I was here a month ago to drop off two bags of clothing for a trade in/store credit. Got a call the next day to pick up my bags. I thought to myself.. wow, that was quick. Come to find out they ended up not taking anything. I was pretty disappointed because a lot of my clothing were brand names...some not worn once. Anyway, I get home put the bags away in the closet. Two weeks goes by and it's still bothering me so finally I go through both bags and I find that 3 of my favorite blouse were missing along w/ my one of my jeans and a T-shirts. I was so upset!! I just want to drive out there go through their racks and take back what's mines. I didn't call to make a complaint because it's been 2 long..didn't want to drive back because I live 45 mins away. Im SO ANGRY. So I don't recommend anyone trading clothing there. If you do...be cautious. read more

I had a great experience here. I came in looking to sell some clothes and Jackie helped me out. Since I was looking to complete the transaction right away, I opted to take store credit as compensation for any items Luna blu decided to take. Taking store credit gave me 50% of the retail value of the clothes and it never expires. If you decide to take the cash instead, you'll get 35% of the retail value and have to leave your items overnight and pick up any unwanted clothes and your cash the following day. I took in 2 full shopping bags of clothes and they decided to purchase 4 items - mostly the few vintage items I had. I was issued a credit for $57 which was great! While she was looking over my items I was busy perusing the racks for some "new to me" looks. They have a great selection of newer and vintage clothes and accessories. I was a little surprised at the pricing on some of the items. Some items seemed very reasonable while others seemed very overpriced. I also noticed a few pieces that had noticeable stains. If you're looked for a great coat you must see some of the stuff hung on the walls - fabulous!! Overall, great selection no matter what your style is and just a great vibe in this place. Cute shop...so i was hopeful. Some of the merchandise looked worn and tried. I realize that it is a used clothing store but some of the clothes and shoes looked too used. The place had great potential I suggest the staff member who is doing the filtering and selecting of in coming consignments needs to tighten up. read more

I happened upon this place while walking around with my boyfriend. I love these kinds of places, so I went in and checked it out. At first it seemed like the prices for a lot of items were still pricy, but if you know your brands, you'll find that a lot of the items are designer, so $40 for a slightly used Sparrow sweater from Anthropologie is an ok price. I got a cute scarf, and I plan on coming back here when my bf lives in Monterey full time! read more

Came upon Luna Blu quite by accident while looking for probably a Starbucks or something as inaquous as that and how refreshing to find gently used clothes both men's and women's that were so appealing and on trend that you just wanted to spend that coffee money here instead of there...added to that delight was our host Elisabeth whose easy charm and genuine humor had us wanting to buy even more which was made especially simple knowing Elisabeth had our best interest at heart...it's not today's sale that makes the business successful but rather the next the next and the next ... and of course that WORD OF MOUTH. I was in Monterey for a few days, and walked by Luna BLU one evening after it was closed. I saw a cardigan in the window that I just fell in love with! I called them the next morning, and after a few back-and-forths, they agreed to ship it to me in Sonoma County for $6 extra! It ended up costing them more than that, so they lost money on me - but I am so appreciative and impressed that they took the time to ship me a piece of clothing. The staff is nice and helpful. The owner seems flaky. I left stuff on hangers so she missed my drop off for several days. I was told to put it in bags. The buying is very inconsistent . My stuff was very nice and fit in well but she didn't take anything. I picked up my bags and the clothes were stuffed back in and VERY wrinkled. How rude. It took me several hours to get it looking nice again. They had some cute stuff but not enough for me to EVER go back. read more

I love the new look of the store but, to my dismay (and even against what I said in my old review!) the service has really fallen. Over the past couple years since the remodel I've come in a few times here and there, and each time the woman who works there (the owner?) doesn't even say hi. I almost question whether I should walk around louder because maybe she didn't hear me? (I've tried that, it doesn't make a difference BTW). Makes me really uncomfortable. I also have noticed the clothes are arranged by color which makes it pretty much impossible to find anything your size. I get it, it's a look, but it's not user friendly. I love hunting for a unique piece, but that's just way too much work, even for me. read more

This is THE place to shop. I found it, after moving from Berlin to Monterey. And it is the only location with authentic european vibes. The owner has a design background and picks only the best of the best. Diane von Fuerstenburg, Prada, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Free People, Splendid, Burberry just to name a few. She sells clothes , accessories, purses, shoes and I liked, that she has a great selection of Men's fashion to. The shop is stylish, well organized and clean. TheTrade policy is vendor-friendly. No appointment needed, just stop by and drop of your items. You don't have to wait until it sells, you get store-credit or a check usually the next day. The shop has survived 16 years. I passed by this shop and decided to visit it for the first time. I found a bag and the price tag I found inside the bag was $89. I thought it was a good deal and went to the front to ring it up. Another customer was in front of me, and her transaction took a while. While waiting in line, I took out the price tag from the bag, thinking that it would facilitate the transaction to save me some time. When it was finally my turn to pay for the bag, the girl told me that I should not have taken out the price tag, and treated me like a criminal. She had to verify with her boss that the bag was really $89. So we waited for her boss to text back and the bag was actually $129. Then she was even more convinced that I swapped the price tag. I told her I took the price tag out right in front of her when I was in line, but she would not believe me. There was no sign anywhere in the store saying that you should not take the price tag out of the bag yourself. I feel really wronged. And also the bag is a good deal if it is truly $89, but I would never buy it for $129. You can get a new one at that price when it is on sale. The store should put up a sigh regarding their rules. Instead, they decide to treat their first-time customer like a criminal. I would not go there again. read more

Love Luna Blu, but I went to sell some clothes and when I got back what they didn't want my items were sloppily thrown in a bag. Shirts, shoes, jewelry, dresses... There was some nice garments that where carelessly jammed back in the bag. It was disappointing and I felt slightly offended having taken the time to wash, press, and fold the items before taking them there. read more

Luna Blu is a used/retro clothing shop off of Alverado that carries mens' and womens' clothing, hats and shoes. It's a pretty well maintained shop, with vibrant decor and style, and the prices are usually pretty fair. You can also sell and trade your own clothes to the shop, but I don't have any experience with that. I buy a good portion of my clothes here, and if you're into different (and modestly priced) clothes, Luna Blu is for you. read more

Luna Blu is the best consignment and resale store I've found on the Monterey Peninsula, though it doesn't quite measure up to the SF Bay Area or even SLO County. Ditzy staff are usually busier checking their texts than actually helping out customers, but I'd rather be left along to paw through the racks on my own anyway. Evenly split selection for guys and girls. Best finds: designer handbags, hats, sweaters & jackets. Sizes run toward the smaller end of the spectrum, especially in jeans and shoes. In town from Vancouver and tripped upon this wonderful find. Expertly curated and staffed with competent and professional, but warm and stylish staff, I scored a sophisticated chic Alexander McQueen dress and there was a sale on too! The jewelry, accessories and home furnishing are sublime and unusual- wish I had more room in my luggage for the pottery and vintage carpets. Almost reluctant to share this tip but a store that made my day deserves it! read more

This is my favorite consignment store in the Monterey area. They have great brands that are really affordable and you never know what you are going to find. Also, I think they are one of the only one to sell men's clothing. It is always hip, current and well organized. read more

Really cool shop with a lot of great vintage items. The super cute girl working there was so sweet and kind, and greeted me with a huge smile when I walked in.
