I came in right before they were closing. I was craving for fried chicken and my sister recommended I go here. The older lady hooked me up with her last batch of chicken that was freshly fried 3 hours ago and sitting in the heating bin. It was still crispy. Perfectly crispy. She gave me a total of 16 wings (what was left) and threw in the rice for the price of buying 12 wings. She told me the recipe is a secret, but being a cook, I think I know what the secret is... I've only been in the US for three years, but I'd consider Lumpia House as my "home away from home" simply because I get to enjoy some of my favorite Filipino food that I know are homemade material. My husband and I ordered party packages of their pancit palabok, lumpia, and lechon kawali, and they were a big hit! They were freshly made when we picked them up, so they were still warm when we brought them to the party. Couldn't recommend them enough! read more

Today's the second time I've come here. The first time, the food was okay, but nothing notable. I did really enjoy their lechon (no air-conditioning, so it stays crisp), which is why I came again today. I really just wanted to bring something home for dinner. I asked about a piece of lechon, which is charged by weight. So, after talking to the two ladies behind the counter, it seemed more prudent to get the "1 item" dish. Nope. Bad mistake. I got home with my purchases only to find mostly rice (for $5.00). I saved three bucks for a bunch of rice. And, it's not that great this time (tastes kinda burnt). I also bought a single suman for $.75. It's ok. Again, portion is on the small side. In short, they're not very generous with their servings. The food is okay. The service... it sucked this time but was really good last time, so the service is variable. I would recommend Orient Valley in RP for better food with bigger servings and better service. And, I'd go to Christie's Bakery in Mira Mesa for better suman. read more

The food is definitely authentic and delicious. I had the Steamed Rice, Pinukbet, and Lechon for $6.99. We went there around 5pm on a Friday and the pans were all full of freshly made entrees. My husband and I were hungry and we are both very familiar with Filipino food. We had stopped into this place before, a few years ago, and were satisfied back then. Yesterday, however, was a different story. There was one lady working there and she had an attitude not aligned with our normal experiences at other Filipino businesses. Unfriendly and rushing us. My first clue should have been that and the fact she didn't use the word "dinuguan" for the pork blood stew. We got the chicken adobo and chicken afritada, and I ordered a few of the vegetable "lumpias." Because she was out of the afritada after serving my husband's plate, I had to go with the pork adobo and sinigang. The vegetable "lumpias" were good, but I would like to note I have never seen vegetable lumpias offered at other restaurants - these were Chinese style egg rolls. Also, the dipping sauce was basically just white vinegar! No fish sauce! No sweet chili sauce! Just white vinegar. In fact, we could not taste any hint of fish sauce whatsoever in the other dishes! The pancit was bland, I had to add some of the vinegar dip to make it more palatable. I can only conclude that this is not all Filipino food, and those who think it is have not had authentic Pinoy food (my condolences.) 2 stars for the Chinese style egg rolls, but everything else was a waste of money, and with the bitter taste of her bad attitude to boot. What an insult to Filipino food. I guess this would be an okay place for the groceries, but we will not return. read more

went in here for a really quick last minute potluck bring-something-from-home type of deal. and We went in here it was pretty slow which was good they had a couple tables, and the service was very fast. I ordered a lot of wings. I think I wiped the place clean by taking their last small tray. I liked how it was very organized in there & their chiccharon slices are HUGE i cant emphasize that enough. They were very kind and even set up a display for our wings even though it was pretty last minute. The quality of the wings is great too I like how they set it all up. I am giving this place poor rating for customer service. I went yesterday for the first time since I was in a hurry and thought they would be quick. I was also craving Filipino food. There were 2 people at the counter and one of the server was serving a customer. The 2nd person at the counter completely ignored me. He didn't even say hi or at least acknowledged me. He just looked at me, didn't smile, and went back, which I am assuming was the kitchen. The other server was taking a while with the other customer. The 2nd person came back out and still ignored me. This was over 10 min at the counter. Since I really was in a hurry and this place was unfriendly and slow, I walked out. I am used to warm and friendly customer service that I get from Orient Valley in Rancho Penasquitos. I have been going there for over 25 years. I was starving and needed to eat within 30 min before my appointment. Sushi Lounge was in the same center so I walked there. The hostess was very friendly and I asked if I can have a quick lunch. She said yes and quickly seated me at the Sushi Bar. The Sushi Chef immediately took my order. I finished my delicious lunch within 15 min with time to relax. I have never been to this restaurant and will definitely go back. It's too bad that I will never go to Lumpia House and taste their food. Haven't tried the food yet because, well...it wasn't ready. Let me explain... Came here on a weekend morning to grab some breakfast. Never been here, but I was hoping they had some tocilog or longsilog or something like that. I got there a little after 10 (which is when they were supposed to open) and they were still closed. I waited around for a bit and the door opened. By this time it's about 10:20. I was about to walk in but they had a bunch of platters of desserts on the tables so it looked like they were still setting up. I decided to wait until they were ready. At almost 10:30 I walked up to the door and asked if they were open as they continued to prep the food on the tables. They asked me what I was looking for. I was a bit confused by the question. I mean, I was looking for...food. But before I could answer they said, "none of the hot food is ready and all we have are desserts. Come back later." Sooooo 30 minutes after you open you have no hot food ready, you still look closed, all the tables are occupied with trays of desserts and I'm supposed to come back? My sister ordered food from Lumpia House for her party. OH.MY.GAWD Lumpia House makes great food! I especially love their sisig, which is "healthier" than most (can sisig be healthy?). We heard they cook it four times...it is NOT greasy at all...and it is packed with flavor. Their kare-kare is also delicious! And finally, one cannot eat at the Lumpia House without having their lumpia..which was tasty as well. I highly recommend the Lumpia House...can't wait to to back! read more

