I was really disappointed with Lumpia House. Given the name Lumpia House, I was really looking forward to some delicious lumpia but it just wasn't very good. In fact, I was ambitious and ordered way more than I should have for myself because I was so excited for it. It was a mistake and I struggled to finish them. My favorite Lumpia is still from Kristy's in Mira Mesa which is no more. :( I also wanted to get some pancit but they said they hadn't cooked it yet. Came here on the weekend to pick up an order of the lumpia and chicken skin chicharon. I was surprised to see how clean this restaurant was that is easy to get in and out of depending on what time you visit service was excellent and pricing is very reasonable. Although I did not stay to try the additional food offerings of cooked entrées - I look forward to coming again. The living in San Diego and having a large Filipino presence it is difficult to find places that offer good food excellent value and a clean place to actually enjoy your meal this is a rare gem that must be tried. I was concerned about having to pick up an order of lumpia because it may be soggy by the time it got to our destination however the quality was perfect it was not overcooked it wasn't drenched I was very surprised. They are not skimpy. they provide the additional sauces with purchases and bags when needed I will definitely be back again. I was recommended to check out Lumpia House from my coworkers and wow do they not disappoint. This place has been one of my favorite Filipino restaurants in the north county region. Yes, we will travel miles to get to our favorite locations. Anyway, they offer catering through phone orders as well as in-person, entree-plate meal options, as well as a la carte options. Menu items vary daily but if you ever have the chance, you MUST get their pancit and lumpia. I know that those are the basic of choices but those are our favorites. When they do have any sisig (lechon/pork) or salt and pepper wings, you gotta get those. They run out pretty quickly as those are popular menu items and usually are super fresh around lunch time. That's also one of the more popular times people come by Lumpia House. Since the start of the COVID pandemic, they have converted their dining area to house more products (toilet paper, paper towels, goods, you name it) since a lot of the community couldn't find it. Also it helps their business out as well. That's actually pretty cool and I know where to go if the stores nearest me have no inventory - also I can just grab some good food too haha. Win win situation right there. Parking can be a bit of a pain depending on what time you arrive as the center is small and they share parking with other businesses such as the Floaties school. If you know what you want and want to grab stuff before they run out (even with their other goods, give them a call to place an order. For holidays, expect at least a 2 week advance pre-order if you want some catered items, or do a walk in and pray they still have what you want. They are closed on some holidays as well as Mondays so definitely call ahead just in case. Portions are overflowing and prices are inexpensive. Some of the best sisig we have ever had. Dropped by the Lumpia House to pick up a quick order of lumpia as a quick snack since I wanted to try out the place. The location is across the street from the Poway County Library in a strip mall. Lumpia house is a small Filipino grocery store with other Asian snacks and has a selection of premade food. We ended up getting a dozen of Shanghai style meat lumpia for $10. The city of Poway had an issue with their water, so many of the businesses had to close down for close to two weeks. The city's guidance to Poway residents and businesses was to boil your tap water before drinking, so I'm sure that caused trepidation and reluctance for consumers to eat at Poway restaurants. Many of the businesses chose to close due to the water issue. After hearing that the water restriction was lifted, I decided to find a Poway restaurant to support on Sunday. Since I had a Filipino food craving, I selected Lumpia House to support them. Lumpia House is located east on Poway Road just before Community Road. It's within a small strip mall next to Goodwill. I asked the lady behind the counter when Lumpia House reopened and was told that they had reopened on Saturday. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and I was the only customer for a little while. Lumpia House is a small restaurant with approximately 5 tables for seating. It was a clean restaurant. There was a television that was showing a movie. Lumpia House sells an array of Filipino snacks and grocery items neatly organized on bakers racks and refrigerators. The employee behind the counter wasn't too attentive to customers who walked in, as I had to let her know that a customer was waiting. Based on the food I purchased, I would say my rating is between 2.5 and 3 stars. Lumpia House is like typical Filipino turo turo restaurants, which means you select food choices from a hot food line. The 2-item combo price of $8.99 was pricey for the amount of food you actually was served. I arrived at Lumpia House at around 1pm, but when I asked whether they had sisig, I was told that they had sold out early. Sisig is a popular dish, so they shouldn't be running out one hour from