I am a new patient of Dr. Andrea V. and I must say she is such a nice, understanding and great listener of an eye doctor to begin with. She took time to thoroughly ask and answer questions which I appreciated. I agree with the other reviews that she is genuinely interested in her patients and their eye health. She made sure that I get the correct prescriptions unlike my former eye doctor. The staff are very helpful from the front desk to Lourdes who helped me choose my frames and helped explain the benefits behind my prescriptions. Dr. Vosbikian has been my optometrist since I moved to Massachusetts 6 years ago. I've been wearing glasses and using contacts for over 18 years and I've never had an optometrist listen to me more. My eyes are on the more sensitive side and I've always struggled going to the optometrist because of it. She was able to pinpoint reasons why my eyes were extra sensitive and put me on a better plan with contacts that worked better for me. Dr. V is amazing as well as the whole staff, I've had glasses since I was 1 years old so I have dealt with my fair share of eye glasses places and Drs. The thing I enjoy most about her style is that she explains what she see's, why she is doing what she's doing and really helps you understand your prescription and eye problems which I truly enjoy. Everyone at this place is racist, rude, unprofessional and incompetent. Starting with the front desk to the doctor. I called several times to talk to the optometrist regarding my eyes prescription and when she finally called me back she straight up told me that she would call the cops on me because I'm "harassing her" and "yelling at her" and hung up abruptly on me. How are you going to argue with your patient regarding their prescription? I told her several times that the prescription is toooo strong for me and she REFUSED to listen to me. I called the office several times after she hung up to discuss the matter and she refused to pick up and BLOCKED me. I paid to get a new prescription for my glasses and lens and both of them are incorrect. I can't even see, walk and read with them. Like my prescription are WAY TOOO strong. She'd rather threaten to call the police instead of listening to a black woman. If you are a black person, please stay away from this place. They would call the cops on you without hesitation. They would say that you're yelling at them but they would refuse to listen to you. They would even try to play the victim card even they are dead wrong. STAY AWAY!!! I'm the one wearing the glasses so if I say I don't feel comfortable with them and need a new prescription, I have the right to get new prescription. This place is great. A clean spacious room located in an old mill building. I had my first eye exam in 20 years recently and they were very helpful from choosing the right contacts to glasses that fit my face correctly. Recently I was having trouble with my eyes and called. I've been going to Dr Boroyan for 20 years, but the last few visits have me looking for a new doctor. Both my husband and I have had problems with our glasses, our prescriptions, and scheduling mishaps with the front office staff. The last four--yes FOUR--appointments were changed without notifying us, so when we arrived for our appointments (for which we had to take time off from work), we were told "sorry, you don't have an appointment today" or that we missed the appointment earlier in the day. Then, the icing on the cake....the lady behind the desk accidentally charged my visa card for $1000 instead of $100. I had to go back in person to get that fixed, taking more time off from work. This is unacceptable. The optician ordered the wrong size glasses for me, and had to re-order. Dr. Vospikian wrote my lens prescription incorrectly, and I had to have new lenses ground. Meanwhile, I had to walk around with the incorrect lenses for a week while I waited for the new lenses to come in. Dr Boroyan wrote a prescription for progressive lenses for my husband instead of transitions. We had to wait again while new lenses were ordered. I'm tired of all the mistakes. The office staff is nice, but inept at best. I can understand one mistake, even two, but all these issues add up. I'm done. read more

Doctor Boroyan has been my optometrist for nearly twenty years, and in that span I've come to trust him completely with my vision and eye health. I've been shepherded through many changes in vision needs by Doctor B, from my first pair of glasses at 11, to sports goggles in my early teens, through my first pair of contact lenses. Even when living hundreds of miles away or abroad, I've always made a point to schedule my eye appointments during trips back home to Massachusetts. The exams are thorough, the explanations of medical issues comprehensive and easily understandable, and the advice on eyewear and contact lens options is always honest and straightforward. Unlike a retail optician, I've never felt that my medical care was secondary to a sale, and I've never been upsold on products that I wasn't interested in. If trust is the currency of the health industry, I'm glad that I've invested so much in so capable a doctor. read more

