"Are you the party with the largest order we've ever received?" "Yes, that's us, we're 10 ladies!" This was the perfect way to end a holiday weekend, lots of pancakes, waffles, country breakfasts, bacon, & hashbrown orders. Everyone was stuffed by the end of our meal and I even got to save my chocolate chip muffins for the drive back home. I thought I was making a mistake by saving the pancakes, but these pancakes lasted from brunch until our mid-drive snack a few hours later. Would definitely recommend this eatery when you're in town next!

Homemade corn beef hash and french toast with real maple syrup!

Stopped here after going to a concert and camping at the Trumansburg fairground. This was right down the street and was a great option. I'm not sure why the reviews weren't better. We were able to sit wherever we wanted, service was fast, fantastic, and friendly, and the place was relatively crowded, but not overly crowded. The food was served extremely quickly. It was a great experience and really cutely decorated. I ordered a slice of French toast with real maple syrup which they served a generous amount of and their homemade corned beef hash. It was really good, though the corned beef hash was pretty greasy. My partner got eggs, bacon, hash browns, and homemade toast which he enjoyed, I definitely liked their hash browns! Bathrooms were clean. Really great service! I recommend it for breakfast, never went for another meal.

Stopped by during a road trip around Cayuga Lake. I had the Tully Burger with fries and I thought it was great! I wasn't expecting much but it wasn't overwhelmingly oily and the veggies were fresh (Tully Burger is cheeseburger with mayo and the usual works); great prices across the board for sure This spot is serving indoors during Covid - it seemed a bit daunting to go in, because it is not outdoor seating, but the servers are wearing masks and the tables are clean, fairly far apart. Cute decorations and antiques

We were happy they are open for lunch. We rushed back from Ithaca on a Tuesday and enjoyed a lovely socially distanced meal indoors. Thanks guys!

    Grilled cheese and chicken fingers

I was ecstatic at the low prices, the most realistic I've seen for tavern food... But it came at the price of quality. The chicken fingers and fries were very bland. There were no sauces offered and the fries weren't salted. All I tasted was black pepper on the chicken. The grilled cheese was sort of rubbery. It looked like they had a bread-sized block of cheese and sliced off a 1/4in slice and put that on the bread, but it was only half melted. But again, only a couple dollars and was buttery for flavor. It's an easy place to take kids, but I'd be embarrassed to go there on a date.

    Large Portions, Great biscuits!

Service is very slow to recognise new customers arriving or offering a seat. Quite a few tables available but not cleaned off.

Super cute spot with lots of unique cider options and great cornbread/desserts!…read more We tried the Funkhouse, Sparkling Cab Franc, Fruit of the Bloom, and Persici (in order from dry to sweet). My favorites were the Fruit of the Bloom which is infused with ginger as well as the Funkhouse. I liked how crisp the funkhouse was and I loved the ginger note in fruit of the bloom. The others were okyay too, persici was very sweet but paired nicely with the ginger hazelnut baklava which was incredible! I am allergic to pistachios, so I loved that I could eat their baklava! We also tried the cornbread with strawberry and jalapeno butter- absolutely incredible. I am from the south and have had a lot of cornbread but this truly stands out. It came out warm with a slight crunch from the crust while maintaining the perfect crumb inside. Just crumbly enough and not too try! I also really enjoyed the jalapeno and strawberry butters- you can tell they use high quality butter, they almost reminded me of goat cheese. I preferred the jalapeno butter a tad more but both were great! The exterior is beautiful- the views are very nice. I would highly recommend coming on a warm day and sitting outside. We initially sat on the balcony but moved due to the bees. The tables underneath the white tent were shaded and bee-free. Service was pretty quick- our ciders came out almost immediately. We had to wait ~10-15 minutes for the cornbread though, but I didn't mind especially given it was warm! Overall, I would highly recommend!

Salad bar is pretty good, but as a short person I had trouble reaching the things in the back and it was unclear whether it was ok to walk around the other side since there's a register there and it felt more like an employee area. All the salad bar things are kept under covers. This keeps things fresh and cold (or hot), but can be hard to tell what the options are since nothing is labeled. Pizza and garlic knots are included with the salad bar. Pizza is thin-crust. There was a garlic white sauce pizza that I enjoyed. The pepperoni was decent, not mind-blowing but I'd eat it again. The garlic knots were my favorite - basically drowning in butter and extreme amounts of garlic with a good fluffy rise on the bread which is exactly what I think they should be. Mmmm garlic knots. The water is awful and un-drinkable though so if you're a water person like I am, be aware you will want to order something to drink. Pasta is not available until after 4pm; the reason is that it is made fresh. That's a darn good reason to me, so we came back for dinner. My fettuccini had excellent flavor although the pasta was about two minutes shy of where I would like it cooked to and there were quite a few noodles clumping together. I really enjoyed the parmesan-forward sauce. Portions are good and this made a great lunch for me the next day too. Overall, food is okay, atmosphere is good, service is great.

We found the Elf in the Oak on Yelp and once we saw the menu, we knew we had to give it a try. The Elf in the Oak is nestled on Rt 414. If you're not actively using a GPS, you may pass it by. It's not a large place by any means, but there's more than enough seating indoors and out. We went on a Friday morning, so there wasn't a wait and we received our food quickly. We both wanted 'the Spicy' and I have to admit, it's one of the best egg sandwiches I've ever had, which is high praise coming from someone who once worked at a popular bagel joint on Long Island. If we lived locally, we'd definitely go back, but I hope if you're looking for a quick casual brunch place to grab a bite, you consider visiting the Elf In The Oak.

The schnitzel sandwich was also very good. The fries, at $8 as a side were not worth it, I would have rather ordered another sandwich than got two sides of fries. The chips were also almost flavorless, except that of 99% fresh oil. The kids grilled cheese was American cheese, and thus, imho, was not very good. One of my kids took a bite and didn't like it either. Ambiance: simple, nice view of the lake. Service: friendly staff. Tl;DR: I'll be back, but won't order sides or the grilled cheese.