I went to have an early lunch with family and we got there right when they opened at 11. The first thing that came to mind was since they just opened, it would be freshly cooked food. I ordered a one side item with rice. The woman proceeded to prepare my order. She put some rice on a tray and then microwaved it! Straight out of the rice cooker and right into the microwave which is positioned under the rice cooker! Who serves rice from the night before when they first open?! How is this ok? Why not simply use it to make fried rice or something? The service was horrible! The woman taking our order was so rude for no reason! I thought maybe she was the owner so she wasn't afraid of how poorly she treated the customers. When we walked in she didn't greet us even after we said hello (we were the only ones there). She said, "wait," and seemed annoyed when we asked questions. There wasn't a menu or any prices on the wall, like most fast food places. I asked where the price list was, she didn't answer. I finally found some papers with the menu/price list, stacked with the rest of the food. The lumpia wasn't fresh. It was oily, not much flavor and very small. The only reason why I didn't walk out the door was because my sister was in the mood for Filipino food and it was our first time to try this place. While we were at the table eating, another customer came in and the same employee was so nice to her. My sister and I both looked at each other because we couldn't believe this was the same, rude employee. I didn't think she was capable of being nice, so it was a big surprise. She greeted her with, "Hello, may I help you? What made it worse was the food was mediocre, and looked old like it had been sitting there for a while. I didn't feel like eating the food that looked old, so I opted for the lumpia. The tables and plastic forks were dirty. Finally Poway gets a Filipino place around since Lilian's in Carmel closed down and guess what?! It's the same owner/chef as Lilian's! Lumpia house is the place I go to get my BBQ chicken, salt and pepper chicken wings, and sho mai fixings. They're packed with flavors. The chicken wings stay crispy all day long!!! The desserts are a MUST HAVE! They're not super sweet but just enough to satisfy that sweet tooth! The halo-halo and sago gulaman is a must have on hot days. :) read more

The place is nice, clean and very convenient if you live within Poway. The only problem I see is that you need to check your to-go combo. if I didn't check mine before leaving, the food server was going to put burnt rice that was on the bottom of the rice cooker. And the rice is mostly sticky like paste. Not good quality. Their servings are not as generous as the other Filipino fast-foods like Tita's Kitchenette or Conching's (National City) and Orient Valley. It adds up when you overwhelm your customer with a wow factor by being generous with the portions that you put on our orders. This will definitely prompt us to come back and pass the word to our family and friends. Not to mention the good reviews you'll be getting on Yelp! Just my two cents. read more

All had just got done being cooked so i figured why not get it all how can i go wrong now discovering that everything had been recooked that's where i went wrong :( The pancit had no flavor tasted like old noodle that had been sitting on a shelf forever the sisig wasn't sour at all tasted like bell peppers and the longanisa was mushy and my lumpia was burnt :( My sinigang and adobo were in separate containers but after tasting the other stuff 1st i wasn't motivated to try them. Happened to see this spot after taking my dog to Dr. Bob (Best Friends Vet Hospital) and it gave me a craving for lumpia. The bf went in to grab 2-dozen lumpia (only $5/dozen!) for us to snack on. He said they were nice and the place was clean. I like the convenience and price of the grab-n-go lumpia, but... you get what you pay for. Lumpia wasn't hot, it was probably fried up a few hours ago. I'd probably go back to try some of their other fare, but based on the lumpia, I don't think this will be a destination food spot for me. read more

This review is for the sisig and crispy wings. I ordered one tray of each. Both stayed crispy throughout my party and the sisig was not oily at all as I've found some places do not drain the pork well causing it to sit in a vat of oil. This kept the sisig crispy all night.
