I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.

OK, I bought a shade a few years ago from BlindsToGo. A year ago, I started using it daily. It is built with a chain, which broke. Basically, it lasted one year before failing. I suspect a cord is a better choice, that chains are more likely to break. It's a design defect, in my opinion. At first, I was quoted $82, to be repaired in my home. Later, the cost suddenly went up to $165. I complained and eventually, by both bringing in the defective blind, and picking it up again, I got B2G to repair my blind (which took them 10 days). Will I be buying anything in the future from this store. In a word, no I will not.

Cellular shades are one thing; installation "made easy" is another thing. Firstly, DIY, really, but…read morefollow the following adjustments to the installation instructions: First, the bracket attachment screws are made for a square end screwdriver, which many DIY folks may not have, although Phillips #2 screwdriver will sort of suffice as long as not much pressure is needed to drive it in. Furthermore, if the bracket needs to be attached for inside mount, the back screw head is sufficiently fat or thick that it did not permit the back of the shade enough room to click up into place. We had to buy the same size Phillips flathead screws. Also, for drilling into wood, a 3/32 drill bit is recommended, but the hole is tiny and the screw needs much more torque to go in, and using a Phillips head screwdriver may chew up the screw head. We found a 7/64 drill bit to be much better. So, even though installation was a sad saga that should have been simpler--and perhaps the idea is to promote the use of one of the shop's handymen--following some of the above tips should allow you to DIY!

Specifically Hyun the owner and Tony the installer were a joy to work with. Hyun herself personally would call, FaceTime or text questions and updates to me. She was patient in explaining all aspects of the blinds and design choices- e.g. whether to go with individual blinds for side by side windows vs one big blind, what products to choose that would be the best value and provide the aesthetic and functionality we wanted. When Hyun's blinds supplier was affected by Covid supply chain issues that Hyun had no control over, she found similar Graber blinds from another supplier that were actually better than the ones I initially requested and ordered them so that the blinds would arrive sooner. In the meantime, I was hosting a birthday party in my home and was not feeling good about having to show thumbtacked sheets over the windows. When I told Hyun this, she personally brought over temporary shades to put in their place at no additional cost. This removed the eyesore aspect before the permanent blinds arrived a few weeks later and were installed. Hyun was also fair about requiring half the money in deposit to order the blinds but needing full payment only when we saw them installed and were satisfied.

Specifically, one of the batteries for the automated blinds will not hold a charge. As these batteries are essential to the system's operation, this is a significant issue. We have sent multiple emails regarding this matter, but we have yet to receive a response. To me, customer service remains vital even after the primary work is finished. Due to this lack of communication and support, I would not feel comfortable recommending your services to others.
