Small and cozy location with warm service at the counter. Had the lunch special which was supposedly Thai spicy and it was not at all. It's decent and great value for money but taste was just ok. No char from the wok type flavor and kind of Americanized but still a decent lunch stop

I've been here twice now, once I ordered online and I dined in recently. It's a little quiet around 1 pm which I like because I don't have to fight for a place to sit or wait too long. Both times, I've ordered the lunch chicken pad see ew noodles and it's always filling and so good! You get the option of choosing an egg roll or wontons and the wontons are soo yummy! The staff is always super polite and courteous. Not a bad experience yet!

    Special Curry

I had the opportunity to try this new special curry, i was recommended by the team there. It was not on the menu yet, i dont have a name for it, but i was told it would be soon. The flavor is really y different from all other curry i had at other places. It was super delicious, if you love curry you would love it. I highly recommend if u get the opportunity to try it, there is two way of enjoying it. First would be enjoying just the way it comes and once you had enough of the way it comes. You mix the curry and rice together it will give you a different flavor.

    Kids pad thai and Eggrolls

Im so glad i tried this spot out. Ive been having an increasingly small appetite so ive been ordering kids meals. They have a great variety of kids meals here so I opted for the pad thai with tofu. Also upon checking in, i got a free thai tea which was the cherry on top! The kids pad thai was the perfect size for me and I also ordered a side of egg rolls. Both items came out piping hot and delicious. The egg rolls were crunchy and the plum sauce was amazing. The pad thai was really good too but was missing some important components of a pad thai such as peanuts, bean sprouts and lime. But I will ask for lime next time. The whole meal cost me about $15 which wasnt horrible. Overall, the food was great so im definitely coming back!

Legitimate Thai food should be fresh and full of flavor. Had a craving and thought to give them a chance. That choice resulted is a limited menu with seriously bland food. I appreciate it was cooked fresh, but when you order a medium spice for one dish and the other is mild, they were both plain. My husband had the chicken curry. I ordered the fried rice. We both needed to chili sauce to make it taste so-so. Have to give the credit for a clean place with friendly staff. This place is good for anyone who to eat. Authentic Thai? Not here.

    Shrimp with glass noodles

A delicious spot to get Thai food in 4S Ranch. Stopping in here on the way home to pick up some dinner was a great plan. I also want to note that even though they have no indoor seating there is plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered shrimp with glass noodles. They had quite a line of people waiting and a lot of to go orders. The staff inside had it all under control. I waited about 10 minutes for my food. It came out in a sealed paper bag with my receipt stapled on the bag. When I got home and opened the bag I pulled out my environmental friendly container and my food was still warm! Everything was delicious there were a lot of shrimp which is unusual these days. Lately, you only see about 4 shrimp. I kept finding shrimp and more the next day when I ate the rest. I will definitely be back to try their curry.

Visited Gor Gai today after not having had been here a while. Did a take out as they're open during COVID for to-go orders. Portions were great and price was awesome too! Dishes were well flavored! I cannot say enough good things about this place. We had a slight mixup with the restaurant giving us a seafood dish, when we're primarily a chicken/veggie kind of household. I left a voicemail for the restaurant, and they called back the next morning informing us that they would credit us an entree amount to the phone number we used to order with. Overall, satisfied with the food and the customer service!

It's located next to Because We Care Dog & Cat Groomer in the smaller area where Better Buzz is of Plaza Rancho Penasquitos in Rancho Penasquitos. There is a small parking lot that can get full during weekdays and weekends. I got the mini Huli Huli Chicken, and it looked...unfortunately quite sad (peep the pic). Unlike the other recent pictures of the same mini Huli Huli Chicken, I only received one small piece of chicken--smaller than my palm--that was drenched in sauce. The others with the same other had multiple pieces of chicken and weren't nearly as saucy as mine. I felt that mine also lacked the smokiness or garnishes to make the meal more appetizing. It was a pretty sad-looking $13 plate. My friend got their Saturday special, which comes with a two-choice poke. She went with half spicy ahi and half shoyu ahi. The ahi was quite fresh. The shoyu ahi was really good, but the spicy ahi wasn't either of our favorite. It had a ton of mayo, making it a bit difficult to eat. She also got their Butter Mochi with Coconut, which she really enjoyed. I was really looking forward to trying this shop, so it was a bit disappointing to leave feeling very underwhelmed. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? Hopefully, my experience with the mini Huli Huli Chicken was just a one-off, and the next couple of people who order it will have a better experience than I did.

The drumsticks were nowhere near as fresh and delicious as they normally are--they were very tough, dry, and just not enjoyable. What upset me the most, though, was the customer service. When I walked in to pick up my order, the server was closing out at the cashier. Instead of greeting me, she simply looked at me without saying anything. I was the one who had to say "hi," and even then, there was just an awkward stare with no response. I eventually had to say, "I'm here for pickup." That was such an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. I actually have interacted with this same server before. During a previous dine-in visit, there was a male employee and her working the floor. The male employee appeared to be doing pretty much everything, while she seemed more interested in being on her phone. Seeing the same lack of attentiveness again this time was very disappointing. I worked as a server myself for over 7 years while I was in school, so I understand that restaurants can get busy and that everyone has off days. But greeting customers and acknowledging them when they walk in is basic customer service. A simple "Hi, how can I help you?" would have made a huge difference. Between the poor food quality this time and the disappointing service, we probably won't be coming back. It's unfortunate because we've enjoyed the food here before, but the experience matters just as much as the food.

We ordered the Kimchi & Bacon Fried Rice, a Poke Salmon Bento Box, a Philadelphia Roll, and a Dragon Roll. The fried rice was fantastic, but the kimchi was easily my favorite part. It brought just the right amount of tang and spice that made every bite better. Now for my personal breakthrough... Growing up, I was never much of a seafood person. My partner has been slowly introducing me to sushi, and this dinner felt like another milestone. The Philadelphia Roll confirmed that I'm definitely a salmon fan, and the Dragon Roll introduced me to eel... which turns out I also really like. It's always fun when a meal changes your mind about something you've avoided for years. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and another huge bonus was simply finding a great restaurant in Poway that stays open later than most places. Sometimes that's exactly what you need after a long day. We definitely ordered more food than we could finish, but that's just another excuse to come back. Looking forward to trying even more of the menu next time.

We ordered Chicken Red Curry spice level 4. This was more like an 8!!! This was super spicy that it was a little difficult to eat. The fact that they charge for white rice, is insane. You can't eat curry by itself so I was surprised that we were charged for it. We also ordered Chicken Larb, which was good, veggies were fresh. The third dish was the Drunken Noodles with tofu. The noodles weren't as fresh as I would've liked. It didn't have that bouncy texture. Instead it was soggy and sad. This was also a level 4 spice and this was also super spicy. I tried the Lemon Thai tea, which is basically like a Thai iced tea without the milk and more tart. Instead of lemon, they had lime. I guess they ran out of lemons. We also had the mango sticky rice, which was pretty good. Rice was the right amount of sweetness and mangos were soft and ripe. Food came out super fast and service was friendly. Kinda pricey for the food we got at 91 dollars. Didn't know about the already included tip, which is not advertised like some other Yelpers pointed out. There's so many other great Thai restaurants in SD. This was just okay for me.
