    Chicken Satay (Sa-Te')
    Tracy D.

Tiny restaurant that gets busy. Super clean and staff was quick and friendly. My favorite dish was the Penang curry. Great flavors. The pineapple fried rice was okay. Not much flavors. The pad Thai was a little too citrus-flavored for some reason. The chicken sate was good; chicken was very tender and the peanut sauce was not overpowering.

Tucked in a strip mall in Rancho Bernardo sits Charm Thai Kitchen, a casual Thai restaurant. With seating indoor and outdoor, its relatively a small restaurant but the wait is not long at all. For starters, we ordered the Larb Gai which was great with its sour and distinct taste, great way to start the meal. For the mains, we ordered the Chow Mein Noodle with generous amounts of chicken and shrimp, great noodle dish. Chicken Pad Thai which is always a must when craving Thai. Loved this and tasted as expected. The Crab Fried Rice was a standout to me as you can really taste the crab come through on every bite. I would order this again in a heartbeat. For Curry, I just had to try the Panang Curry and I just love that coconut base as it covers the rice. Great dish for all the Panang Curry fans. Service was great and the food came out fast. Overall a wonderful spot for Thai cuisine serving fresh and high quality ingredients.

We love going to Charm Thai Kitchen. They have very fresh and tasty options! One of us is Gluten Free and Celiac and has no problem finding amazing dishes. Our favorites are Cashew Wok Chicken, Mango Garlic Chicken, white rice, Fresh Rolls with peanut sauce and plum sauce. They will accommodate most sensitivities or allergies. A wonderful hidden gem in Rancho Bernardo.

Food 5/5 Can't go wrong here, it is a little spicy but you can adjust the spicy levels! Service 10/5 The people who work here are extremely kind and accommodating they were quick to take my order and quick to prepare the food! Ambiance: 4/5 It is nice inside, I would say it is a perfect spot if you are craving some thai food or for a chill date! Accessibility: It is a bit hard to get to the bathroom but other than that the business is accessible

    Drunken Noodles (4/5) -- take-away at home

We wanted take-away Thai food for dinner this evening ... and we wanted delivery. So ... we found Charm Thai Kitchen through DoorDash. Glad we did ... on both counts. Our take-away dinner included two of our favorite Thai dishes: Green Curry with Pork and Brown Rice (4/5 $16.95); Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with Pork (4/5 $16.95). Both dishes had generous amounts of sliced pork. Dinner arrived hot at the early end of our ETA.

This place is amazing and so delicious it's located in a little plaza near rancho bernardo and I genuinely consider it a hidden gem. I've had Pad thai and ze ew all over san diego and the one at this place is actually comparable to one of the most popular places we have here it's so delectable! Service was amazing and they have the most kind waiters and hosts they are truly so kind and helpful. Ambiance is also lovely with a small dining area and they play mukbang s and food prep in the background which is so perfect for someone who likes to watch while they eat! Highly recommend coming here and trying their ze ew!

Another great lunch at Charm Thai. I tried their Thai Green Curry with tofu for the first time and it was yummy! Level 6 was particularly spicy on Friday, but I had to finish it! Their lunch special comes with edamame and a fried veggie roll. I also ordered the fresh tofu spring roll as an appetizer. Their peanut sauce is delicious. Service is also great. They seated us quickly and had altogether the time to sit and eat didn't take long for a Friday.

The food here is solid, and go here during lunch hours on Monday through Friday for their specials that are budget friendly. Start off with their free edamame and be sure to check-in on Yelp for a free Thai iced tea (normally $4) which is creamy, sweet, and addictive, 5/5 stars! Also, for more layers of flavor and spice, ask for a side of their chili condiments. House made fish sauce, chili and chili powder. 9/07/2024. Choo Chee Salmon ($18.95): perfectly cooked salmon and veggies. Curry was mildly flavored with a hint of spice, 4.5/5 stars. Panang Curry with Chicken ($13.95): creamy sweet & spicy curry with plenty of veggies & chicken, 4/5 stars. 6/17/2024. 3 pcs fresh tofu roll ($4.25) from their Monday - Friday secret lunch menu. Added $3.25 for 3 pcs of chicken pot stickers from their Monday - Friday secret lunch menu. Added $3.25 for 2 pcs of vegetarian fried roll from their Monday - Friday secret lunch menu. Gaprao with chicken at 8/10 spice level ($11.95) from their Monday - Friday lunch special, 5/5 stars! Chicken Pad Thai ($11.95) from their Monday - Friday lunch special, 4/5 stars. The food comes out fast and hot! The servers are just as quick... and hot =)

