One of the best spots we found in Venice. Attentive service, friendly, multi lingual, and of course fabulous food. House wine both red and white are outstanding and a great deal.

This quaint restaurant just around the corner from our hotel Palazetto Madonna was amazing! Suggested by the hotel staff. Sergio and the rest of the staff were very friendly, attentive and went above and beyond to make the experience within the establishment wonderful. The food is cooked to order which may take longer from kitchen to table though worth the wait. And my after dinner drink was taken to a new level when I requested Zacapa XO. The waiter indicated he had something special and he did. I will never drink it another way back home. He took a glass filled it with boiling water, place rum into a sniffer glass then placed it on top to warm the rum. He included chards of dark chocolate to eat while sipping it. It was the highlight of my evening. I went back the next afternoon to have another. Thank you to Sergio for the warm hospitality. And thank you to the rest of the staff! When we visit Venezia we will be sure to drop back in. And Sergio look is up if you visit Chicago.

Visiting from California. Excellent service and awesome food! Some in our family have food allergies (gluten, dairy) and they were extremely accomadating. Had the Gnocchi with Crab. Amazing! Blue Lobster Linguini was equally great! Complimentary limoncello. Can't recommend enough.

To be honest, I was disappointed with the food at this place. It was recommended to me by a local, so I got my hopes up. The staff were all very friendly, but the taste of the food was just to fishy and seafoody for me. I love seafood, but the pastas that we ordered (lobster and clam) tasted like rotted ocean water. The caprese salad was nothing special and it was also missing basil. The sign says it opens at 6, but the earliest reservation they'll take is 6:45pm.

This was a strange dining experience. Lovely interior and clearly the establishment aspires to be great. But they miss the mark. The server insisted on dinner his way even though we made several pleas to simply go with our requests. For example we ordered a simple spaghetti dish for the well-behaved eight year old in our party. Even with the request to prepare it quickly it came with the adults' final course. The pasta dishes were excellent. The veal had to be returned. When asked for replacement silver or water glasses the staff didn't ever get it correctly. For the prices on the menu they should do better.

What makes this spot amazing is the people. We experienced such a warm, friendly vibe, not just from the owner and staff, but also from the other diners. It started with the waitress (maybe the owner's daughter?) stepping outside to welcome us with a friendly "pronto!" when she noticed us looking at the outdoor menu. Once we were seated, the owner came over and greeted us warmly, especially our 11-year-old daughter. The chef really gave her a special treat with the pizza she ordered: the "hawaiian" arrived looking like a cat, with the pizza dough shaped to form two ears and dried pasta for whiskers, etc. We felt so cared for! The other diners that night were a mix of visitors (foreign and Italian) and local Venetians. There was friendly banter (in Italian) between the tables, including ours, which felt very chummy. The food was good--meaning, it's totally what it should be. Fancy-food lovers might not be dazzled (I wouldn't call this food gourmet, or artisanal) but anyone looking for yummy, straightforward pizzas and pastas will be very content, as we were. This place felt like Venice's answer to Cheers (that bar in Boston) except that anyone walking by can get treated like Norm.

It was a short walk from the Palazzo Giovanelli. The food was delicious. I would go there again and again and again.

Rude waiters. Didn't even stay long enough to try the food. The ladies eating next to us said they undercooked the pasta. Do not eat here.

A combination of a thunderstorm and an early dinner meant the place was empty, but Marco and other staff welcomed us warmly all the same. We had the antipasti Parmigiana Di Melanzane (fried eggplant with cheese) and enjoyed the mains Pasta Al Forno (baked pasta with beef and peas), Pasta Con Le Polpette E Salsa Di Pomodoro (spaghetti with meatballs - not pictured), and Turbante Di Pesce Spada "A Beccafico" (baked swordfish). These were also with the Casa Rosso wine and Birra Siciliana beer both blonde and red. All food was superb. The fried eggplant was flavorful and fresh, and the bread was crispy and savory. The baked pasta was rich, the spaghetti and meatballs were nostalgic, and the swordfish was delectable. Safe to say we all cleared our plates easily. We wish nothing but the very best for Marco and his restaurant. This food was some of the best we had on our two week stay throughout Italy. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the amazing food made for a great experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestyle Sicilian meal.

From the moment we arrived, the owner, Marco, made us feel genuinely welcome. He explained that the food is Sicilian and quite different from what you typically find in Venice, which was exactly what we were hoping for after days of similar menus. The menu is short, focused, and built around family recipes. We ordered the pasta of the day, the roast beef, and the smoked salmon dish, and every single item was fantastic. To finish, we had limoncello made by Marco's mother, and it was absolutely delicious. What really made the evening special was Marco and his family. They were warm, kind, and genuinely happy to share their story with us. We loved hearing about his late father and the lasting impact he had on both the family and the restaurant. One of the most memorable parts of the night was joining in the restaurant tradition of coloring pictures and exchanging them with drawings already hanging on the ceiling. We ended up taking home a picture created by a family member, and it will be making the journey back with us to Carlsbad, California. Without a doubt, this was the best dining experience of our entire trip through Europe. Highly recommended!!

For dinner in peak season, try to make a reservation as the restaurant is very small. We arrived before our reservation time and were seated immediately inside and greeted warmly by the restaurant owner. We ordered a bottle of wine to start (most under 20 Euros for a 75 ML bottle). For appetizers we ordered the cheese with honey for 13 Euros, absolutely amazing! We also combined this with the local olive oil and fresh bread brought to the table to start as well. For our second course we chose two pastas, the Penne Alla Amatriciana (I think it was around 12 Euros), and the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara (I think it was around 12 Euros as well). Both had extremely fresh homemade ingredients and were out of this world and extreme attention to care in the preparation. For our entree we split the breaded pork chop (I think it was around 20 Euros), including a side of potatoes (similar to the steak fries that you would see in the U.S.) The service was absolutely amazing and we loved dining alongside the owner and his family and meeting the cat that also lives at the restaurant and comes by to greet you during the meal as well. It truly was like you were dining at the home of the owner and is a must try if you are in Venice!
