Honestly I've never actually gone through the annoyance of writing a review and always try to give restaurants understanding if service is bad since I was a server and I know some days can be rough but this place has TERRIBLE customer service we felt so out of place and it's not nearly nice enough to be making ppl feel out of place. We were super hungry and this happened to be the one of the only places that was open as outrages as the prices were the only other restaurant open a bistro was a bit more expensive so we settled here to get a bite and relax. Me my husband and our one year old who is honestly very chill and was happy to be out of the car; we went in and already is felt kind of awkward like we were wanted there the man that sat us seemed annoyed by us immediately annoyed to bring a chair for baby and annoyed when I asked where the restroom was. Our waiter quite honestly sucked he got our drinks and then when he came back it felt like he was rushing us to order He then took our menus my husband asked if we could keep one in case we wanted something else we just got a pizza to share and the guy begrudgingly set it down. They had fake candles so I plonked it out so baby could look at it and we gave her the little cup she was being very careful and gentle and we were watching her too the bus boy man literally came and pulled it out of her hands which I have literally never ever seen server bussers or mangers ever ever do that we were so shocked including baby that we all just stared at him ( I understand maybe he thought she'd grabbed it and we didn't notice and he was helping or if they thought she'd break but fact is people tell the parents do not ever ever take something from a child that is not dangerous if their parent is right there and you can just tell the parent to take it.) So that started us officially feeling uncomfortable we really should've left that moment but it was time for our babies dinner and again we were also very hungry so instead we asked if we could sit outside away from all the asshole workers. We moved outside which also seemed to bother the server. Baby was happier and we were able to relax a bit more. I kept seeing people receive bread and vinegar and oil and was wondering why we hadn't and just assumed maybe they'd asked for it but started thinking we were just not welcome because new customers would get sat and brought the bread. Whatever we got our pizza is was good since we were hungry we just enjoyed each-other and ate up. Server never came to check on us husband never got a refill on his coke never got us more water he never brought us napkins no salt or pepper My husband Poured the rest of his water in my cup cause I'd drank all mine and then the server came back to fill his water cup with the warm water that was sitting outside then quickly rushed back in before we could ask for the check seriously. Just fueling the fire of my irritation. Then he's finally coming to check on us I'm assuming cause he was walking to our table about to speak when some other couple shows up and yelled to him greeting him saying they came to see assuming their regulars instead of politely saying he'd be right with them in a moment he completely walks away from us again before we could ask for check and goes to chat then rushed back in 10 minutes later he's back out there bringing them bread and water and he was trying to rush back in for the third time when I finally had it and loudly said HI CAN WE GET THE CHECK PLEASE didn't even Turn to look at me said sure and walked inside Took 20 minutes to bring the check when he did my husband was ready with the card and the asswipe took it and went back in brought it back out after 10 minutes more and I was gonna write shit service but didn't. Honestly the service was so bad we almost left without paying and we literally could have cause we were completely ignored. It wasn't just the server the whole staff minus the cooks seemed shit. Sorry not sorry very rude never going back obviously not kid friendly I was so confused why they were so rude cause we were very quite and calm it's not like baby was running wild or screaming she was calm and just chilling and they could've just said that families are not welcome cause that's definitely how it felt. We live at lake Las Vegas and eat here all the time. So when it came time for our rehearsal dinner we wanted to have it here. The waiter (that waited on us many times) attacked me for asking for reservations on July 5, the day that Lake Las Vegas celebrates 4th of July. He said I can leave my number for the manager but she will rip it up as he ripped up a piece of paper in front of my face and told me not to come back again. I have never been treated like this as a customer and I think it is really sad to think he treats others like this that visit Lake Las Vegas. Weirdest reception I have received in a long time. I was hanging out waiting to be seated and several staff members hustled around me with no acknowledgement. Finally a nice man noticed me and summoned the maitre d (I am assuming) who came over and said "Can I help you?" Perhaps he did not know that women by themselves still needed to eat (I am trying not to judge here). After the initial awkwardness the experience got better. My actual server was fine. It was annoying that the Rose by the glass was not available. I ordered a calamari with pasta which was okay but by the end of the dish it felt a little one note and I think I may be spoiled by getting fresh squid off the boat where I live, so I was disappointed that the squid was likely frozen a bit rubbery. They do make a point of providing bread for the table with olive oil and vinegar which is always appreciated. I would also have liked them to turn up the lights a tad so I can see what I am doing. The owner of this restaurant is absolutely shameful! My fiancé, well behaved dog and I requested a table at Luna Rossa on the patio. She told us that we had to sit at a table in the rocks and that our dog had to stay in the rocks the whole time. Every table on their patio but one was available. We decided we would go to the restaurant next door. The waiter sits us, we order a bottle of wine and an appetizer. 