the stuff we wanted. At that time the manager acknowledged they failed when it came to communicating with us. Had we not been told that our original order was coming in, we could and would have gotten flooring delivered and installed by the time we ultimately got our order. Blessedly, delivery worked out well and we did get our flooring installed by Mid February. Also, they gave us little to know hassle about returning unused flooring and installation accessories. Shipping delays aside, my biggest issue was the utter lack of communication by LL Flooring re the delays. All call regarding the shipment were initiated by myself and when I called it did not seem as though these delays were news to them. If I was given proper information, my family could have moved to our new home 2 months earlier. In short, do not purchase from this place UNLESS they have what you need at the time you go. read more

BUYER BEWARE! My flooring was to be installed on Sept. 28. I took both Monday and Tuesday off because they said it could take 2 days. The installer, Casey apparently wasn't feeling well and showed up late Monday morning and said all he was going to do was rip up the carpeting and that he would come back to finish the next day. He didn't come back because he was in the hospital for testing and not feeling well still. But said he would come back on Saturday to finish because I told him I couldn't take any more days off. Leaving my living room and the rest of my floors unfinished and horrible looking and all my furniture shoved into my dining room for another 5 days. He did come in Saturday, Oct. 3 said he was feeling better and laid most of the flooring down but did not finish any of the trim work and part of the bathroom floor and leaving all of the boxes and trim work and glue and garbage still in my entry and the garage. On Oct 5, he was supposed to finish my floors after work, I hurried home and texted him to make sure he was still coming. He texted back saying that he was running late on another job and couldn't make it. He said he was able to make it on Oct 6. On Oct 6, Casey texted me saying he had to cancel because it would be better for him to come in the next day, Oct 7. I said ok and said 5:30. I again changed my plans and waited for him. On Oct 7, he texted me saying he had a family emergency and would come over Sunday, October 8. He said he would let me know if he can make it. I again changed all my plans and waited for him. He didn't text me back like he said he would so I texted him on the 8th to see if he still could and finish my floors like he said he would but he said no, he was in a hospital because his father in law was ill. Completely frustrated and fed up, I then called both LL and Carrie for help on Oct. 12. Carrie didn't answer her phone or return the messages I left. Dave and Rick at LL left me messages and he assured me it would be taken care of and that I should work with Casey for a day and time. I texted Casey and we agreed on Saturday Oct. 24th but unfortunately, my cat had a medical emergency and I had to rush him to 2 different vets, one was an hour away in Washington Twp. I can verify with receipts. I texted Casey and told him that and we then agreed to Saturday Oct 31. Around 1 or 2. I again changed all my plans and waited for him. Casey texted me at 1:51pm when he should have already been here, on Oct 31 saying he was at another job and was running way behind and could we reschedule for Sunday. Nov. 1. I will again change my plans and wait for him because I have no choice. The molding work he did was SO bad! I took photos and showed my friends on line, No one could believe the horrible workmanship! My flooring job has now taken well over 30 days to complete and now I need to wait to have the moulding work re-done. This is of course totally unacceptable and I would like to know how LL is going to resolve this and compensate me. So far nothing from LL, no compensation, no solutions, no return phone calls. The tracking that was sent with the product we ordered DOES NOT WORK with the trim!!! It has been a complete nightmare trying to get this to work and we have broken piece after piece because the wrong track is packaged with this product. It's literally unusable. Although the sales people are very "nice", they suggested we "just glue the trim down"... what a lazy solution to finishing a project. Very disappointed. Was told that customer service would contact us to help come up with a solution. That never happened. 1400 square feet of flooring has already been installed with NO USABLE TRIM. Unbelievable. The irony is that hundreds of people will be seeing this floor locally every week and now I can't ethically recommend LL flooring if they ask about the floor. I believe the sales representatives are good people, but not sure why they don't have the support to get a customer service representative to rectify problems. I drove over to the Clinton Twp location myself because the assistant manager stated they didn't have any other solutions and the Clinton Twp location gave me as much help as they could so that I can actually complete this job. Their sales staff at the store was great, but as far is installed it was a freaking nightmare. They quoted a month before they put the Floor down, the guy showed up did the dining room and never came back, no calls no nothing just disappeared. Tried calling the store it took them four days to get back with me. They kept promising they will come out and finish it and each time nobody showed up. We went to LL Flooring just to check them out since we'd seen their ads, but thought we'd just get an estimate and probably go with someone else. To our surprise, they had a nice selection of flooring at good prices and so we asked to have an in-house estimate. The installation estimator, Dave, was a really great guy and definitely knew what he was doing. He pointed out some areas that would be "problem" areas, but had suggestions for exactly what products we could choose from to make it work. (Our house is more than 100 years old, so has lots of irregularities). He answered all our questions and the estimate he gave us was better than the other estimates we had. The product was delivered about 10 days before the install. The installer, Larry, was extremely efficient and worked hard. Did a great job with everything from laying the floors to installing the trim molding and the floors look amazing. They are good about taking back any unused materials too. We are very happy with our new floors. read more