the peak lunch time of 12pm. That means, they should cook more if it's popular. For my 2-item combo, I chose longanisa, which is a Filipino sausage, and dinuguan, which is pig's blood with meat. I decided on white rice instead of pancit because white rice and dinuguan complement each other. I was disappointed in how many sausages you get with the 2-item combo, which was a measly two sausages. Besides the minimal quantity of sausages, the longanisa was cold, so that made eating them less appetizing. I ate all of the dinuguan, but it wasn't as tasty as other dinuguan dishes I've had at Filipino restaurants throughout San Diego. I wasn't even offered complimentary soup, which is what I'm accustomed to whenever I visit other Filipino restaurants. I had high hopes for Lumpia House since there aren't many Filipino restaurants where I live, but I was disappointed. I'm glad I was able to support a Poway business after I'm sure they lost money during the water issue. There were issues with my first visit to Lumpia House and the food was okay, but I'd give it another try just to taste their sisig and kare kare. I used Lumpia House to cater a luncheon for my friend and was pleasantly surprised. Not only were they friendly and patient, they were very accommodating. I had called to get the details on prices and was told I could call the day before the lunch to place my order, which I did. Nice to have a Filipino restaurant much closer to home so I don't have to drive out to National City or Mira Mesa. My hubby picked up some a la carte items for dinner one night when I was too lazy to cook and it hit the spot and then some. My co-habby was a fan of their lumpia while I enjoyed the adobo and pancit. Pretty standard fare for the most part but still very tasty. My co-worker who never had Filipino food before was in for a treat when I brought her a to-go container as a thank you for helping me with a deadline. After tentatively trying the dishes, she quips, "Yep! I'm a fan! When are you going back there??" LOL! Okay this is the first time I spotted this tiny little philipino joint & I drive past this quaint shopping center all the time literally minimum 15 to 20 times a week. How blind can I be. It's in between a cleaners and some random shop to the left. From pomerado road it is tucked behind the view of the lovely mobile station if heading north, almost impossible to spot from the street. None the less when I spotted it I knew I had to try it. Combo prices were simple: 1 item $6.99, 2 item $8.99, 3 item approx $11.99 I can't fully remember the price of the 3 item because literally it's enough food for 2 people easy. The 2 item combo I got was enough for me to gorge myself and still have lunch for two more days. I got pancit, but they have the option for rice or 1/2 of each. The pancit was average not too much flavor but still decent. The chicken adobo was not great; sauce was amazing, chicken was too dry. The lumpia was delicious and if you want to buy it alone they sell a dozen for 5 bucks :) Next time I will try the garlic chicken it seamed to be what everyone else was picking up. I wasn't up on the secret and didn't have the craving at the time. Service is okay, I've only been in twice and the lady working hasn't been too friendly or hospitable. Today I ordered the 2 item combo with longanisa & vegetable dish w/ coconut milk (not sure of the name) and paid $14.55... Which to me, that was very pricey for a 2 item combo & only 2 sausage links were given. On the plus side, It is nice that there is a Filipino grocery in there as well so you can pick up additional food items. Parking is decent, it's located in a small shopping center so depending on what time you go- may be packed & hard to find parking. With this being my 2nd time here, I haven't had an issue with parking. Overall, I like this place but have to give it 3 stars due to service & pricing. The food here is authentic and excellent. The Longonisa sausage is really good with the white rice. The lumpia is obviously also really good. The day I went, they also had some dumplings that were really good on their own. Lastly, I couldn't leave without trying the chicken adobo. All of their menu items are available for catering. You can place order for 50 and 100 lumpia to take to work. You can also order pans of pancit to accompany the lumpia. The reason i didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the seating options. Basically plain tables inside a grocery store which I think takes away from the experience. Will definitely be back, but will take food to go this time. read more

When this place opens, I frequently visit them to buy lumpia and chicharon. I even recall on occasions where I would buy a box of lumpia for me to bring to family events or office get togethers. I didn't understand when they made white meat adobo, but I appreciate the attempt to be a little bit more healthy! ha ha. Otherwise, their food is delicious. The girl that works the counter is friendly and answers all questions. The groceries are assorted and t their combos are delicious. The downside is, they usually have only one poor old lady minding the store. She's a cook and at the cash register at the same time so the line at lunch time is quite slow and if you have diabetes you have to bring some crackers coz you might have hypoglycemia at the line : ) ! read more