I work in this area so this practice is a convenient place for me to get new glasses and get my annual eye check. Dr. Boroyan is my doctor and he is amazing! He always explains the purpose of each examination before performing them. This makes me calm and comfortable since I am always afraid of getting my eye checked. After moving to Massachusetts from Connecticut, I needed a new O.D., and this office was convenient to where I live. This was my first visit to the practice, and I saw Doctor Vosbikian for my exam. She was very thorough and explained all aspects of the exam, including answering my many questions, and exploring the differences between several different lens types. Alex, the office's optician then patiently helped me get set up with new eyewear (again, never rushing, and pausing to answer all of my questions). They have many styles of frames right in the office. Even the office administrators were very kind and helpful. This was a great experience and I'll definitely be going back! I was a new patient. Saw Doctor Vosbikian on my first visit to get contact lenses. After a brief exam she laid out my options for lenses. I appreciated her helpfulness in finding me the best lens for the best value. I wanted a high quality lens, but didn't want to break the bank. She took the time to help me navigate rebates that could get me what I wanted for the least amount of money. She didn't try to steer me towards a specific product, but rather helped me make an informed decision. She even offered me a couple of samples to try out different options before my follow up. I saw Doctor Boroyan for my follow up. He gave me some great tips to extend the life of my lenses and my eyes. Two days after my follow up I had a year supply of contacts in my mailbox. I'll definitely return as a patient. They have convenient hours and are easy to get to if you live in greater Lowell. I have been wearing glasses since I have was a child, so needless to say, I have plenty of experience with optometrists, picking out glasses, etc. Dr. Vosbikian was incredibly thorough and kind and spent a lot of time with me answering questions, multitudinous at times they were. I have been seeing Dr. Henry Boroyan for my vision since ~1972, in fifth grade. He has seen me through glasses, contacts and graduated lenses. He has always been jovial yet professional, warm and informative, and so personable. After I grew up, I resided in western Mass, and Virginia and, since 2002, in Central Maine - a 3-hour trip. Although the support staff has changed over the decades, Dr. B has always chosen excellent and competent office staff. The Associate in Boroyan Eye Associates is Dr. Vosbikian, a wonderful addition to the practice! She possesses the same outstanding qualities as Dr Boroyan mentioned above, except in a younger container! (heehee). I always look forward to my appointments. In fact, I don't think of them as "appointments"; it's more like visiting a knowledgeable friend! I have no intention of ever switching optometrists. I saw Dr. Boroyan after a bad experience with my previous optometrist. The eye exam was very relaxed, but thorough. He explained each procedure and its purpose, and also gave me honest recommendations regarding contacts, my glasses, and Lasik. While my issue with my previous optometrist was mostly related to their billing practices, Dr. Boroyan and the office staff are a vast improvement overall. I'm very happy I switched and highly recommend Dr. Boroyan. read more

I have been going to Boroyan for 2 years now. I have had no problems in the past. On March 17, I received an email stating it was time to schedule an eye exam. I called, scheduled an eye exam on March 26th and had no problems. However, when I went to pick up my glasses (that took about 3 weeks to come in, not 7-10 business days) I was told that I owed over $150 for the exam because my insurance would not cover the appointment due to it not being 2 years since my last appointment. WHY would a company not notify their patients when they know their insurance information that it hasn't been exactly 2 years!? And WHY would a company send out an email saying it's time for an eye exam when they know that it hasn't been enough time for insurance to kick in to cover?! The office staff is extremely incompetent and not very personable. There were problems with my payments as well. Dr. Vosbikian is such a down to earth, charismatic, and knowledgeable individual and will make leaving Boroyan Eye Associates (to find a new eye doctor) VERY DIFFICULT. read more

Horrible customer service I came in for a eye exam / contact lens on 4/17 a Tuesday and also bought lenses for my glasses on same day and was told they should be ready the next Monday they would need time to cut and size them . I never received any calls all week and finally called them on 4/28 because I work the same hours as them during the week and had no time . They told me I never showed up Monday so that they assumed I didn't care. Now let me remind you I already payed in full for everything cash with no insurance so I definitely cared and needed them . Then the owner goes to tell me I can get a refund on the lenses but she won't be able to give me a prescription to go elsewhere to get it done such as LensCrafters that does this in under two hours same day. This is totally unprofessional and not the way to handle there own mistakes and I had already payed for the exam so the prescription should have already been in my hands when I left on 4/17 I just didn't ask cause I assumed I would be coming back the next Monday . They obviously don't care about you once u pay them . Never going back and will tell everyone I know how awful this place is and how rude they are when they make a mistake . read more