This place sucks! We went there to get a quote on new wood flooring. There was no one in the counter-top section, and had to leave the building to get to the flooring department; weird! Why have them separated is beyond me!?!?! We found someone in there, but he was on the phone, once he got off the call he picked up the phone for someone else who called in. Wait guy, we've been here waiting for 10 minutes! Finally he comes over, but is not friendly or helpful at all! We wanted to know about their products, but he was all nasty toward us and not even helpful. We asked him if the sale price was listed on the product and he says "thats what the yellow sticker is for! That's whats on sale!". Thanks, jerk! Their prices were in-line with other stores, and the sale items were not much better than at Home Depot or Lowes. EDIT: In 2015, we had to hire an environmental specialist to come into our house to check the air quality to the tune of $500 due to the shoddy quality of the flooring they sell here. It turns out, some of the bamboo flooring was reportedly giving off noxious fumes that were making people sick. Luckily, our air test passed, but we were out an extra $500. We've since moved out of that house and built a new house - we spent $7,500 in flooring at a MUCH better flooring shop in Macomb county. Avoid, avoid, AVOID Lumber Liquidators! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I wish I could give this place ZERO stars for their lack of customer service, their inability to pay attention to detail, their complete lack of knowledge when it comes to their products and.... well I could go on forever. We bought $5000 worth of bamboo flooring from them last year when my husband and I were building our house. They told us it was a floating bamboo floor (which is why we bought it) and then discovered that it was indeed NOT a floating floor until after we made the purchase. We had to install a subfloor for extra $$$ because the people working at LL don't know anything about their products. When we purchased the floor, we wrote a check as the cashier told us that was the preferred method of payment. When he gave me our receipt, I noticed that our address was typed in wrong on the sheet - it was for a house in a city 200 miles away from where we live. When I pointed it out, the cashier told me that it didn't really matter anyway, it's just to send catalogs in the mail. Fine. Flash forward to two months later when I get a call from a collections department. My husband and I had no idea that there was some issue with our check and no one had bothered to call me AT ALL. When I called Lumber Liquidators to find out what the problem was, they told me that they had been sending notices to our house for two months. Guess where those notices were being sent? TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. When explained to the collector, everything was taken care of and the funds were taken from our bank account (where they had been sitting the whole time!). What a HASSLE. When we complained to the manager at lumber liquidators we were told there was absolutely nothing they would do. Great customer service, right? After this debacle, we returned to the store a few months after that for some matching bamboo nosing for our stair treads. We REALLY didn't want to go back but we had to get the matching stuff. We asked the cashier if we could return the 5 boxes of bamboo flooring that we had left over because they had given us the wrong amount off of our blueprints. The cashier said yes and to load up the boxes and bring them back. We loaded up the boxes (they weigh about 100 pounds per box) and took them to LL only to have the manager tell us that they don't return any material after 30 days unless we want to pay a 25% restocking fee. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME. Avoid this place like a plague! The savings on the floor is NOT WORTH IT! read more

Our experience with Lumber liquidators has been terrible since our floor was installed. I even had them do the installation thinking that they would be responsible. The floor has separated and there are visible gaps all around the walls. We have tried repeatedly to get resolution and we can't even get anyone from Lumber Liquidators to come out. They keep sending the installers and the solution they are proposing is unacceptable. We just keep going round and round. Our floor was over $4000.00 and the other upgrades we have done are well over $15,000.00. My next move is for them to come get their floor. read more