15 minutes later the woman from the other restaurant comes to where we are sitting and tells the manager that we cannot be on the patio and demands that we are moved. The manager apologized and let's us know that the woman is part owner in both restaurants. Multiple tables and wait staff complemented how well behaved our dog was. Aside from my rant. Our waiter came over apologized and I reordered the dish without the hair and came out fine this time. Ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo w/ Black Truffles, but didn't get any truffles. I complained to the manager as she took only $7 off the bill bc of the missing truffles. I said I had a hair on my food and missing items. So disappointed with this restaurant and the customer service all the way up to the manager, Julia. My daughter and her friends had reservations there for senior prom. They were seated at a table on the patio that had bird poop on it. When they asked kindly to have it cleaned up the waiter simply put a napkin over the top of it in front of one of the kids. Completely understand that during patio seating there is no way to control natural elements... But do not understand why it simply could not be cleaned and sanitized. Then in the end we always decide to go to Luna Rossa. The service and food there are always consistently good. The view from the patio is of the lake and very beautiful. Was at Lake Las Vegas for a staff retreat today. My party and I decided to have lunch here. Food was amazing! The pizza was delicious! The cheese they use is to die for! Calamari was on point. Lightly breaded and crisp to perfection! That marinara sauce! Speechless! Chicken parm was amazing as well as the gnocchi. Definitely must try. Food itself could be 5 starts but customer service is a big factor when I rate a place We got there when they opened at 1130AM and they had a total of 3 tables that included ours. The other tables were also part of our retreat but we decided to dine in separate tables. Our table was the first to order yet it was the last to get our food. My salad and the calamari came with the two pastas which arrived about 15 minutes after our pizza! They also messed up on our pizza. We ordered half pepperoni and half Hawaiian. They gave us a full Hawaiian with pep on half the pizza. Um? That is not half and half. To top it off when I told the server he knew about and states he was already dealing with the chef. Um....if you knew about the issue you should have told us and asked if we still wanted the "messed" up pizza or what. Finally, getting the check and paying took another 20 mins. There are three head chefs, one is the main chef that oversees the others and they all come from high-end restaurants first in Italy and then the United States. The real deal! I was very happy with my service today. I came in today with my little Chihuahua and she was inside her own tote bag, she's my service dog and we where treated extremely well. It has a beautiful lake side view, out-door dinning with florescent lights..inside restaurant can get a little crowded due to size. This last dinning experience, im a little disappointed. Service wasn't as expected, did not greet us when we walked thru door. Made a reservation which we mentioned it was for a birthday, and would like a dessert since we were celebrating a special occasion. Not sure if they caught that we had a reservation but i did mention it when they seated us but they failed to do the request. They don't seem very attentive to reservations and requests. Didn't receive the dessert, i guess i was afraid to mention it since the waiter hovered over me during my meal.. instead we grabbed dessert next door at Rocky Mountain Chocolate store. Also, we were told we would have to wait for 2 hours to sit outside because there were "reservations" they were waiting for. We sat by the window and saw seats outside stay empty for over an hour and then people come and go. So not sure what happened there. We were looking for an Italian restaurant to eat dinner the first night in Lake Las Vegas, so we found Luna Rossa. This was some of the best Italian food and service I've ever had! I don't think rating on Yelp for this restaurant is proper, for me they deserved 5 stars! We ordered four cheese pizza and were absolutely delicious! Every bite was just as good as the last. Lobster pasta was just amazing!! Melts in your mouth with perfectly seasoned and cooked. Clams and mussels are so tasty and the sauce was so amazing too. The strawberry tiramisu is so good and make me can't stop eating them. They have very nice outdoor seating area with great atmosphere. Don't forget they also have amazing wine collection!!! Where have you been all my life. We really enjoyed our times spent there, it end up we went back to Luna Rossa 3 night continuously before we return to LA. I would strongly recommend this place to everyone. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. We had amazing times and I'm definitely going back, Grazie Luna Rossa! read more
