This place is fantastic! I eat here 2-3 times per month and I've never had a bad meal. Food is very authentic, staff are friendly but efficient, and it's often quite busy. Luckily they expanded a bit a few years back and it's rare to have to wait to be seated. My personal favorites are the burrito, the fajitas, and of course the Margaritas. It's family owned and operated and that shines through by the pride in everything that's done. I highly recommend Luna Azul, you won't be disappointed. read more

Today, we discovered that the former Mexican restaurant in this location has been replaced by this gem!! The "blue moon" decor was fun and gave the place a cozy ambiance. Service was efficient and very friendly. Menu is quite extensive. Our table had enchiladas and chicken fajitas from the lunch menu on the back. Portions were very satisfying. A full bar is available, so on our next visit we will be sure to have one of their signature margaritas! Just had lunch at the newly established Alina Azul, formerly San Jose's in Leesburg. The owners have refurbished the interior and is very pretty, a little more modern Mexican decor. The menu has been updated and revised. It has a wide variety of choices and the price is very reasonable. We had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch with a beautiful sangria to top it off. We have lived on the Villages area for twenty five years and were never fully satisfied with available Mexican resturants but this was 100 percent. After a long day, we weren't in the mood to cook so we headed to nearby Luna Azul, a Mexican restaurant in Leesburg which turned out to be a lot better than expected. Never judge a book by its cover as the old saying goes and this place is no exception located as it is in a fairly unappealing strip mall populated by discount stores. The interior isn't fancy, but it's clean and the lighting inside is really quite beautiful. We were seated quickly and given a complimentary bowl of tortilla chips and salsa, both of which were fresh and tasty. Our son had a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup which he enjoyed even if it wasn't the best he's ever had. Again, the word fresh popped up as he described it. Both my husband and son had differing versions of a chicken burrito which were massive with fresh tasty ingredients. I had fish tacos, with rice and beans on the side. The rice was soft, fluffy and flavorful. The beans were also quite good. The only real disappointment of the evening was the tilapia tacos. They were tiny with hardly any ingredients and had no taste whatsoever. However, given the promptness of service and the fact that the rest of the meal was good, we will definitely be back. read more

I love eating at Luna Azul. The staff is always so friendly and the food always delicious. When the weather is nice, I enjoy eating in their outdoor seating area under the trees; very relaxing. I usually get their pork tamales, which are wonderful, but I've also gotten their tacos and they were really good as well. My good friend is a vegetarian is he enjoys their cactus options, I've not tried it, but he says they're great. Another good thing I've had is there pork carnitas. Come to think of it, I've eaten a lot of different things there and they've all been fabulous. This is the go-to place for my work buddies and me. Great restaurant for lunch. 14 members of a local men's club has a monthly get together and Luna Azul provides a nice venue for our group. They were very accommodating to give us a semi-private space and separate checks was not a problem. This is our second get-together at Luna Azul and the group already plans to be back next month. Larissa our server did a wonderful job tending to the large group and we had visits from the manager and the owner. Highly recommend the food and service. read more