The experience with the store was fine. Associates were knowledgeable and friendly. They worked with me for every little change in the plan. My disappointment came from the installation experience. It started with being rescheduled 3 times. Then only part of the crew showed up. They start late (between 9-10am), then the main installer (Josh) would leave early everyday. He was also very confrontational. His mindset is to just install the floor the way he wants and not consider how the customer would like the end result to be. Multiple pieces were damaged and instead of replacing them, he would just proceed which requires cutting them out and gluing down new pieces later. Obviously it doesn't turn out the way it should. His craftsmanship was mediocre at best. He would often talk down to his coworker also. His professionalism is very poor. If it wasn't for CJ, this would have been a complete disaster. He had to take the burden on all by himself, which made the job go longer, but was finished properly. The work CJ did was great. He genuinely cares about his work and that the customer is satisfied. After it was all done, there were glue spots all over the floor that I had to clean up and many, many black marks left on the white wood floor by their equipment that don't come off with standard cleaning practices. I'm afraid that if I use a "cleaner", it will either ruin the finish and/or void the manufacturers warranty. read more

This was the 4th time we purchase laminate flooring from this store. On average greater than 2000ft2. We had great experiences with all the sales associates in the store (Store #144). They are very friendly and takes time to explain the different options and also take the extra effort to bring out full-length samples to show us in the showroom floor. Best of all the laminate click and lock designs are one of the best, easy to install and very secure. Definitely will be back for more and highly recommend others. We went here after a terrible experience with Home Depot. The entire process went smoothly and quickly and we LOVE our new floors! The whole job was done in 2 weeks after we waited 8 weeks for Home Depot. The sales people were patient and helpful. The measure and install were conveniently scheduled. The delivery guys were nice. The installer did a perfect job. The poor guy cut himself and had to go to the ER but he arranged for another installer to come over after he had finished another job. He worked until 8 at and came back early Saturday morning to finish the job. They were both neat with the materials and the empty boxes, etc. My husband and I were both very impressed. read more

Update: after speaking with their sales team, ended up going with lumber liquidators. They were very accommodating and allowed me to return the leftover boxes I had. Floor turned out great. I was shopping for about 1200 sq ft of hardwood. I liked their rosewood Patagonia and they gave me the volume discount. The problem is when I read the other review, j was turned off. They'd sell you more wood than you need, have a 20% restocking fee and the accessories are way too expensive. I have not yet decided but probably will go somewhere release. The pricing is so-so and the volume discount was less than 10% and this was not worth the hassle. read more

I just had my Living room and hallway redone with wood flooring. It turned out awesome! They have a big selection of various flooring in the store. I was greeted right away by a salesperson. I was also helped by more than one salesperson. I told them what I was doing and they gave me the pros and cons on the various wood flooring selections that I was looking at. I called their national customer service hotline and was given the same information that the salespeople gave me at the store. This was helpful in making a decision. I've done my two bedrooms with flooring purchased from Lumber Liquidators also and the rooms turned out great. They were honest and forthright about any problems that may arise. Bought my bamboo floating floor from Lumber Liquidators in May of 2014. I also paid them to put down my baseboards. In September 2014 the floor in the spare room was coming up and they sent the installer out to fix it and put down the baseboards. when the installer arrived he stated he could not do the baseboards because he was committed to watch college football that day and proceeded to cut up the floor with dust going everywhere. He also said I needed a piece of t molding between the door and hallway. Another several weeks went by and finally some one else came out to install the t molding. By November the floor between my kitchen and hallway had a 1 1/2 inch gap in it. I started calling Lumber Liquidators to have some one come out and look at it to see what needed to be done. I was constantly put off for several months. When the floor did not go back together they said they had to send it out to customer service department and someone from there would contact me. Now we are into 2015 and after several calls to the store I finally received a letter from customer service in Virginia with a letter stating I could pay to get an opinion from another company. Seriously we are talking about a $35.00 piece of t molding that the installer should have know to put in. I continued to make call after call to no avail, always leaving a message with no return call and by May 2015 the warranty was up, even though I was assured from the store since I had made my complaint prior to the warranty expiring they would honor it. NOT!!!! NEVER WILL I GO BACK, NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND ANY CHANCE I GET TO SAY HOW HORRIBLE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS I WILL LET ANYBODY KNOW THAT BEFORE THEY SHOP THERE. read more