    Bowl of Tom Kha Soup

I ordered off Uber eats for lunch today so my review will be strictly based on the food. I felt a bit under the weather so I ordered myself a tom kha and panang curry. Unfortunately both dishes fell a bit short for me. Tom Kha: Portion size was great. I ordered a 5 in spice level expecting it to be moderately spicy since Thai restaurants usually don't mess with heat but this had an extremely mild heat. The shrimp I got as the protein was overcooked and rubbery. I love onion but this came overwhelmed with thick onions. 6/10 Panang curry: Portion size was great. The consistency was too watery for my liking. Barely any heat in the curry (level 5). The beef was also overcooked and very chewy. The bits of broccoli were my favorite. The rice was cooked perfectly. 6/10 If I were to come again, I'd go to the actual restaurant. I'm betting my proteins became overcooked because I opted for delivery instead of eating in. I'd up the spice level to a 8 (which seems daring for Thai) to get some of the heat I desired. Lastly, I'd opt for a noodle dish instead of a curry. 6/10.

Very disappointed, been coming here for years and always had great taste and flavor! This was the most bland Thai I have ever had! Something changed idk what but very sad...

We were lucky and were able to grab the spot right out front. For drinks we each ordered a cocktail. We ordered 4 dishes to share, the wasabi scallop ceviche, crispy baby crab, braised beef panang, and crab fried rice. The ceviche was definitely one of my favorites. Super flavorful, fresh, with the perfect amount of wasabi. The crispy baby crab was savory and easy to eat, especially since you're eating the whole crab, shell and all. The curry in the braised beef panang was so addicting, I couldn't stop eating it. The crab fried rice was tasty and filling. For dessert we got the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were fresh and sweet. Overall pretty standard but still yummy. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. All the food came out in the timely manner. The vibe of the restaurant is casual but can be a little dressy for a nice date. Overall I definitely recommend a try here. Beautiful presentation with all the food and drinks while still being delicious.

Place is quite dim, decor is beautiful with real plants, & some local vendor items for sale by the entrance. We ordered the sausage fried rice and the chef special basil stir-fry with crispy pork (also comes with a side of white rice). My friend and I loved the crispiness of the pork! And the way that egg was fried is one of my favorite ways of it being cooked. It made me want to order an extra egg. But other than that the sausage fried rice was also delicious. The sausage was very tender, slightly sweet but not like Chinese sausage style. I definitely loved the way it tastes. We had to ask for some spice on the side because I just knew both dishes will tastes better with some kick. I'll come back again just to try some of their curry dishes. I got us a beautiful Airbnb right next to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Girls School (mind out of the gutter, please). It's gorgeous, but we didn't know where to eat. I did a quick Yelp Search; thank you, Yelpers! I found this place. It was only a stone's throw from where we are staying, which is a beautiful little neighborhood! I was very hungry for some reason, probably from all the moving and lifting of boxes, but we came here. I had the Garlic Pepper w/tofu stir fry, and my husband had the lo mein with mock duck. For an appetizer, we had the tofu spring rolls! DELISH. Becky, our gracious server, was wonderful and was kind enough to break out our bill. I had two Chardonnay nays (Martin reference), which were only $ 10.00 each- good wine and cheaper than that current white wine at the Whistle Stop. My dish was very good. I love the crispy broccoli, and they put some type of cabbage slaw mixed with the sauce in it, which was incredible. My husband loved his lo mein.
