Delizioso! Walking through Venice, we saw this quaint restaurant to try for lunch. There is both outdoor and indoor seating. The staff could see we were awfully hot and suggested we sit in the room with the coldest ac, which we appreciated greatly! The flavors of the food were amazing! The papperdelle noodles were perfectly cooked and the pickled veggies were bursting with flavor in the appetizer. While we were there, we watched the gondolas cruise by in the serene canal. We wanted seafood for dinner after a couple meals of pasta and pizza. This is the perfect place for our last evening in Venice. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle, along the canal where romantic gondolas pass. The inside tables are rustic and cozy. Either inside or outside offer a romantic ambience for dates or simply a cozy atmosphere to be with friends and family. We were a party of 6, family. The food was simply made and delicious. We had fish of the day (seabream) that my dad loved. The Branzino was plainly pan fried, but we liked it. My son loved his cuttlefish ink pasta (first time trying it) and the pappardelle was also delicious. There is also a wine bar onsite that appears to be a part of the establishment. We paired our dinner with a bottle of local wine. They have an extensive wine list. If I live in Venice, I'd frequent this place and get a table outside watching the gondolas go by while sipping wine. Bonus - no cover charge that some restaurants in Venice charge. read more

I do not write 1-star reviews often. I take my Yelping seriously and do not joke around with what I publish about establishments. I know people depend on patrons and this is someone's livelihood... but in this instance, the owner needs to read and take this to heart. STARVING on afternoon around lunch, we stumbled upon this restaurant. We simply wanted a light lunch, a few glasses of wine and then to proceed with the rest of our day. We walked up and for a SOLID 10 minutes, staff whirled around us, intentionally avoiding eye contact. They literally physically pushed us out of their way (we were waiting at the host stand) without as much as a pardon. Maddening, we'll survive? No. FINALLY, we were rudely asked if we wanted to eat. The voice in my head immediately replied "no, we want to buy a horse..." but I withheld my rudeness. Yes, a table outside please. We were sat outside at a table near the water, delightful! What a view. 10+ more minutes... no menu, no silverware, no water, no waiter, no nothing. Finally, after being passed 25+ times, the waiter walks up and asks "are you here to eat and drink?". Again, me in my head withheld everything within me to not pop off some smart*** answer, but we agreed we would like some menus. 10 more minutes, a bottle of water is SLAMMED on our table, we were left to fill our own glasses. I dropped the money on the table for the water and we walked. Unacceptable. Never ate. Horrid service. I'd say I wish I could try it again but this was so bad, I'd starve over trying this restaurant twice. read more

Was in Venice on a work trip and our hotel recommended this restaurant. We were a little hesitant seeing that it wasn't your typical utopian restaurant but we ended up being blown away. Between having been served by the owner who so clearly was proud of his family owned restaurant to the cuddle ink pasta to the incredible wine list, it was all so amazing. Small intimate and incredible. If in Venice do come here for dinner. read more

I was so excited to have scallops as an appetizer, but they were surprisingly expensive and majorly disappointing! Thankfully the meal greatly improved with the steak dish and steamed fish, both of which came highly recommended by our server. The steamed fish was my fave of these two because it was so very fresh, and the veggies and olives were wonderful. Definitely get the raspberry dessert. The place is small and intimate, and that lead to awkward seating for us, right under the spot where servers picked up their food. It was fun to watch the open kitchen, but my husband had to sort of dodge out of the way. All of that said, the food was quite good, and very authentic in comparison to other touristy choices. I would recommend dining here, but be sure to secure a reservation! read more

Honestly the rudest service I have ever experienced in my life. They sat us and after an hour still never had a chance to order food. Finally my wife and I went in to ask about the situation and the man bun waiter put his hand in my wife's face. I kid you not he came so close to ending up in the canal that night its not even funny. The food may be great I don't know but there are way too many options in Venice to deal with service this poor. read more

This place is quite expensive (not unusual for venice) but it was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I shared a salad and the oyster pasta, both were extremely delicious. This restaurant was exactly what we needed in the flurries of classic pizza and pasta menus because it was so unique. The only thing that I was not sold on was the wait staff who I felt was slightly curt. Overall I would recommend this place for a romantic and inventive dinner for your night in Venice! read more

Good food at quite reasonable prices. The Singapore spring roles were very good. My chicken curry was good. My wife's pasta was good. The owner brought a bottle of grappa for us to taste at the end of the evening, no charge. Very nice. I'd come back. read more

A cozy restaurant with fabulous food - started with carpaccio, which I had never tried, not being a fan of raw meats - I am a convert now, the flavors were amazing. Also the local cheese plate had my dinner companions raiding my plate! The sea bass was done to perfection, would highly recommend. My husband and I went yesterday and waited over an hour to get service. When we arrived, the waiter suggested we wait at the wine bar while we waited for outside seating. After about 45 minutes, we asked the bar tender if we could order and he said yes. We moved to a different section at the bar where we waited another 30 minutes. After that a waiter came in to grab a drink and that's when they offered a spot at the main restaurant. The duck noodles were good, but the pesto pasta was a bit too salty. Inventive. Ermanno Sguoto told that he took the flavors which he experienced in places like Vietnam and Singapore and combined them with local ingredients much like Marco Polo did. The local seafood from the Venezia Lagoon cooked Vietnamese style in a pot was tasty with a mild spicy kick. My lamb was grilled just right. Quality of ingredients was excellent. This was the very best meal we had in Venice. The Sarda in Saor (Fresh Sardines cooked Venetian-style with sweet onions) were magnificient, and the Beef Carpaccio was without question the best I've ever had. My spinach pasta with really tasty shrimp popped off of the plate with incredibly fresh tomatoes and herbs that were not stewed our sauced but bright and beautiful. My wife had the monkfish which seemed poached and hacked into delightful bites served with a rich tomato sauce. Our dinner companions had the Venetian style calf's liver which was rich and cooked gently, not like most places. It truly melted on your tongue. The service was excellent, and the wine list was superlative. A good list of Sandinian wines, which I highly recommend; both red and white. Get a reservation, it's a small place, but really worth it. There is also a wine bar across the street owned by the same folks if you have to wait. I would say run, don't walk, but it's Venice. Stroll briskly and stay as long as you can. read more
